  1. I always got a kick out of the term "Honor Farm" given to prisons without walls and other low security facilities. Honor? Excuse me? Where? A lot of prison security is a waste of taxpayer money, but the guard unions are very powerful in CA especially. You could put the real hardasses in high security facilities and the rest in faaaar cheaper digs. I used to do criminal defense. I did some appellate work which took me inside places such as San Quentin and Folsom Prisons. Seeing some ancient (age 75+) arthritic convicts hobbling around the yard at Folsom was pathetic. They could have been put in rest homes at little risk and far lower cost. I don't mind paying taxes all that much. It is just inevitable. You can waste good time being perpetually pissed off at how unjust they are and how unwisely the money is spent, or you can just let it roll. My grandmother was a Quaker pacifist. She withheld the portion of her taxes that were used for military purposes and donated it to charities. She always stayed one step ahead of the IRS who went after her with liens and seizure and forfeiture procedings. She owned a really nice beach house in Hawaii and somehow it escaped the feds' attention. As she was dieing, she donated it to a favorite charity just days before the IRS found it and tried to seize it. The IRS fought and lost. She had virtually nothing else in her estate and died leaving the IRS holding the bag. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  2. Snow wrote: Airtwardo already scored big time. He married a hot commercial jet pilot and stunt flyer, really! She was young and impressionable I guess. It really pissed off most of the other jumpers. I mean good looks and she brings home a big airline 4 striper paycheck? Those two never go together. He gets to fly free too. There is a sign posted at the gear store at his DZ: "Airtwardo, your wife called and says you can buy anything you want." Some guys have all the luck. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 3. It was never posted Jo. The exchanges were all by PM and email. It really is a good test of how good a searcher someone is. I am betting Georger will find the guy with all the hints he has been given. He is an intriguing suspect even though he probably isnt Cooper. He fits all the qualifications but nothing links him to the crime, except perhaps a passage from a book he wrote, but it is probably just a coincidence. Maybe Snowmman can give you some hints on how to dress for cold weather. I have spent less than ten days of my sixty years on this planet in temps below freezing. I am a clueless weather wimp, born and raised in sunny California. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  4. Snow says: Airtwardo replies: First towers, now shafts and pipe. Boys boys boys. "mine is bigger than yours". Etc etc. Funny, in skydiving bigger is wimpier. Women jumpers are not impressed one bit with my massive thick Triathlon 190 and non swoop 747 style landings. If I were flying something really small, say an elliptical cross braced 85, and hooking it hard, now that would be HOT. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 5. I love to see those payday lenders smashed, friggin userous parasites. Some charge 3 digit interest rates. We need other states to follow Iowa's lead. Where will you cash your SS checks now Georger? Will it be the massage parlor or the Indian casino? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  6. Come on Georger, take the challenge and find him on your own. There is more than enough info posted to do it. This search is kind of an IQ test. Snow turned out smarter than me. I am looking for ways to get even. Between the NRC, FAA and FCC I could put him away for years, but I am not a snitch. You can do 10 to life for failure to light a tower. If you paint it with red lead paint it is life without parole. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  7. SLUGGO, Call the NRC!!! Call the FBI!!! Call the Israeli Air Force, they will strike a rogue nuke plant anywhere, anytime. Snow is building an ultracentrifuge isotope separator. We have proof. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  8. Nope Georger, this guy is 100% real and there is a lot of independent Internet evidence of his presence and his various occupations if you are REALLY good at searching (I was not). Let's see if you can find him on your own. Sooner or later Snow will post some direct links. meanwhile... well you know what he does when you post. I was floored (and actually jealous and embarrassed) that I could have missed this guy. I had a hunch early on that a skydiver with Boeing connections did Norjack and searched extensively on that premise. I SHOULD have found this guy with that criteria but did not. Snow did. You can too. When you see all of his background you will be amazed. Really. I'd publish his name but he is Snow's suspect. It would be an etiquette breach to take publication away from Snow's control. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  9. If the post is about Duane being Cooper, it's a good post. Anything else is part of the coverup, which makes it a bad post. Any further questions? Coast to Coast AM tells me that aliens live among us. A guy with an Ivy League PhD says it's true and that the government is covering it up. Maybe that is the blockbuster evidence Jo keeps hinting about. It's much bigger than just Duane now. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  10. I too have listened to the Bubbleator music. I now have bizzarre thoughts about aerial crimes. Was it the forum or the music? Tonight I am going to play it backwards and see if it says anything about Duane. Snow and I see different bullets, for sure. As for the Nuns, leave em alone Snow. They went to convents to avoid guys like you. Lead them not into temptation. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  11. Where can I buy some Larchwood lumber? I am going to build a cabin in the woods. If I build it, the widows will come. I need to think more like Snowmman. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  12. Well, maybe not the forum Snow, but YOU found something while participating in the forum that bears further scrutiny. Why dont you post the particulars about your intriguing suspect including the words he wrote in a book about freezing feet while walking along the Columbia River? I don't think the FBI ever had this guy in their sights and he is an AMAZING match on a number of fronts including: Former Boeing employee in tech documentation Skydiver with night jump experience Viet Nam experience including civilian jumping and witnesssing atrocities by the US military USMC combat vet OUS resident at time of Norjack residing in VERY obscure place Resembles the FBI drawing Has a HUGE grudge USFS Smoke Jumper who worked in the Northwest. Need I go on? Even if he isnt Cooper just finding him teaches us a lot about investigation techniques and how people (like me and the FBI) miss things. How did you do it? How did I miss this guy while doing similar searches? This guy is old. He probably isnt Cooper but he might be. Even if he isn't I'll bet he knows what was known among jumpers and others in SE Asia about those Air America 727 jumps. Let's find Bruce and get him to interview this guy while he is still living. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  13. Slugoo Sluggo Sluggo, Don't turn off the radio just because there is static. Orange (I think) pointed out that when signals occasionally come through, they trounce the noise. When they come, they are heard, debated and discussed rationally. Learn to live with the noise. Adapt. You can buy a really nice house cheap if it's right next to a chaotic freeway or busy rail line. If you can learn to live with noise, more opportunties are open to you. You are a pilot. Those GA single engine planes are a hell hole of noise and vibration. Still, they occasioanlly let you experience unique and beautiful things so you tolerate hours of numbing acoustic toture. I really like having you as an active person on the forum. We lose something if you revert to lurker or SWL status. Transmit. I like hearing your signal. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  14. So are there two Larch Mountain towers separated by 15 miles? Someone get me oriented here. Ranger Duane knew his towers, local airports and lights like the back of his hand. McCoy, a mere rotor jockey with a few sport jumps had nothing on Duane with his tower base jumps and all that. Duane knew exactly where he was at all times during the flight. His exit was carefully planned. He landed within a mile of his intended LZ center. Getting out wasn't so hard. Jo likely knows more about that egress than she tells here. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  15. Really liked your post Farflung. Sounds like we shared some bad luck in choices of mates. That Cooper Escape Vehicle was interesting. Grafting a Ford Pinto onto a Cessna 337 airframe seemed like a good idea until in flight structural failure killed the enterprise. Air cars keep on coming. There are a few which are in development as we speak. They raise capital and even produce a few flying vehicles but they never ever work out commercially. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 16. Jo, I just posted what you put in quotation marks a few hours ago. I didnt cut and paste it from anything prior. Your excuses for not providing proof make no sense to me. We are not in a courtroom. This is a skydiving forum. This is the Internet. People claim all sorts of things here and without credible evidence, the claims are rightfully regarded as BS. Even if we were in a courtoom, evidence isn't presented in final argument. It is presented during the trial, where jurors can judge its credibility and witnesses like you can be cross examined. If you were a witness trying to prove Duane was Cooper you'd be shredded even by a rookie. You either have the evidence or you don't. You don't. You have failed to present ANY evidence that Duane was Cooper. You have only made unsubstantiated claims and huge leaps of logic that are nearly incomprehensible to clear thinking people. You think the FBI's failure to prove Duane wasnt Cooper proves something. It proves NOTHING regarding Duane. ZERO. You think the fact that the FBI lied to you about Duane proves that they know Duane was Cooper or connected to Cooper. IT DOES NOT You think the FBI knows who Cooper was. OK PROVE IT. You think the FBI is engaged in a coverup of Cooper's identity. OK, PROVE IT. You think Duane's unexplained knowledge of the area in which Cooper was thought to have jumped proves he was Cooper or connected to Norjack. IT DOES NOT PROVE EITHER. You claimed Duane received Ranger training and parachute training. OK, PROVE IT. I'd bet you huge odds that neither is true, but you'd never admit you lost the bet. The reason you can't present evidence is that you do not possess it. It's just like a con, except that you are not asking for money, just attention and notoriety. It's OK Jo, I am at peace with your obsession. I truly am. You aren't evil, just obsessed. I'd love to find out that Duane was actually Cooper, but the evidence just isn't there. You can't accept the truth so you expend great effort researching the most improbable scenarios. I really hope you arent being conned by greedy "investigators" who sense a good mark in an elderly person with some money and an obsession. You had Sluggo in your corner, a very smart guy, an intense interest in Norjack, a heart of gold, and a man of honor. You cast him aside and have allied yourself with "my guys" whoever they are. You cry about the abuse you get but you could stop it in a second by merely posting the probative evidence you claim to have. If you BS here Jo, and unsubstantiated extravagant claims are regarded as BS, then you will get shredded, ridiculed and insulted. This is a skydiving forum. That' what skydivers do on their home turf. Why havent you gone on Coast to Coast AM? You'd find a receptive audience and would have a much higher probablility of finding people willing to help you than you do here. Your story has a lot of initial appeal to the Cooper newbies. Use that to your advantage. It is useless here, we are all jaded. Happy New Year Jo. I hope 2010 brings you peace. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 18. I remember thinking odd thoughts while cutting away from my messed up C9 round cheapo and pulling the handle on my $25 surplus Navy conical reserve. I remember thinking I had literally bet my life on a $25 rag and it seemed so stupidly frugal now that I had to use it. After it opened and let me down for a very soft landing I congratulated myself for finding such a good value in my military surplus gear. I never reached the point where I thought:"you are dead." There was still altitude and still another parachute that might save me. I did think: "I will literally know in a few seconds whether I am going to die or live." That was pretty scary. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  19. Remember the movie Putney Swope? Lucky Airlines? G was a Platinum Premier Level Frequent Flyer. Lucky Airlines had in flight raffles. The winner went to the back compartment for a little up close and personal in flight entertainment with a bevy of flight attendants. I have heard of similar things happening on jumpships but no raffles were involved. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.madisonavenuejournal.com/images/PutneySwope1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.madisonavenuejournal.com/2005/09/27/mad_avenue_films_putney/&usg=__il5a6-KRXcYPAN6qZMEmug2D9MI=&h=600&w=708&sz=87&hl=en&start=2&sig2=hDNy97vyP4mRQrTX7d9IpA&um=1&tbnid=8XAXUYe1pNzESM:&tbnh=119&tbnw=140&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dputney%2Bswope%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T4GGLL_enUS351US351%26sa%3DG%26um%3D1&ei=mWpCS83BGZbYtAOshInVAw 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 20. Follow the money, even if something looks all EMO. Speaking of EMO and money, remember all those car crash songs from the 60s Snow? "Tell Laura I Love Her", etc. Why haven't they been replaced with something more contemporary? I mean they sold REALLY well. Another opportunity for Snowmman Industries to investigate. Put together an Icelandic girl band doing DEATH EMO songs in an ABBA style if you are targeting an older audience or more rap/hip-hop like if targeting the kids. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 21. All this makes me wonder if Cooper were depressed to the point of being suicidal. It might have given him whatever it takes to do something so incredibly brave and scary. Just thinking. Snow, you havent responded to my photo a few posts up. You can ignore it, but inferences WILL be drawn. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  22. Wow. I'll take my foot out of my mouth now Farflung. How did that incident get so little publicity? The bravery of suicidal people astounds me. I can never figure out if depression numbs the fear or if they want to end life so badly that they just do something very scary out of desperation. How incredibly sad. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  23. Where did you get all this Farflung? Lincoln CA had or may still have a DZ and had a visiting Twin Otter for a while. As far as I can tell the EMO death jump story is not true, but it is really interesting to read. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

  25. The rig is OLD. The kid is YOUNG. He has SNOW written on his shirt with a Dan Cooper like comic book character pictured below . Admit it Snowmman. You know more than you have told us about NORJACK. Can you prove you and Jo are not allied? This Duane stuff has proven very effective at distracting us Citizen Sleuths. You need to explain this photo. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=118811; 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver.
