  1. Good idea! Shit, looks like magnets have lots of places they could be used on a rig. Pretty soon we are going to exit the plane and stick to the side of the fuselage! haha
  2. So what? Do people at that place not really like you? They should be fine with you winning. The whole point is to raise money, and that is what you are doing. You could have bought just 1 or 2 tickets, and let them loose money. You did the right thing. I am going to laugh if you don't win dick........ hahaha!
  3. Somehow that doesn't sit right with me, and is a good reason why people dislike hunters. Darkness, an animal which is walking away or partly obscured, an excessively long shot, or the last day of a hunt and the eagerness to get a kill all contribute to shitty shooting. Taking a shit shot at an animal is what causes them to die slowly, and isn't the sign of a good hunter. Why not spend a few bucks on a nice scope, or just not take the shot?
  4. You buying a bunch is the same odds as lots of people buying tickets. All you are doing is helping out with raising money. Who gives a piss
  5. Please don't credit hunters with poaching, they are 2 completely different types of people. I am very upset with poachers, as are the rest of real hunters.
  6. Likewise! I love free stuff. Good thing I jump a PD
  7. Shortly before I bought my Wings, the company removed the stiffener in the main pin cover flap because they had problems with lines somehow wrapping around it. Now the flap fits fairly loosely in it's pocket, and I have been told that it has come out on some jumps. Wish a safer stiffener could be developed. My riser covers are also a tad loose sometimes, those magnets sound nice. Another idea, you could paint a part of the chest strap hardware bright orange, such that it is only visible if the strap is not routed correctly. Simple to do, and could save lives. Also, what about having magnets in the bottom of the reserve handle pocket? You could get rid of the velcro, and use the magnets to firmly hold the handle in place. No more peel punch, just punch. You could do something similar with the cutaway handle too. The thing that is nice about magnets is that once they are a short distance away they loose grip fast, rather than velcro which keeps trying to hold (especially in a sheer like the cutaway handle) as it is pulled away. Just some random thoughts, probably not any good. Aren't you guys glad I don't make rigs??
  8. Hahaha. One thing I liked about my PD210 was that it was the same size as the Sabre2 190 I am jumping now, and I still can downsize once more. Getting 2 downsizes out of a container is nice! Main reason people don't get stuck with F111, they get so ragged out after a couple hundred jumps they get a new canopy because: 1. Scared to jump the canopy 2. Legs/face busted from landing
  9. Bring a shit ton of good beer when you get off aff. For awhile after making a new dz my home dz, i always brought so much booze that people would always have a comment haha. Helps find people to drink with at the end of the day too, if you funnel a jump you can always erase it from their memory. Tips are nice, but you can always offer to buy the person some lunch, or help them work on their car, or something like that. Usually these things stick out in people's mind much more than a $20 bill at the end of the day.
  10. Some easily made at home stuff is easily detonated by heat/friction. I hope they knew what they were dealing with.........
  11. Santa is alive and well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z59gAXZ0ksQ
  12. Thanks. Nobody lives forever, and he knew this better than anyone. He was the eldest of 3 brothers, the middle brother joined after his death and went to iraq, very nearly dying himself, and coming back with something like 65% disability. The youngest just joined about a year ago or so. All 3 Marines... This country owes that family allot.
  13. All other things aside, I was able to see some information regarding the death of my best friend back in 2004, and for this I am very grateful.
  14. I suppose having a religious upbringing has influenced my opinion that animals were put on this earth for us, and than humans are a holy thing. But even that aside, sitting on top of the food chain has it's percs haha. The day the game I am hunting yells to me "hey! don't shoot" is the day I stop hunting. You got that right.
  15. B spec helps. The special races give you TONS of cash. Anybody done NASCAR? The advanced special races are fucking HARD!!!!!!!!!!
  16. People who hunt in order to save money, or survive, are almost non existent in most of the world. If I wanted food, I would go to a nice warm McDonalds and pig out for $3, instead of walking through snow in the freezing cold. Right now, I have hundreds of dollars invested in weapons, hunting licenses, ammunition, etc etc. So there is no way I can deny that it is for recreation. Recreation is suppose to be something you enjoy right??
  17. Good for you! I only started hunting a year or so ago, but it has been lots of fun, and given me more respect for animals. Being mature enough to kill an animal and take the meat from it for sustenance is a great thing for your kid.
  18. One great thing about grand turismo is the ability to have fully adjustable suspension, which is fun to tweak with. Gives you a good idea of what to expect in the real world. Anybody else got a 62 Buick?
  19. I loved my PD 9cell, even though I was at about 1.2:1 loading. Flares were acceptable, but not great. Keep it at 1:1, and you will be fine!
  20. Congrats to both of you! Now the real fun starts. If there is one thing I can convince you of, it is "DO YOUR FUCKING PT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That shit can get way boring but just do it.
  21. Why were you so worried about a main reserve entanglement? It seems like under a spin that hard and fast, the reserve pilot chute would have no problem getting the air it needs to lift the reserve to line stretch and deploy it. After the reserve is open it would probably be pretty hard for the main to choke it out and collapse it. Did you ever think about pulling the cutaway cables directly at the risers? One last question, would you do what you did again? Personally, it bothers me to see people cutting away way below their hard deck, just because they think they have the altitude, or worse yet, "I have a skyhook!" and they think 500ft cutaways are no problem for them. If you have a hard deck, you should stick to it....
  22. It looks oddly similar to your avatar....... hahaha!
  23. That is a good idea. I see quite a few on gun broker for reasonable prices
  24. Damn! That is no joke either, last night I was driving between Idaho falls and Twin falls, and there were cars in the ditch at a rate of about 1 per mile.... The road was pure ice. Dangerous!
  25. Just got in the door from a 2 day drive back from North Dakota. Saw lots of great looking mule and white tail out there... Shot a large number of pheasant myself. Got to try out an over-under shotgun and loved it, now I gotta get one..... Any recommendations? (I stopped at scheels today and tried out a few in the under $800 price range, I liked the CZ, the Mossberg was ok, and the Condor sucked..)
