  1. And why, should he not reap the rewards of HIS hard work??? You (generic "you" there) feel sorry for the minimum wage earners then start a business and pay them all of the profit of the business. scott
  2. Yep agreed. "we" need to take responsibility for ourselves, and quit demanding handouts. If you don't have it, don't spend it. Don't start a family ( as someone has already stated) unless you can afford it. Dont buy that $30000 auto if you don't have the $$, don't eat steak if you only have a chicken budget, etc etc etc. I put myself through college on a min wage job and then went to work for a SALARY. I didnt start a family until i was 30 because I knew i couldn't afford it. It was called responsibility. I didn't expect anyone else to pick up the tab (and thats called pride, something a lot of people in this country lack nowadays) (that was NOT directed at you btw). There are lot of thing wrong in this country today, but the minimum wage, IMHO is not one of them. Scott
  3. [reply If you catch enough - they buy it back from you. That is always nice. Heck w/ that. Have them clean it and TAKE IT HOME!!
  4. I also agree that the $$$ paid to our lawmakers is a bit over the top. Yes they should be compensated, but the VAST majority of those people profit already from the fact that they got elected, not to mention most had plenty of $$ to begin with. Scott
  5. Oh yea, Unions are the answer. I have always thought that price fixing was illegal, so how unions get around this, I have NO idea. Scott
  6. WELL SAID Lawrocket!!! I am in FLA but the same applies here. Scott
  7. Tennis shoes are fine as are aqua shoes. If you are going out of PC this time of year, my guess is you will be fishing for grouper (my FAV fish) and you SHOULD do well. You will probably also catch a fair # of Snapper too, but those, you will have to throw back (out of season) . And best of all, This time of year you MAY not even have to get out of site of land at PC to have a VERY good day of fishing. The water is DEEP (60 - 100 feet) within site of land out of PC. Again, have fun, and if you have an xtra spot on the boat....... Scott
  8. The poor people?? As my previous post indicates raise the minimum wage enough and people will figure out how to do without additional employees through automation. As for raising prices (oh and this is called INFLATION) some businesses don't control the cost of the products sold (insurance agencies for example
  9. Where are you going out of, and what is the expected catch? As for dramamine, unless you want to sleep the whole trip, stay away from it. Any good fishing store or sporting goods store will have anti-seasick wrist bands for about $10 and they WORK, drug free. The other things I will suggest, LONG sleeve shirt, reagardless of the temperature, you WILL GET BURNT on the water. Take LOTS of water to drink (beer is ok too if you KNOW you won't get seasick) but water is better. Other than that, it is LOTS of fun. I have many many many hours on the water and it may be my favorite place to be (hearesy on this forum I know ) but there is not much to compare. Most of all tho, HAVE FUN and enjoy. Scott
  10. [reply That's the great thing about speaker's corner. If you don't like that whine, just scroll up where you can find a Ted Kennedy is this . . . and Ted Kennedy did that . . . whine. A whine for any sensibility! Now THAT'S funny. Scott
  11. Yes friends and neighbors, racisim is alive and well, and woe be unto those ("african-americans) that don't walk the "party" line. I have been asked, and asked myself, WHO it is that keeps racism alive and florishing. Think about it. Scott
  12. then get out of the hourly wage jobs!! This is truly a problem. I heard just this morning that there is a new push to raise the min wage to $7.15/hr. Thats ludicrous. I am a small business owner and I assure you, raising the minimum wage HURTS small business. I would MUCH rather invest in AUTOMATION than employees at a required $7.15/hr. It would be MUCH more cost effective and, then where would the employee be? You must look at all sides of the issue, not JUST your bank account, and realize that it could create more problems than it solves. Scott
  13. Food, did someone say food??? what we eatin??? Jello shots?? Scott
  14. Gonna be ANOTHER great weekend in the SUNSHINE state Just gotta love FLA. Scott
  15. Tigra, Thats not what she (ladybug) said or meant (yes, i can speak for her, I sleep w/ her) lol (and if i missed any humor in your post, I apologize)
  16. OK, Figured I was missing something. My kids are at the DZ almost every weekend, I ask no one to "tone down" anything they do, and my kids know where and when they are allowed to be in areas (ie the packing and landing areas) and they also understand the ramifications if they do misbehave. I also have no tolerance for misbehaving kids or parents that attmept their morals on others "just" because their kids are around. Scott
  17. I haven't even begun to read this entire thread, but it seems there are an awful lot of people against kids on the DZ for the kids own good (or am I missing something?). I have to agree w/ tfelder (?) about the kid thing here. I've got 2, a 5 y/o and a 2 1/2 y/o who absolutely LOVE the DZ and whom I THINK are truly LIKED by the vast majority of jumpers at the DZ. My wife and I see nothing wrong with exposing our kids to the "real" world and try not to be overly protective and sheltering, we believe that does a diservice to them. Thats my $.02. Scott
  18. Yep, thats the good thing. Its like you never even left off, just pick right back up, that's when you KNOW they are a good friend, even if you don't see them often. Scott
  19. LOL. Why not just put Half the water (or xtra regualar in the brew) in the regular? It tastes better that way. oh, BTW, if you really need a boost, Just eat a spoonful or two, straight up. Instant coffee --- YUK Scott
  20. Looks like a Cessna on steroids. Scott
  21. Yea, I am aware of that arguement (and as far as I am concerned it is bullsh*t) but it is truly no different than and individual having a trampoline at home, the yard is fenced, with a locked gate, AND POSTED. If a kid climbs the fence and STILL jumps on the trampoline, and breaks his neck, they can sue YOU, the trampoline owner and WIN!! (true insurance cases on the books for this very thing). But like everyone else said, its about taking PERSONAL responsibility for your OWN actions. Why should "we all" have to protect "each other" from doing stupid shit??? Makes no sense to me, but I'm not a lawyer, so what do I know. LOL Scott
  22. Hmmm, I'd better leave that up to HER. LOL Scott
  23. ROFLMFAO!!!!!! that is TOO funny. Scott
  24. There's a prime candidate for a Darwin award if I ever saw one. Hey people, take some PERSONAL responsibilty. This shit kills me. These are the same parents that blame the SCHOOLS because there kids are too lazy to do the work they are assigned. People need to get a grip. I liked society a lot more when people took responsibilty for there own actions, and didn't try to pin their stupidity on someone else. Scott
