My question is what difference does it make? The company will still maintain a Corp office in Houston, and remains incorporated in the US. What difference does it make where the Corp HQ is? The make support / log stuff for the oil industry and quite honestly we do not do near the amount of drilling here that is done in the the ME and Asia. My guess is it is a wise business decision and a cost saving measure as well. But then again, I am not a conspiracy throrist. :-)

Repugs take another swipe and unions and workers
white_falcon replied to Lucky...'s topic in Speakers Corner
Ask all the unemployed autoworkers how well the Union worked for them. Yep, Priced them right out of a job. Companies could no longer afford the outrageous wages demanded by the union, so guess what? They closed the doors. Yep, Unions make LOTS of sense to me. NOT!!! Scott -
As far as the liability is concerned, if you have a homeowners insurance policy that includes LIABILITY coverage, it WILL cover you for liabilty at the dz as well. (at least I can find no exclusion that pertains to this in florida). So if you are a home owner, or a renter with the appropriate policy, you probably already have sufficent (and more) liability coverage than is provided by USPA. At the same time, I would still be a member. Membership is needed in order for US to have an organized and "countable" voice when it comes to dealing with "city hall". edited cause i can't spell Scott

My DZO bought a brand new Pilot 210 for a student canopy and let me put the first 50-60 jumps on it. I will tell it was a SLICK SOB but u get used to it. As for how to pack, like the other poster suggested, DO NOT roll the nose and roll the tail very little (jsut enuff to keep it tidy and under control. I typically "trash" packed it and never had an issue, always very nice on heading openings. Also, I have since leared to physcho pack and if I had it to do all over again, would definitely physcho pack a new pilot, no question, as it is much easier to control the material this way. Thats my $.02, if you don't use it all, I wuold expect some change.

Don't know if AAA does, but MOST of those types of policies SPECIFICALLY exclude activities like ours. I know for a FACT that AIG does 'cause I sell them. Scott -

Johnny, You make good points, but the problem as I see it is, If we dont take it to them in Iraq, They will bring it to us here at home. I would much rather we be turning buildings to ruble in Baghdad than in Baltimore (or Atlanta, or Chicago or .....) Yes, we are in a mess in the Middle East, I don't believe you will find many to dispute that, but the solution (in the war on Terror) is to fight it abroad, not here at home. Scott

So, umm does is removing a Tyrant from power not the first step in liberating a country from tyranny?? Or did I miss something? Oh, and BTW -- The average Iraqi was happy, very happy, to see us in the 1st Gulf War, and they are Happy to see us now. We have a bit of a trust issue to overcome (and we are doing that aby continuing our support now) in that when we left last time, we did not provide the arms and intelligence suport to the Kurds in the North that we promised.

OH good GOD. Where would you ever come up withe the idea that "taking the gloves off" = Nukes??? Jeesh. By "taking the gloves off" I mean simply: Allow NO safe havens to the insurgents, reduce the insane restrictions on rules of engagement, allow our troops to decimante ANY structure in which the enemy is hiding and generally allow our troops to do that which they are trained to do. We (our troops) are in a war, not a frigin' croquet match. People (sometimes innocent people) get hurt in a war. Things get blown up. War is not won by politicians who constantly second guess and make up the rules from 3000 miles away. When we finally realize that, we will be able to win the war and get our troops home. If we don't realize this, the sad reality is that more will die, and it will all have been in vain. Just one old grunt's opinion, take it --- or don't. Scott

Well Said "chimp". My belief is that we need to finish what was started at this point. We failed to do that in the Round I and I am sad to say I was there to witness the failure. To pull out now would cause a void of power in the region and would propel Iran to the forefront. This is a VERY bad Idea. The Govt. needs to allow the military to "take the gloves off" and finish this war.

Ok, for all of you without insurance, you need to check this site out. https://shopblue.bcbsfl.org/U65RateRequest1.asp?productid=IBOP This is for Blucross Blueshield of Florida (if you are not in florida search for BLUECROSS BLUESHIELD (YOUR STATE). You can get instant quotes for everything from "traditional" insurance to Catastrophic coverage. If you have questions, feel free to msg or email me and I will try to help. I DO NOT represent BC/BS, but I am a licensed Insurance agent in the State of Florida. I personally represent United Health Care and Golden Rule but don't have the ability to provide quotes for you in mass. I am NOT soliciting your business ( I have written exactly 3 health policies in 15 years, but I do have Knowledge of the industry and how it works) feel free to ask any questions and I will try to provide answers. Just trying to help. Scott Kremkau Tallahasee, FL skremkau@comcast.net -
Skydiving Instructors lack of benefits/insurance-Koji
white_falcon replied to bigbearfng's topic in The Bonfire
Walt, As I thought, all of these items are able to be dealt with (with maybe the melanoma but, even that is psossible). What will happen is that the company (ies) may require a higher deductible, or a rider that excludes SOME coverage for the current ailment. The exclusion may be eithere temporary or permanent, and mey just be that a RX card is not provided (ie diabetes). However, the individiual would still have access to AFFORDABLE health insurance in all other aspects. Does this adequately address your question? Scott -
