I've seen that first one before, but it seems to have taken on a bit more significance to me after having recently found myself heading a bit faster than expected towards a barbed wire fence and landing in a briar patch after avoiding the fence. Killing threads since 2004.

Wow Amazon - you pretty much summed up my "won't ever go there again" list all in one post. AFTERSHOCK and Goldschlager were both ruined for me the summer after high school and Vodka the year after I graduated from college. All of them were pretty unique incidents, and represent 3 of the 5 times in my life I would say that I really over did it. I have managed to partake in some vodka courtesy of Chiquita and Jello Jay's jellow shots, but I've been careful to keep it in limited quantity. Margaritas...now you're talking. Bring 'em on! I am by no means a vegetarian, far from it, however for the last few years I very rarely had any meat for lunch. In NYC every other deli you walk into now has some sort of create your own salad station where you start w/ a bowl of a few kinds of greens and add toppings from a huge variety of choices. That was my lunch pretty much every day and you could just grab it and go. It made for a light but filling lunch and left me ready for dinner at a decent hour so I wasn't eating right before going to bed. When I was working in Atlanta I tried finding a place like it but there was nothing to be found and now where I live in the suburbs there are a few "salad restaurants" where you go for a sit down meal and it's just a big salad bar but nothing to just grab and take home. Well I said that while I don't think it would be on my top list I won't rule it out yet. Now I don't actually like olives, so they're out, but I might just try that chocolate milk and beef jerky thing sometime soon. Killing threads since 2004.

HeHe... Kind of wish I could live in that area but my district will go from Tallahassee to the Alabama border, so I need to be a little more centralized. Oh, and I look forward to tossing my kayak on the roof and being at the beach in just a few minutes. My poor boat hasn't been in the water since I left New York! Killing threads since 2004.

I'm going to have to agree with just about everyone. Everyone except maybe for the beef jerky, chocolate milk and olives. I haven't tried it though, so I won't knock it yet. To me the best drunk food is generally whatever it is that I happen to be eating. It can be Waffle House or a "Burrito as Big as My Head" or Kornet Pizza (a slice of which also happens to be as big as ones head) or if you are up late/early enough some H&H or Columbia bagels just as they come out... Just tried it as well as a few variations and nothing came up. Have you used it recently? Forget it...works w/out that middle dot. Thanks! Killing threads since 2004.

I find myself in the market for both an apartment and roommate(s). I've created listings on Rent.com and Roommates.com and am wondering what other sites people have had success with? As I posted in a previous thread I'll be moving to Panama City, FL at the end of the month. Thanks to everyone that posted to that thread and PM'd me with info regarding personal connections and knowledge of that area. Thanks!!! Killing threads since 2004.

Just discussed this with my family over Thanksgiving. I saw a listing for "The Great Pumpkin: Charlie Brown" and then when I went to watch it something else was in its place. I couldn't believe it! I remember as a kid (thinking 20-25 years ago) how it used to be such a big deal when there was a "special" on tv. I don't just mean a big deal because we were kids, but advertised like crazy on TV, changing the regular broadcast schedule, etc. Of course, around the same time MTV was just getting started and went off the air every night around 8pm to be replaced by A&E. Mmm...kebabs. For anyone in NYC, I have two favorites. The guy with the cart outside Old Navy at 6th and 19th or so and not far behind is the greek couple w/ a cart at 40th and Ditmars in Astoria. A former roommate used to tell me that I had a "meat cart" fetish. That nice greek lady in Astoria even fed me a few times when I didn't have cash on me, and would never let me pay after the fact. Can you tell how a D.O. operates in relation to someone practicing non-directional force technique? Is that what it's called? I'm not sure I have the phrasing of it correctly. I've been plagued by back problems for most of my life, and my last big flare up was the result of a kayaking injury. At the time I went to see a chiropracter who practiced NDFT. She wasn't about snap crackle pop adjustments but figuring out what was out of whack and using massage and relaxation techniques to get to the root of the problem. She also did this thing where I laid on the table and she took looked at the lengths of my legs and based on tension causing one to be shorter than the other she worked muscles between my neck and lower back until one whole side of my body shifted down a considerable distance. It took me trusting her when it seemed like nothing was happening but I stuck w/ it and after several visits things really settled into place. My back felt a lot better, and the difference in looking at the before and after x-rays and photos of my pelvis and hip region was wild. I had literally been walking around with so much tension in my neck and upper body that my entire pelvis/hip area was cocked up to one side for who knows how long. Unfortunately she wasn't covered by my insurance so I couldn't make it long term treatment, and since I worked with her I've tried a few other docs but nobody that has ever had that kind of result. I don't see any sharks. In fact, I don't see much of anything going on in there! Note to self - begin starting day earlier than 3pm and you'd probably be asleep by now. Killing threads since 2004.

I drive an hour to an hour and a half to get to Skydive the Farm in Georgia. There is a huge group of jumpers from Tallahassee that travel more than 4 hours each way to jump at The Farm. They usually come up twice a month or so, sometimes even more often. I haven't been in the sport long, but it seems like when people find a dropzone with a good group of people and management that makes them feel welcome they'll drive just about any distance to get there, even if it means passing closer dropzones on the way. Yeah, it is transferrable, but I'm really trying to make use of it so I don't let such a great opportunity go to waste. I was going to put it on ebay but I took a look and there were lots of them already there, most going for only a couple hundred dollars. Check it out on eBay if anyone is doing an overseas trip - might be a good way to get the ticket for cheap! Techniclly not allowed to sell it though, so it's funny to see how they list them. They list a "fancy white envelope" for sale, that just happens to come w/ an airline certificate inside. Ha! Killing threads since 2004.

Cool - that's exactly the kind of suggestion I'm looking for. I even have a few friends whose family live there and could serve as a "home base" for a bit of travelling around. Killing threads since 2004.

Welcome to dz.com! You should call the local dropzone where you would want to do the skydive. All dropzones have their own rules regarding weight limits, and some will allow people over 16 to jump w/ parental consent. If you aren't sure which dropzone you are going to, click on DROPZONES in the menu bar above and use the new dropzone locator! Welcome, and have fun! Killing threads since 2004.

Last year American had a deal that if you flew twice from NYC to either California or Florida they'd give you this voucher. I have a freelance job that takes me all over the country every winter and managed to arrange for them to book me on American for my trips to California and Florida. Killing threads since 2004.

My plan had been to go diving in Bonaire. That was the whole reason I chose the flights I did last year to qualify. Spent that money on AFF and my jumps up until now. I've been thinking about the DZ in Cabo San Lucas. If I remember correctly American gets close enough that I could rent a car. Wouldn't have much money to jump, but could probably get in a few jumps and hang out on the beach the rest of the time. Killing threads since 2004.

Hmmm...good question. I would guess it is anywhere THEY fly, but I'll have to look tomorrow and see. Killing threads since 2004.

Ok, so I have a voucher for a plane ticket anywhere in the world that American flies. I had some big plans for a nice SCUBA diving vacation, but I have since started skydiving and spent all my money. So. Who has suggestions for some uniqe and interesting destination that would cost next to nothing to visit for a few days? Killing threads since 2004.

That's what I thought. Would have been upset to find out it was still on and I was missing it! I might just have to make a trip to the store. Killing threads since 2004.

Wow. I haven't seen that show in years. Probably close to a decade. Is it still on Comedy Central? Killing threads since 2004.
