  1. Right on, PLF...hence I specifically mentioned Sunday brunch. That means 2pm or so for me. Right there with you on the cold pizza. In college I used to pick up some pizza on the way home from being out and stick it in the fridge just so I could eat it the next day (usually not "morning" per se, but for "breakfast" anyway.) 2. Ha!!! How would you like to have been that moron owner standing there while everyone had to get off the plane. Probably oblivious. That's probably even worse than being the guy that snored all the way from NYC to Los Angeles and back. (That's right, I hate you! I mean, did you look at my ticket to make sure you were on my return flight too?!?!?) Killing threads since 2004.
  3. WAIT! Maybe this means DrunkMonkey could get some money from Homeland Security to help get rid of his cat problem! Full thread here... Killing threads since 2004.
  4. Who says cereal has to be for breakfast? Quote Here here! In fact, who says any breakfast food has to be for breakfast (or that dessert can't be breakfast)? I'm a big fan of having that sundae to start out Sunday brunch. I mean, if I get full too quickly I don't want to miss out on dessert! The old staple is Frosted Flakes. With chocolate milk when I'm feeling dangerous. Killing threads since 2004.

    Best beers

Agree for sure with you on that one. Sadly not as readily available as I would like. Hands down my favorite though is Hofbräuhaus. Could only ever find it in one or two bars that I frequented in NYC, which was always a bummer. If you are ever in Cincinnati, check out the Hofbräuhaus Haus in Newport, KY, just across the Ohio river. Can be obnoxious when packed, but a great atmosphere and where else can you purchase a liter mug of beer for $7. I still laugh when I think of my first visit there while still living in NYC and hearing people complain about a $7 liter of beer. At the same time I was pinching myself because I was accustomed to paying $7 or $8 for a single bottle. Haven't been drinking much since I moved back to GA so it has been a wonderful treat each time to look at the prices on the drink menu. Killing threads since 2004.
  6. Which is absolutely HILARIOUS when you look at your sig.... Oh Sh*&. Haven't laughed that hard in a while. Hopefully the stinging from Coke going through my nose will subside soon. Killing threads since 2004.
  7. As I mentioned in a post above, the beer thread/mention of a bass boat made me think of part of Ralphie May's stand up routine. Now I'm the first to admit that this is nowhere near as funny typed up in Word as it is coming out of his mouth, but use your imagination. ---quoting Ralphie May--- I hate all them “Al’s.” Al Queda, Al Jazera. If you’re name’s Al, f&%$ you too! Al Queda, on Al Jazera, supposedly threatened St. Louis. They're going to blow up St. Louis. Well let me tell you what...that's the last f*^&in mistake they want to make. You blow up New York, you get the military involved and we take a couple of countries. You blow up St. Louis and you disrupt the distribution of Budweiser...Let me tell you what...exactly 30 minutes after the Budweiser plant gets damaged, every redneck in America is gonna be coming over here. There'll be 80,000 bass boats crossing the Atlantic. (In southern accent) F&*% you Osama! Get that dog up at the front...we'll sniff that sumbitch out! ---end quote--- If you know anyone that has the DVD, check it out. Much funnier than reading it here. Killing threads since 2004.

  9. That's a big part of his act, but not the whole thing. Had never heard of him before, but heard him on the radio while taking someone to the airport a couple weeks ago and just about wet myself I was laughing so hard. Found out he was in town and went to see him that night. I know a couple people that didn't really like him, but everyone I was with was on the floor. I guess he was on Last Comic Standing last year, or something like that. Never saw it. Not trying to hijack the thread...I'll find that DVD with the part of the act that pertains to beer. Would hate to stray too far from such an important topic. Killing threads since 2004.
  10. 1. Whats your name? Jason 2. How old are you? 27 3. Why did you decide to start jumping out of airplanes? Always wanted to try. Just moved to Georgia - no scuba w/in reasonable distance and don't have a roof rack for my kayak yet, so I decided to try skydiving. Thought it would be a cheap hobby to get into. Oops...but now I have no choice. 4. Single or married? Single 5. Do you have kids? Nope 6. What do you drive? Dodge Intrepid (still missing my old Volvo 240 with 350K miles on it I sold when I moved to NYC 6 years ago) 7. Have you ever done a kisspass? Nope 8. Where do you live? Marietta, GA 9. Do you have any pets? Nope 10. How many jumps do you have? Just one tandem. Start AFF next week. 11. What color eyes do you have? Hazel 12. What is your nationality? American (with some Irish in there) 13. Have you ever dated someone you met off the internet? Yes 14. Favorite Movie? Space Camp (see signature line) 15. What do you do when you arent skydiving? Well, until last month I was an event planner for Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC. Left that to volunteer for a year with AmeriCorps in Florida. Position fell through. Now I'm jobless in Georgia while looking for another AC position. Anyone looking to hire someone part time? 16. Have you ever BASE jumped? Nope 17. If not... do you want to? One step at a time. Let's jump out of an airplane alone first. 18. Do you have siblings? Yup, 2 bros, one sis, all younger. 19. Where do you want to travel to the most? Until I did my tandem would have said Bonaire for scuba diving. Might rethink that soon. Sad thing is I have a free ticket to go anywhere that American flys and no money to do anything when I get there! 20. What's your favorite color? Orange 21. Where was the last place you flew to ( not skydiving )? Florida for scuba diving Killing threads since 2004.
  11. Happy to see that what I would consider the worst beer ever is right there at No. 19 - Koch's Golden Anniversary Beer. Going back to the summer after high school though - didn't matter how bad it was - any beer that you could buy on sale for less than $7.50 a case was the best beer on the shelf to us. Probably the only beer you could ever actually afford by recycling for can deposits. Someone mentioned the taste of beer on a bass boat. Anyone heard Ralphie May's stand up routine? If so you know what I'm talking about. I'll find my dvd and see if I can recap here in a later post. Killing threads since 2004.
  12. "...one of the largest known colonies of subterranean leeches." Just what kind of PLF does this situation require? Killing threads since 2004.
  13. Thanks for the welcome! According to the August 14th & 15th thread it looks like there will be a bunch of people at Skydive the Farm this weekend. Might just have to go out there and do a couple tandems and have fun meeting lots of new people! I think I'll be starting AFF the next weekend wherever I decide to do it. Killing threads since 2004.
  14. Hi everyone! Let me start by apologizing for the book I’ve written below… I’ve been lurking for a couple weeks and now that I’ve read enough to feel like I know most of you, I thought I would write to introduce myself. I just moved to Marietta, GA coming from NYC where I’ve lived for the last 5 ½ years. I had an amazing life in NYC – good friends, a career I loved in the city I grew up dreaming of living in – but decided that I was too young (27) to already be doing what I want to do for the rest of my life. I feel like I still have way too much to experience to settle down into one thing and one place. So, I decided to take a year and volunteer with AmeriCorps in Florida. My initial position with AmeriCorps fell through, so I’m now outside of Atlanta staying with family while I search out a new position. The tail end of my plan includes just seeing how things are going and doing what feels right. I might jump on the first plane back to NYC wondering what the heck I was thinking, or I might decide to find whatever jobs I have to work in order to live a life revolving around a hobby or just a way of life. Who knows! For now (until the savings bottom out), damn what a vacation! I’ve been trying for a couple years to get friends to try skydiving with me to no avail. Finally I decided that without a car in NYC it was going to be just too tough getting to DZ’s if I tried it and loved it, so I gave up. A week after I arrived in Atlanta I dragged my brother and dad to all do a tandem jump together. As you’ve heard so many times…WOW…now I’m ready for more. I’m in the process of arranging for health insurance, so as soon as that goes through I’ll be starting AFF. I’m still trying to figure out where exactly I want to do the training, and whether I want to try and go through it all right at one time or spread it out a bit and make it easier on the wallet. (That will probably depend more on how successful I am finding some sort of temp job than anything else!!!). Other than biting at the bit to get involved in skydiving…I’m an avid kayaker and scuba diver and love to hike and camp. While I have done some diving in the Florida Springs recently, I haven’t managed to pitch a tent or get my kayak wet since I arrived in Georgia. I can’t wait to do all of the above!!! I can’t wait to join you all in this amazing community, both online and in person. For any of you in the Atlanta area I would love to hear your feelings regarding different DZ’s and especially if any of you are into kayaking, hiking/camping or SCUBA! Oh yeah, and definitely let me know if you know of any decent temp jobs available!!!!! Best, jason (soon to be aka FlyingJ) Killing threads since 2004.
