No more political commercials, now the true horror begins!!!
FlyingJ replied to PhillyKev's topic in The Bonfire
I walked into Wal-Mart yesterday and I'll be damned if they don't have a HUGE sign just as you walk in the door already counting down the days to Christmas. Killing threads since 2004. -
Damn! That's one of my favorite bars that I've ever been too. They have a fantastic beer garden w/ bocci and I guess now "cornholing." That bar was one of the very few things I enjoyed about my 4 years at the University of Cincinnati! Killing threads since 2004.

Ah...how many times I've thought about selling my trombones. Back when I was trying to find the money to buy my kayak... and then a new road bike... and then my scuba gear... and now a rig... I don't think I can let myself do it though. Even though not one of them has come out of a case since I played my graduation recital I'm sure someday down the road it will be good to have, even if it is just to get together with old friends that also quit to see just how bad we can sound together! I just saw a documentary called Go Sky Kites about paragliding that was on one of the High Definition channels. It looks so peaceful and amazing. I'm totally psyched about trying it out sometime now. Killing threads since 2004.

Skydive Atlanta Freefly Halloween Festival!!!!
FlyingJ replied to ianmdrennan's topic in Events & Places to Jump
What an amazing time! I might not have been able to afford to make a jump, but I had an amazing time none the less. Nic/Pruitt - no problemo with the ride or you borrowing my extra tent, that's why I keep it in the trunk. Glad you guys could make it. CONGRATS to Nic on making his first AFF jump and to Pruitt for moving on to level IV! I met so many great new people, but couldn't believe it when I looked at the list in this thread and realized how many I didn't meet! Killing threads since 2004. -
SUPER MO FO BOOGIE NOV 19-21 ROLL CALL
FlyingJ replied to douwanto's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Missed you in Thomaston, Kevin. What a novel idea - actually talking about the boogie in the boogie thread! I was just telling Shrek last night that we should probably get around to that. The prices were posted above but we haven't heard anything about how that pre-registration is going to work. Hans or Greg? Killing threads since 2004. -
SUPER MO FO BOOGIE NOV 19-21 ROLL CALL
FlyingJ replied to douwanto's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Not really sure. Depends on the weather and how many people are there to jump. It will probably be a little on the slow side because so many people will already be in Thomaston. I hope to head out between 4 and 5pm or so. If the weather is bad than I would leave even earlier. Killing threads since 2004. -
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, a half a pack of cigarattes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it. Elwood & Jake - The Blues Brothers Killing threads since 2004.

SUPER MO FO BOOGIE NOV 19-21 ROLL CALL
FlyingJ replied to douwanto's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'll be there. That's why I suggested you head down with us. It will be a bit of a drive, especially with the race happening, but from what I hear the party will be well worth it. Killing threads since 2004. -
SUPER MO FO BOOGIE NOV 19-21 ROLL CALL
FlyingJ replied to douwanto's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Pruitt - you and Nic should head down to Thomaston with us after jumping at The Farm. The party is going to be off the hook. Killing threads since 2004. -
YeeeeeeeeHaw! I can't wait to meet so many new dz.com people. I wish I could afford to head down there right now to start jumping! I'm going to use my jumps on account at The Farm tomorrow morning and then head straight down to SDA to join the fun! My job for the rest of today is to scrape together enough cash to be able to do some jumping on Sunday! See ya'll soon!!!!! Killing threads since 2004.

Mmmm...my favorite is the #5 from the deli around the corner from my former office. 9th Ave and 60th St. in Manhattan. Chicken cutlet w/ bacon, lettuce and tomato on a kaiser roll, or if nice and hungry a hero. Pretty simple, and tasty at all times of day and night. Killing threads since 2004.

Thanks everyone. I'll check these out, and a couple people sent me PMs with suggestions as well. It looks like a few of the pay hosting sites are cheap enough that it might just be worth it to avoid any sort of advertising that goes along with it. Thanks for the suggestions! What is the best free web host to go with out there? I've only ever had ISP based websites and now I'd like to go with something that I won't lose when I change providers. I know that because it is free I'll have to put up with some pop-ups or other advertising. In your experience, what is the best free host out there? I'm not looking to do anything fancy at all - just want the ability to share photos and if there is enough space videos. Killing threads since 2004.

I used to get hives all the time as a kid. I'm pretty much deathly allergic to cats (and to a lesser degree dogs) and I would get hives if I pet them or let a dog lick me and didn't wash my hands pretty soon thereafter. We went to the doctor the first few times it happened and they gave me some sort of shot that worked pretty quickly, but after a few times just treated it with Benadryl or something similar. Not long after that I finally realized that if I just washed my hands (or avoided them altogether) I wouldn't get hives in the first place. Killing threads since 2004.

The thread about pranks and jokes in Bonfire got me wondering whatever happened to posting the video of Lance "sleeping" the pond? Killing threads since 2004.

pranks/practical jokes to pull on fellow skydivers?
FlyingJ replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
Is the person a heavy sleeper? A little while back someone at the Farm was picked up on their air mattress and floated on the swoop pond. He was quite a heavy sleeper and didn't wake up until 30-40 minutes later when people were yelling at him to wake him up because we all got bored just watching him sleep out there. Still haven't seen the video of that posted. Who's got it!!! Killing threads since 2004. -
SUPER MO FO BOOGIE NOV 19-21 ROLL CALL
FlyingJ replied to douwanto's topic in Events & Places to Jump
It will be ok...this time. Everyone have fun at the Farm this weekend. If anyone will be around next Saturday I think I might jump at the Farm (where I have $ on account) Saturday morning and then head over to Thomaston to party and hopefully jump on Sunday. Killing threads since 2004. -

Allright Pruitt - dropped me off the list! Just cause I won't be around this weekend doesn't mean you can forget about me that quickly! I would LOVE to do that, however I'll be leaving around 6pm Saturday evening to drive home. I've got two friends flying down from NY to drive out there with me and wanted to get them to do a tandem while here, but they decided they would rather get back to Atlanta to hang out with some of our other college friends. I mean come on! What's more important! Killing threads since 2004.

Hey everyone - I'm hauling my butt from Atlanta over to Louisiana for a wedding this weekend and am just wondering which route those that have driven it think is best. I'm leaving tonight around 2am, so Friday AM rush hour can be taken into consideration. I-85 to I-65 or I-20 to I-59 Thanks! Killing threads since 2004.
