  1. Alright Tally boys and girls...who can hook this here boy up with a ride? Stephen - just sent a pm w/ my number. I'll be in Panama City looking for an apt. Depending on how things go I might just be heading your way at the right time. Give me a call on Thursday. Killing threads since 2004.
  2. Uh...well if you feel like taking a chance and making a trip into NYC I gave one to the Goodwill on 181st Street about 5 months ago! Pretty much the exact thing you are looking for. Hated to give it away but when I moved I literally did not have enough room in the van for a little frying pan. Killing threads since 2004.
  3. Probably some superheated water too. Talk about one heck of a sauna! Killing threads since 2004.
  4. Well, I'd bet if it was on right now as this thread was posted you'd have at least as many people as are posting here watching! Chances are I'd probably end up watching the whole thing. Of course, without a job at the moment my time alotted for wasting isn't exactly in short supply. Killing threads since 2004.
  5. Do you think you would really want the info out there? I mean, if it's a given? I don't know what I think. I know how annoyed I get when they announce in Georgia that there might be snow next week and as of 3 hours later there isn't a single loaf of bread or jug of milk left in the stores. I know that is trivializing the idea, but I can only imagine how people would act if they knew that life as we know it is just about over. I'd like to think everyone would just go out and do some crazy shit and enjoy the hell out of the last few days, but I can't imagine it being anything more than unenjoyable mass hysteria. Enough so that it might be better to just have no clue. I guess I'm happy enough with my life right now that if it happened I wouldn't have any regrets. I can imagine there are about as many different feelings about this as there are people on the planet. Killing threads since 2004.
  6. If the bunkhouse idea doesn't work out, how about flying into Orlando and renting a car large enough to crash in. If you look around I'm sure you can find a car discounted enough to be cheaper than a hotel, plus, you can jump and party at a different dropzone each day, and when it's over just crash. I sleep in my car at the dropzone and could hardly be more comfortable. I have a Dodge Intrepid and the passenger seat lays all the way down onto the back seat so it's almost like having a little bed in there. Originally I did it when I arrived really late and didn't want to pitch my tent in the dark, and I've never pitched my tent since! Killing threads since 2004.
  7. That was one of the eerie things living in NYC right after Sept. 11. You could always hear the jets flying, but it was totally different on a clear day when you could see them. I lived in the flight path to La Guardia so I think half the strangeness came from the lack of regular air travel. It seemed so quiet. Speaking of stadium fly byes...a friend of mine just about wet himself when 4 F-16s (I think) did a flyby right over his apartment building on their way to Yankee stadium. That was one funny phone call because I had just watched the flyby on tv and he thought he was under attack. He was so mad at me that I let him go on and on speculating about what it was for about 30 minutes before I told him about the stadium. Killing threads since 2004.
  8. Funny you mention that. The exterminator was here at the house yesterday doing his thing and asked me about the cast on my leg. I told him about injuring myself and then he asked about the guys on the cover of the Nov. Parachutist that he saw somwhere in the house while doing his thing. He said "I've seen people skydive before so I know that's not it. What are they doing?" Killing threads since 2004.
  9. You should head down to the Roaming DZ Dublin Boogie in Georgia this coming March. Killing threads since 2004.
  10. I just switched from Sprint to Verizon and have been quite happy. My sprint phone barely picked up a signal on the highways immediately around Atlanta. My verizon service has been strong throughout all of the rural travelling I've done since I got it. I used to use a Nextel phone on occasion for work and never had anything but trouble. The whole walkie-talkie feature actually drives me kind of crazy too. One of my big pet peeves so I hated when people could contact me using it on the work phone. Killing threads since 2004.
  11. If you are going to the City that's a hell of an expensive cab ride. Drive isn't too bad if you've got someone willing to head out there to pick you up and you plan it right with traffic. Killing threads since 2004.
  12. I was looking around for something like this a few months ago as several people in my family asked. Something like a "Skydiving for Dummies" video. Plain language but informative. My dad watched the Bridge Day coverage on OLN with me and he really liked the segment where they showed a BASE rig and disected it explaining how it works, etc. He asked if there was a video like that for skydiving. I would certainly purchase a copy or two. Killing threads since 2004.
  13. Article here My reactions were never quite as bad as the ones that get written about, but it always made me wonder why I wasn't getting better! Killing threads since 2004.

  15. Oy...I'm not sick, but everyone else in my house is so I figure it is just a matter of time for me. I used to take echinacea and would often end up feeling more sick. Found out from a doc that it's not uncommon for people w/ seasonal/hay feaver allergies to have a bad reaction because it's essentially like ingesting ragweed. Might help w/ the cold but can cause some allergy like symptoms! Or something like that. Feel better! For some reason when I'm sick I always crave swiss cheese and crackers, and sometimes with cut up summer sausage on it. Mmmm... Killing threads since 2004.
  16. Woo hoo! Unless I work some magic between now and Christmas there is a fairly good chance that my next jump won't happen until that boogie, and I've already arranged for the time off of my new position, so I'm anxiously waiting! Killing threads since 2004.
  17. "The Tingler" - http://www.sitincomfort.com/tingler.html Everyone needs one of these, and I would bet that most people don't have one. A few years ago my sister bought one for everyone in the family and it was one of the best gifts ever! It's a most amazing head rub/massage kind of thing. Very basic, not much too it. Very easy to scoff at and think it's not worth the $20, but I would say that at least half of the people that have used mine have gone out and bought one. I'll bring mine to the next boogie at The Farm so people can try it out and spread the word! Killing threads since 2004.
  18. Hey Stephen, Whether or not I can make it is a bit up in the air because I might be out of town, but if one of the Tally people can't swing by let me know and if I'm going I'll come down and pick you up. jason. Killing threads since 2004.
  19. I have had this same thing happen off and on since the day I subscribed. I have always assumed it had something to do w/ the computer and not the site. Maybe the cookies or something and how it refreshes in between views. I've used three different computers to read dz.com, and there were times that it was happening on one and when I went upstairs it wasn't happening on the other. That's the primary reason I blamed the computer and figured it was something on my end. Killing threads since 2004.
  20. The way that Google ranks listings is by how many other sights link to the site in question. For instance, the more people that have a link to Jan's site on their own webpage, the higher in the listing Jan's page would appear. Killing threads since 2004.
  21. Funny you say that. When I lived in Cincinnati I lived in the Hyde Park neighborhood. The neighborhood is primarily all young professionals that all work for Procter & Gamble. It was a well known fact that "The Hyde Park Kroger" was one of the hottest singles spots in town. A few great bars in the area, but it's the Kroger that took the cake. Killing threads since 2004.
  22. Good to see you online Ian. Hope it's working out alright moving back there to make some money! Killing threads since 2004.
  23. Your pics reminded me of my little cousins (2 and 4 at the time) last Christmas. We had Christmas Eve dinner at their home and they opened our gifts to them that evening. My brother and I bought the younger one a little "diva" microphone that plays through the radio. My dad was always our Santa, and the Santa in the neighborhood so he's loved getting the old suit back out. He came in and both kids were a little scared but warmed up to him and had a good time. Shortly after he left they started whining a little bit about going to bed so my dad (who was back w/ us in civilian attire) grabbed the microphone and snuck away into the kitchen and then all of a sudden Santa's voice came out of nowhere to tell the little boys and girls that they better get to bed or he might have to skip their house! It was absolutely priceless. I would give anything to have had a video camera on when that happened. That said, it really freaks me out when my dad shows up as Santa, because he's really the only Santa I've ever known. Everytime I hear his Ho Ho Ho I'm immediately right back in our basement in New Hampshire asking him where he could possibly have parked his reindeer because they wouldn't fit on our roof! I'm usually not all that excited about the holidays, but for the last few years since I've been around some little kids that get so excited about it I've had quite a good time.
  24. Hey Uncle Whit - is that tag on your car or your new "Boogie Mobile?" Killing threads since 2004.
  25. They look so cute Marianne! Paul and I played a few rounds of pool a couple weekends ago at The Farm and I was asking him if he was excited about Christmas coming up. He was a little more concerned with trying to hit the balls at the time, but it's good to see that he's got his priorities in order now!!!!!
