because a TIFF is a lossless file. JPG is lossy. doing some reading on basic photo file types and comparisons could help you understand a lot. computers are the devil.

they use the same basic balloon idea to launch their Airborne troops in Korea. it has a platform for (i think) 6 jumpers and is controlled by a winch. it avoids costly aircraft maintenance and large DZs. i could've sworn i saw a similar set up for sale here in the classifieds a year or so ago, as well. good luck with yours!

i don't remeber the numbers but they were the ones between my shoulder blades. i fell 35ft and landed with my back perpendicular across a tree stump. heal fast!

right tib/fib (motorcycle) scapula, 2 vertabrae, 6 ribs and a bonus collapsed lung (tree accident) no parachuting busts.

pretty much... i just BASE jump because i'm a total loser otherwise and when people find out i that i jump they are suddenly intrigued and think i'm neat. then i trick them into buying me drinks. oh, and chicks dig it too.

hell, my chest strap buckle can open a beer if i needed a tool. you got me on the quicklinks... but i don't do anything with those other than make sure they're not loose. but you're right, if i had a t-stake, it would probably prevent some IEDs from blowing up around me... ...plenty of sand here.

first, you won't need it... somebody's got a car battery you can use... second, airport security is far from a constant. i flew to germany last summer with my rig on, hook knife and all. not so much as a second look. third, if you do want a stake... they're about $0.99 at kmart for a 4-pack. check the camping section.
