i couldn't agree more... but that's why the -m wasn't on this poll. i've ridden a 150-m with what seemed to have a built in turn... but there was plenty of f111 on that thing to get me down safely. i've also ridden my r-max118, and it flew beautifully. to me it just seems that while PD definitely makes great canopies... they are overrated, and maybe even overpriced. in comparison to other products out there that are worthy adversaries that are underrated. on the poll here, you can see that everyone has been voting for PDRs, as i expected... but really no one has written in a reason they think they are superior. in retrospect... those that have flown the others, trust them just as much if not more. anyway, thanks to everyone for your input... i think i know where i stand now, after all. Cheers!
-
Sid, thanks for the input, but like i said... i'm mainly looking for high wingloadings. i'm jumping a small reserve and i'm curious as to control and landing characteristics at these canopies when they are at there "max" weight limits. thanks again... blue skies!
-
just trying to get an idea where people jumping and USING their reserves opinion and experience lies. i'm looking more for experienced jumpers, with high reserve wingloads (1.8 give or take) and possibly based on their own comparisons between these three. like anything... i'm looking for a value with confidence in the product. thanks!

was that seriously your point?? so no one told you what to do to get all those ratings? maybe you just decided you wanted them, and paid someone for them. i see. ok wait, now it's not enough... or there shouldn't be any... everyone's got an opinion... just try to pick good ones. by the way, 3000+ days defending your right to be an asshole.

damn you for talking about old val kilmer movies!!! i was all excited to watch a new vid from Canuck... and i only realized i'd already downloaded it, when i saw my comment on it. ??? DAMN IT! it was a good vid though. and that movie was pretty funny too...

oh sorry, but he was referring to jimmyp, from Apex BASE!
-
HAHAHAHAH! that gave me a good laugh... i don't think there's that many 16 year olds getting into BASE these days! jk, both jimmy's are kool in my book. btw, that clip of claire brought a tear to my eye. you silly bastard.

the easiest way i've found after having to do this many times... route a pullup-cord thru your lines (keeping them in order) then pull the lines thru the bumper. now attach the link and secure like normal. the bumper will be above the link around the lines... just grab the lines and (pull) slide the bumper down over the link. for some reason, that makes it significantly easier. got it?

i'm wearing camo right now. it apparently blends in with the desert or something. i want a big camo ball too, where do i order one??
-
i think in my case that it's simply because i'm a hard headed bastard and i like the abuse.
-
yes, i wear a seatbelt. only because of my own experiences. #1 wreck - no belt - broken jaw on the steering wheel and smashed out all of my teeth. #2 wreck - belt on - asleep behind the wheel on the highway (cruise control @75) went off the road, mowed down 6 healthy trees - unscathed. that settled it for me. ~E

dude, that's sweet! nice matching rigs... so maybe i'll see you both out one night this summer!??? ~E

and see if you can be the first to hit 1000 posts filled entirely with smilies. ok, seriously... great post. live it, learn it, love it... or leave it.

that's why i had the "dynamic corners" option on my colostamy bag. clean exit.
-
... also what kind of socks are good for BASE? what do you reccomend for underwear, too???
-
thanks tom, much appreciated!!
-
just for my own curiosity... could you or anyone throw up a picture of what that would look like? it used to cross my mind, especially when packing quick in the dark for the next low banger... but i sat for a while dicking around with my rig and couldn't seem to "mess it up". i'm sure it can be done as you say... but it freaks me out that i still don't know what it might look like!! ~E

i have a "master key" that works great for all padlocks. it's called a bolt cutter. it's great for "aquiring" military vehicles in a hurry... although, for BASE applications... not a good idea.

normally i jump in only a tube sock. condoms are for sailors.

EMF waves (electro-magnetic field) at varying levels of course, are created by every electronic device. extreme high levels and exposure can have adverse affects on the human body. ask a welder why you don't want to lie your body between the welding and the grounding cables. ultimately, negative effects should only occur in people with continuous direct exposure to high output devices. i'm not a scientist, but these are the things i learned many moons ago. although, some of those emitters i had to straddle in MD may have made me sterile. ~E
