    hey jim, what's up? nice to see you on the fourms. ok Mel, well the secret is out i guess. i will be there, arriving sometime around midnight on fri. just curious, do i need a tent to camp? i have a tendancy to either sleep in my car or where ever i last fall down for the night. but if it's some law or something, i guess i could bring a tent. not sure if my Beef brethren are joining or not. so i may be annoying people i don't know for some FF jumping. anyway, C ya' all there...     i say that all us BASE jumpers unite... build a big boat and sail off to unchartered territories, inhabit a new continent and start new lives in what would become a FREE country... ok well, i'll shut up now.

    i tend to do the same on most H&Ps. only once had the PC brush my foot ... early pull, slower rotation... however you want to look at it. plus it's just way more fun.

    i'd suggest getting someone to make you a velcro one like aggiedave said. anyone who can run a sewing machine (rigger) should be able to make one real easy. i started out using the bungie stow combo, but switched to velcro, main reason is it's a lot easier and faster to use.

    this is partially why i never posted questions like this when i was starting out. i only listened to people who knew me and that i trusted. there's always someone out there to tell you what you don't want to hear. while what everyone here is saying is right... it's still ultimately up to you. i don't know you, but i don't doubt for a minute that you can "handle" it. i only had about 150 jumps when i started jumping my first eliptical at a WL of 1.5-1.6. i handled it fine. it's when you think you know the canopy enough after even 100 jumps that you start pushing it more and more when maybe you don't. just be careful, get the fast and crazy stuff out of your system up high, take it in easy down low, even after you "think" you know the canopy. trust yourself first, not what others say they think you can do. only you will know what still intimidates you. just my .02 edited to add: currency is more key than jump #s in my opinion. back then i was also doing an average 50jumps a week.

    i would stick with your current canopy, the one you're already used to. do a day jump prior like they said you have to anyway... on your first, get out low with a "regular" jumper from the DZ checking the spot for you. just my thoughts... night jumps make people nervous, but IMO, it's just another jump. you just have to be more careful of course. you'll hopefully get all you need to know by the s+ta 's brief before you jump.

    well, it just looks like a parody to me. the WTC doesn't have anything to do with iraq. i just don't think it's justified to blame the US for bombing children. it is a problem, but these are not uncommon problems in any warzone. personally, i don't think we should be in iraq, mainly cuz i don't care about their country and we have enough of our own problems to deal with internally. but i can't change that myself. and kids will continue to get blown up by the factions running wild there long after we leave. how do you fix that? i sure don't know. and just for the record, i hate fox news.

    what does a 6 year old girl have to do with iraq? bystanders get killed all the time everywhere. i never layed blame on the commercial airlines for landing there planes in buildings full of innocent people. at least the US is not intentionally bombing civilians. maybe i'm wrong.
