well, that's pretty much the way i remember it... except that i had a gun to his head and told him he had to jump or i'd throw his dead body off. actually, that's not true. i was much further up the tower when he jumped. and i already told him i was glad he was alright. ~E

wow, very interesting indeed. i come back and read this after a couple of weeks and i still haven't learned a thing... i thought i was bad, but i guess because i'd rather go jump off of something than sit online and fuel a bitch fest...

of course i meant "invisible" as the wind you can't see with chalk or toilet paper your letting go at the exit point. ha, and i'm an idiot, so don't take anything i say too seriously... ~E

dude, you crack my $hit up!!! while that's probably completely true... i'd be willing to bet invisible and/or unforseen wind currents are going to give you many more off heading openings than simple adjustments to WL's... and even the most perfect pack job won't prevent that. just ask the guy who went thru the window. ~E

i sold my house a few years back after it doubled in value in about 4yrs. anyway, i blew thru all that money in about a month on drugs and booze... (and a couple toys). now i got nothing but a few nice rigs... and some kick ass skydiving and BASE jumping friends. i wouldn't go back now even if i had the chance! ~E

i think that's a good question... my general answer for any question like that is that people are stupid. most people want to make themselves feel that they are special or better than other people... whether they admit it or not. i don't think it's bad to be proud of your heritage, but bragging about it because a certain background makes you superior at something is a rash of $hit. personally, i'm convinced that every last bastard on earth is racist or prejudiced. most will not admit it. but as long as there are bull$hit programs like affirmative action, and other "race balancing" enactments and admissions, there will always be prejudism. call me what you want, but i'll make fun of anyones ethnicity or heritage or whatever just as easily as i will my own. you want fair treatment? why is it ok for the word "nigger" to be used in rap songs, but not by a white guy in ANY environment? i may be getting off on a tangent, but this stuff really bugs me... anyone that's offended by a word alone, deserves it. toughen up! anyway, peace love and hairgrease... ~E

well, i didn't watch it because i don't own a tv. i hate being inside and only have time for the internet when i can't sleep. as far as i'm concerned, as long as i'm alive and can say "i do that", i guess i'll just look that much "kewler" in front of whuffos and the like that are bouncing in, right? i think the concept of all these shows and media coverage is good overall though. hell, i'd let a network make a movie out of my life, but you can only handle so many gangster/mob/prison movies. extreme sports are just a plus. and i'd like to say, it is like winning a prize reading most of your posts! cheers! ~E

well, i was going to give him my reactor, but... after almost no response, and the fact that i was secretly trying to kill him, i convinced him he'd be alright without a rig.

just PRETEND you work there, as security or something. then make up some elaborate story about how the whole place almost burned down due to some chemical spraying to rid the fresh fruit section of roaches and that it could be unsafe to still be in there... just watching out for others' safety, of course. and continue on your way. ok, maybe that won't work.

As I had the patience to learn BASE after learning many valuable skills attained only in skydiving, I’m partial to minimum skydive jump numbers as a pre-requisite to a FJC. I think at this point, everyone at least understands the logic behind such pre-reqs. Of course there is always danger and erroneous actions lurking over every intended jump, many risks can be minimized by the proper time, research, and training invested into something as dangerous as BASE jumping. Last night though, contrary to my beliefs, I took a whuffo with 0 jumps on his first base jump. He was a printer by trade, but decided not to do that work anymore. I agreed, and carried him up to the exit point at 700 ft. I gave him no instruction at all, I figured he wouldn’t listen anyway, and gave a 3,2,1 C-ya’, and off he went. Before even a 2 second delay, he had already over-rotated two or three times. He never even went for his PC, probably out of disorientation and pure adrenaline. It was sheer terror that I felt as I watched my old friend, HP deskjet 5550, burn in and explode into pieces. Fortunately for me, I had a shovel in my trunk, and I buried him at a nearby graveyard. You will always be missed my beloved HP, but easily replaced. I will learn from that mistake though… learning, skill, and of all the things in this nature, patience is a true virtue. ~E

i think you're right about the 120 being the biggest... either way, hold onto your shoes when you go from a sabre2 to katana. that's a huge diff. i got a handful of jumps on a ka107, it loves to stay in a dive (like a velocity) and has real easy front riser pressure. just my $.02 ~E
