Got to jump my new Velocity canopy today
blitzkrieg replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
ha! i know that guy. and you're right too, he probably never has a problem when he's packing for himself! ??? and the velo is a very fun canopy. but i'm totally sold on the AWESOME openings of the Xaos. -
Best Performance wingloading....
blitzkrieg replied to vdschoor's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
i have several hundred jumps on a stiletto 120 loaded at about 1.8. for that canopy i think that's about the best performance you can get out of it. it's a great canopy, but old technology. like others were saying, if PD is your thing, i think the katana would perform better under the higher wing loads. but a step down like that would be dramatic. personally, i'll stay away from the leg breaking openings. just my .02, which is probably worth less where you live. -
wow, that's crazy. i didn't know bombs actually killed people. i guess it's a good thing iraq doesn't have any WMDs. maybe you should look at some pictures of the WTC aftermath.

thanks salsa, that's what i was waiting for. it would be a cold day in hell that i'd stand by and let my "president" live if he and his sons or cronies were running around partying and killing and raping whomever they wanted with no one to stop them. them hussein boys were such nice kids. what a shame.

i currently use a sw99 as my main, but i like the USPs very much also. although, i think the .40 full size has a better overall feel and balance than the compact, but IMO that's generally true with any gun. the p229 is a great weapon as well, and has been proven over time. bottom line is, go with what you think feels better for you, depending on what you really will do with it. you really can't go wrong IMO with any of the guns mentioned here. even the 92, which i think is generally crap that it's standard issue, is decent and easy to shoot, and a lot of guys i know by them and shoot the hell out of them just because that's what they carry for work. hope that helps just a little.

Icarus NZ story (Icarus Project)...
blitzkrieg replied to CanopyPiloting's topic in Gear and Rigging
well my bad, but maybe they should change their name. -
i have to agree with dave on this one. as i own an odysee and a micron. the micron fits tight and doesn't swim around on me at the same time being extremely comfortable. the harness truly becomes an extension of me. where as i love the odysee too, but without my chest strap cinched down very tight feels funny and loose on my back. either way, i feel much more comfortable knowing the skyhook is back there. when i get rich, i'll get rid of that javelin for another micron. just my .02- edited to add picture... "what looks unsafe about that?!"

Icarus NZ story (Icarus Project)...
blitzkrieg replied to CanopyPiloting's topic in Gear and Rigging
so you're telling me someone will actually respond to this email address? maybe the company should spend a little more time in R&D with regards to customer service, IMO that goes a lot further than any swoop. and what's with that web site? more info or none would be a little less insulting. -
thanks pope... that's what i was looking for.

i just like the general message from this editorial... if you're looking for some deep insightful underlying meaning within, i can't help you. i'm just happy doing things my way for a country i've been serving as a bullet catcher for a decade now, and don't want to see that effort go to waste. i cannot speak for all americans, mainly because like any people in this world i find some right out embarrassing. but i've learned foreign languages of countries i've had no interest in every visiting, let alone defending, simply to ease my understanding and acceptance of their culture. retrospectively, i've been disgusted with the complete ignorance of individuals that live beside me, that think they have every right to vote for my future that know nothing about anything more than what's going on in their neighborhood gang. anyway, sorry. i could go on and on, just my opinions that don't mean anything to anyone but me... which is all that matters. take the article for what it's worth... it was a free post! ~E

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost ! entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! "In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so! But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE. It is Time for America to Speak up. ~apparently from a Tampa newspaper editorial... either way i like what this says.

i can relate! this kentucky/tennessee area is the most depressing place i've ever lived! i have yet to pull out my sunglasses. it's been raining, windy and generally shitty out for the last 3 months.

i tend to agree with tuna to a degree. most sampled music of that nature is "musically" talentless. and i DO listen to every type of music i can get my hands on. but everyone has their right to their own opinion. don't like it, don't listen to it. also, don't blast it in your car next to me with the windows down and force me to listen to it. a pentatonic scale is simply a scale with five notes per octave. probably the most common thing in any type of music. of course someone who knows nothing about writing or composing music would think that sounds intensely confusing.

i concur.
