I always get a kick out of the tandem students who arrive with their mascara and lipstick just perfect.....heehee....you can always spot the whuffos! AND.....I know one skydiver who wears only Banana Republic clothes to the dz.....khaki shorts, shirt tucked in, nice belt...I mean LOOSEN UP! Anne

joe's got it....if it is construction or an accident...I will drive in the open lane, cut in front of you, and you WILL let me in. For just stop and go traffic, all lanes, I try to be patient. How do we get to be cutters? Practice!

You are not sick...you are a skydiver...that is what we do!! I drive past a lovely set of five flags on the way to work every day....and I always think what the landing pattern at the DZ would be if the same winds were there.... And I love the bumper sticker idea..... Anne

Well....Marc hit the highlights.....that was the longest first date I have ever been on....23 hours....Do any of you know how weird it is to talk to someone online for six months, then somehow they end up ironing their pants in their underwear in your guest room?? Ok, maybe it is just me....... My date was asleep (and snoring) on the couch by 11:30.... So, Marc, I guess it is my turn to drive to Chicago to go to Crate & Barrel. Percentage of times Medic and I have pulled off the crazy dive he has planned for us 100% : 9 : 0 Did a tandem with video on Friday ($250 value: free!!!!) Hysterical video..I am having a blast....newbie tandemmaster is WAY serious! Two great dives with Medic on Saturday, a couple 8ish ways, two hop and pops.....Great jumping weekend... I, like Jimbo, lost altitude awareness kicking out of line twists..i eventually kicked out of them, but I was WAY low by the time i was controlling that canopy. But the dumbest?? I kept quiet about another jumper's gear. I thought his chest strap looked weird, but rather than saying something, or asking about it, I figured he knew what he was doing. I was at a new DZ and he has thousands of jumps. Turns out I was right...he had misrouted it. He landed fine, if a little shaken....and I learned a HUGE lesson....it is better to ask too many questions than to let even the tiniest thing go. I used the one handd method, til I couldn't pull the cutaway handle, so I used two hands. I still drill the one handle. I sure wish someone had mentioned the peling part of the cutaway....i think that would have made it a lot less stressful!!! The worst that can happen?? I blew out both my eardrums while i was a student.....spent two days experiencing vertigo (which is only fun for the first two minutes).....had to sit for a month....then only hop and pops for another month..... My excuse?? I made only two jumps....my three year old nephew and my nine month old nephew were in town....i see them so rarely!!! Number of regional director's sit suit wings I blew out 1 : 2 : 0 Highlights of the weekend include: 1. Spending a lot of time with my adorable nephews who were in from Maryland 2. Flying my canopy.....I really have a blast messing around up there! 3. Bonding with awesome skychicks like Sunshine....she rocks! 4. Ending the weekend with a heart to heart with Terri....solid advice and laughter are always appreciated.
