  1. So I guess you guts don't want to hear that during my high school existence I went to six proms and they all kicked ass... My senior prom date was the best...we were just pals, he was from a different school. He was there if I wanted him to be and let me goof off with my friends if I wanted. He did not even object to me dancing with my long-time crush...what a guy!!! Anne
  2. Everytime I have gotten to dz.com today I have had to type in my name and password. Yes, I check the box for remember my password....Any idea why I have to keep typing all my stuff in?? Anne

  5. I would clone myself...send "me" to work while I slept in and went skydiving...... She could also do all the cleaning around my house, and when she has a spare moment, she could come to the DZ and pack for me.... Anne
  6. So I guess you guys don't want to hear about my dilemma....my refund check is approximately equal to the cost of a new Sabre2..... (No, Anne, pay off the credit cards....pay off the credit cards...) so tempting... Anne

  11. On my one and only cut-away (knock on wood) I was under an open canopy at 3000ft...I couldn't steer it. I spent the next 1000 ft trying to clear the problem, then I chopped. I used my altimeter to approximate how much time I had to attempt to clear before I had to make a decision. I truly don't understand not having an altimeter on to look at both in freefall and under canopy. I use mine under canopy to learn the characteristics, among ither things. I have about 100 jumps on my canopy and am still playing with front risers and spirals and floating in rear risers...and the altimeter helps me evaluate the effects of such moves on my canopy and altitude. What is the arguement AGAINST wearing one...just in case you want to check it??? Anne
  12. I have made 171 of my 172 jumps with my contacts...I have really tight-fitting goggles and have had no problems. I think that the goggles are the most important part. Anne
  13. 1. That is what the JM wanted. 2. We were planning a second pass anyway....The student/JM were doing a SW jumprun and were planning to take it really far out due to the winds screaming out of the SW between 2500 and 4000..... We then wanted a more SSW jumprun and wnated to be in closer cuz we wouldn't be under canopy til below the crazy winds. Idally I think we should have done our pass first os there would be no chance of us getting over them in any way....but I left that up to the JM Anne
  14. Men are such simple creatures, really Anne
  15. I did not get chewed for asking for a go around...I got chewed out for not insisting on the spot that I wanted. I left the plane cuz I was being whimpy about demanding a second go around to get exactly what I wanted. The result was that Tina and I had to ride risers to get back, and I knew that was going to be the case. That was what the ass chewing was, not that I asked for another pass... And I agree that I should have been very clear with the pilot about what I wanted. Thankfully I have learned that lesson without anything really bad having to happen! Anne
  16. JM wanted to get out first and was taking the spot a bit long. The winds were hauling ass at 3000 ft, and the student is a little guy under a 230 (i think) so they wanted him to be out a ways. I wanted to be quite a bit closer and thought that I had conveyed that to the pilot. My biggest mistake was accepting a spot I was uncomfortable with. BTW.. the JM and student took forever to climb out and ended up landing off.... Anne

  18. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your weekend, especially after your less than perfect Fla trip...now just JUMP!!!! Anne
  19. I just wanted tol share an important lesson I learned today. I was spotting for me and Canopycudler. There were four of us in the C-182, then the JM and student got out. We were getting a second pass. When I asked for the second pass I meant that I wanted us closer to the DZ. The pilot just basically turned in place. From the ground, the DZO corrected direction of jump-run. Then The pilot looked at us like, "Get out!" I knew that the spot was WAY long, even on a high wind day. I called the cut anyway and we got out. We both held rear risers the whoe way back....but we landed in the landing area safely. What I learned though (after kinda getting an ass chewing by a JM) is that I have the RIGHT to ask for a go-around for any reason. Just cuz the pilot wants me out or the DZO told the pilot where to go does not eliminate my right or responsibilty to get out where I think it is safe. I just grew the balls to tell that pilot EXACTLY what I want!!! (BTW...on a later jump I spotted again, got the jump run that I wanted and the spot was perfect!!!!) Anne
  20. OK, those firsts were all yesterday....got 6 jumps in today...spotted three loads ( I think) and learned a ton about spotting.... Anne
  21. Ok... 0:10:4 What an awesome weekend... Two of the cases are owed for sure....first headdown (thanks murel) and first time landing in the hula.... The other two are more obscure, but I'll pay anyway cuz I am so damn cool for having accomplished them..... First spinning pieces that actually worked (ended up doing that twoice yesterday!!!) and first points of the hill....now THAT was cool...launched a compressed accordian out of the otter and it was rock steady...got second point still on hill....broke to spin the pieces and we were off the hill....still very cool! Anne
  22. The weekend is only half over and.... ??:4:4 What a day!!!! I would tell you what my four are for, but I wanna wait to see if I owe more after tomorrow!!!! YEEEHAW!!!!! Anne
