  1. Actually, they don't have a flashlight, they just BELIEVE that they can see in the dark and have FAITH that they are walking in the right direction. If they walk into a wall they just turn in another direction and say it was God's will that they get a black eye. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  2. First of all, the fact that you run into that problem tells me that you don't fly very often so of course hassles in the security line don't bother you. Second, the main reason for that problem is the airports nickel and diming the customers. Ever since the airlines started charging to check bags, people try to carry everything on. You occasionally had a few assholes that did it before that, but now I rarely get on a flight where the last to board aren't forced to check bags because there is no room left. 3. I wasn't bitching about not being able to carry it on. I wasn't even bitching about the liquid limits dumb as they may be. I was bitching about the lazy, under trained drones that the TSA hires to pretend to make us all safer. I fly at least twice a week. I probably go through security more in a month than the average American goes through in years. I can go on for days about the stupidity that I see at the "security" checkpoints. One trip I got to my destination and found a 12 inch flathead screwdriver that I had forgotten was in my backpack. I carry that backpack on with me so it went through security screening. As long as they hire morons, don't give them the proper training and pay them too little, security at the airports will continue to be an illusion. All they are doing at this point is wasting peoples time and annoying everyone to keep that illusion going. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  5. Great, that is you, but you aren't calling for 1 or even a handful of peaceful Muslims to denounce the radicals, you are saying that all must stand up and do it. So until ALL Christians world wide denounce what those radicals are doing, I think at the very least no churches should be allowed to be built anywhere. Obviously, that is a ridiculous statement but no more so than anyone who says that the peaceful Muslims are all supporting the radicals if they don't stand up and shout otherwise. I don't really think any religion should be stopped. I think they are all just as stupid as the other, but I have no problem with people believing in whatever they want provided they don't force it on others. I was just trying to make a point. 6. A few weeks ago, I was in Seoul for a week. All over the news at the time was a big to do because a bunch of Christians started to attack/disrupt the Buddhists while they were performing their ceremonies. Groups of Christians stormed into the Buddhist temples while they were preying and started to hold Christian ceremonies in the middle of the temples. They also went around beheading any statues of Buddha. Where is the outrage. Unless all Christians world wide stand up together and denounce what those bad apples did, I feel that Christianity should no longer be allowed to be practiced in any civilized country. All Churches should be shut down immediately and anyone wearing a cross should be considered a terrorist and treated as such until otherwise proven innocent. 7. Attitude is a big part of the problem with the current crop of TSA agents. Maybe if they were treated better (trusted more and paid better) they wouldn't have the attitudes that they do, but I wouldn't count on it. I will give you an example of my regular experience with TSA. I travel almost every week. One of my big complaints has always been the stupid 3.4 oz liquid limit for carry ons. The biggest problem I have with it comes down to toothpaste. I hate having to use the sample size ones but there aren't a lot of other options. In the US they sell these pear shaped plastic bottles of that are 4.6 oz so they are too big. A few years ago when I was in Canada I found that they sell bottles that look very similar but they are 100ml which is legal to carry on. I ended up buying a ton of them so that I can use them when I travel. At least every other trip or so I get a TSA agent that tells me that I can't bring my toothpaste on the plane because it is too big and I will have to throw it out. Each time I very nicely point out that it is of legal size. I almost immediately get an angry response saying something to the affect of "I do this every day and I know what I am doing, it is too big and you have to throw it out." I usually respond again nicely with something to the affect of "please take a look at the size on it, it is not the same as the ones you see every day" Usually they refuse to look at it and insist that I have to throw it out. I end up calling a supervisor over who when I explain the problem picks it up, looks at it and says "100ml, thats allowed, what's the problem"? All of the training in the world isn't going to fix that. I also think that we have too many TSA agents running around the airports. If they replaced them with people that were actually able to do the job, they could probably get away with substantially fewer agents. Then they could pay more to the well trained agents in order to keep them. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  8. For probably the first time ever, I completely agree with you. You just enforced the point I was trying to make. Wackjobs are wackjobs regardless of what particular flavor of imaginary friend they follow. Not everyone who "believes" is a wackjob but the radicals are the ones that make the news whether Muslim or other. Personally I don't believe in any imaginary friend, but I think everyone should have the right to believe in whatever they choose as long as they aren't trying to impose those beliefs on others. Now here is the part where Skyrider will say that the Muslims try to do exactly that. Then we can argue that so do Christians and we go round and round. My point was that there are plenty of peaceful Muslims just like there are plenty of peacful Christians, but certain people only care about the radicals because then they can feel good about being bigots. 9. Probably about the same time as the peaceful Christians come out to stop the abortion clinic protests and bombings and killings. Just cuz they aren't out there stopping the radicals, doesn't mean they agree with them. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  10. Some even understand what those fought and died for Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  11. Then you simply don't say that part! Is that too hard? Agree, but as I said in my mind it devalues the whole thing. It doesn't belong there. It was put in for stupid reasons and has no business being there. Children have enough reason to single out other kids and pick on them. A child refusing to say part of the pledge is just one more thing that the other kids can pick on them for. Not that any of that matters since as Quade already mentioned. Very few kids have any idea what they are saying when they recite the pledge anyway. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  12. Remove that stupid "under god" line and I support you. As far as I am concerned as long as that is in the pledge it devalues the whole thing. I am more than happy to pledge my allegiance to the USA and it's flag, but not to some silly mythology. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  13. A republican who has no problem with the mosque being built and who is opposed to the death penalty. You mean you can be a republican and not blindly support all of their policies? You mean you can think for yourself about things and reach your own conclusion based on facts and evidence? That should land you in the republican dog house for quite some time
  14. Spoken like a true liberal My point made yet again but by another Thank You Unles you were looking at yourself in the mirror when you posted this Now that's just funny. I know Mark pretty well. Mark is about as far from a liberal as you can get. He probably dislikes Obama more than you do. He is also a reasonable person that is willing to listen to and investigate actual facts rather than blindly agree with the right. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  15. I despise the KKK and everything they stand for but I certainly defend their right to exist and practice wherever they choose. That being said, the argument that people against the mosque are making is that "they have the right to do it but they shouldn't because it offends people". I would agree with that statement with regards to the KKK building at the site of the MLK shooting. I would not however have a problem with a baptist church being build at the site of the MLK shooting. Just like I would have a problem with Al Queda building at ground zero but have no problems with Muslims building a Mosque there. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  16. I also feel that this is not about religion Thanks for the answers. OK, then to go back to your original analogy: So you don't feel all of Islam is responsible, but you do feel that all of Islam should be punished or are you one of the people that just think they should not do it because it upsets people. If that is the case, what do you think about them trying to stop the construction of a Mosque on TN? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  17. Since you still have not answered the very simple question in my original post you leave us no choice but to think that. Instead of just answering the question, you chose to play silly games. You made a statement. I wanted to make sure I understand your position so I asked a question. You refused to answer the question. Play all the games you want but the fact of the matter is you won't answer it. Let's stop playing games. I will ask you a few very straight forward questions. Answer them without bullshit word games if you dare. I know you won't because that would actually force you to state your position for a change which would not leave you the wiggle room you need to flip flop later. 1) Do you oppose the building of the proposed community center/mosque 2) Do you feel that all of Islam should be held responsible for what occurred on 9/11 I could ask others, but lets start there. 18. No, but I am starting to think that some of the people on this forum and the KKK aren't that far off. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  19. So in other words, you can't defend your bigoted position so you choose to come after me. Pretty much what you do in just about every post of yours that I have ever read. You just aren't worth the effort. Thanks for playing. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  20. I'm sorry, was there a part of the question you don't understand? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  21. I don't really care what you "think" how about you respond to the actual post instead of playing some stupid game! And a responce I will give if you dont try and put words in my mouth or tell me what I think YOUR game got crushed Live with it I have no idea what you are talking about and nowhere did I put words in your mouth or tell you what you think. I am not sure what your first language is but in English "?" means I am asking a question. So once again, how about you respond to what I wrote instead of playing childish games! 23. So you think it is ok to lump the KKK and Muslims into the same category? A better analogy would be to say that we would have a problem with Al Queda building a building at ground zero. It was Al Queda not all Muslims that flew the planes into the WTC was it not? If you wanted a fair comparison you could say that we would have a problem with a church being built where MLK was shot but that wouldn't fit into your lie because you know nobody would have a problem with it. There is about as much connection between Al Queda and the general Muslim population as there is between the KKK and Christians. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  24. You will be arrested, that's why we choose to live here in a free society and not there. What's your point? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
