  2. Preserved for posterity thanks to the internet Nowadays people hear stories about their great grandfather the racist. Their great grandchildren will be able to read their posts about it. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  3. Personally, I think the government should get completely out of the marriage business. There should be no special treatment awarded to anyone just because they are married. The government should issue civil unions to cover the legal stuff relating to medical treatment, survivor benefits and whatnot. If you want to get married in a certain church that is your own business and should have nothing to do with the government. That being said, until that comes to pass (which I doubt it ever will) then you can’t treat one group differently from another. If the laws are changed for everyone then great but for now, same sex couples are being discriminated against. I honestly just wanted to hear promise5 come right out and say that my mother doesn’t deserve the same rights that she does. People like that want to restrict the rights of others just because they don’t like their lifestyle. To me that is disgusting and goes against what this country is supposed to stand for. The part that bothers me the most is that people like her think of themselves as patriots and believe they are trying to save this country. It truly is no better than those that opposed the civil rights movement. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  4. Let me ask you a very simple question. My mother is a lesbian. She has been in a monogamous relationship with another woman for around 30 years. Between them they have brought up 5 successful children (all straight) they own numerous properties, several businesses, pay their taxes and do everything that any other couple does. Do you think that they should be allowed the same legal rights as a heterosexual couple has? A simple yes or no answer will do here. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  5. Of course not, which is what makes this fun
  6. This might just be crazy enough to work. The reason I say that is because the republicans are already talking about posing legislation to stop it http://www.leftaction.com/action/tell-president-obama-mint-trillion-dollar-coin http://tv.msnbc.com/2013/01/08/republican-lawmaker-introducing-bill-to-squash-trillion-dollar-coin-idea/ Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  7. You still haven't figured out that: 1. You and people just like you are the ones causing this nation to be divided. Oh, I see. It's all Ron's fault. All that 'class war' bullshit that has been spewed by the left has been completely meaningless. I don't know about the rest of you, but when someone slaps me in the face I write them off. Screw 'em. Show me where I said that the right was the cause. I said people like him, not republicans. first of all he claims to not be a republican. Secondly he is as divisive as anyone that I have ever seen post. He continually posts about how stupid and horrible half the country is then complains about how divided things have become. People like him on both sides of the aisle are the reason that we are so divided. Then he continually advocates that half of the country secede from the union. If that isn't divisive then I don't know what is. As for the second part. The blue states continually contribute more in taxes than they get back while the red states get more than they contribute. Than means that the lazy freeloading blue states actually are the ones that support the hard working patriotic red states Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  8. Exactly which part are you disagreeing with? The fact that people like you are a big part of the problem or the fact that the blue states support the red welfare states? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  9. You still haven't figured out that: 1. You and people just like you are the ones causing this nation to be divided. 2. Those blue gimme states support your red take everything for free states. But you just keep on spouting lies, most thinking people know they are lies and they just make you look foolish. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

    Gorbachev

yes, only the extreme right will do that the extreme left never twists or spins things we have zero examples where the two parties, in an election year, have spun current events or incidents or speeches or ..........., to try to put their own side in the most positive light and the other side in a negative light That is not what I said. The far left does it as much as the far right, I agree with that. I was referring to this particular speech. Given the person that made it, I can see many on the right using it as proof that Obama is a communist. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

Everything you/he said is interesting to say the least. The problem is that some of the lunatics on the extreme right will take the speech and twist it. They will turn it into "You see, the Russians are endorsing Obama, we told you he was a communist." Intelligent, thinking people understand what he is saying. The problem is that there seem to be fewer and fewer of those around lately. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  12. You might want to watch the BlazeTV on Dish Network channel 212 for a period of time to make a learned observation. I have 2 simple questions, please limit your response to Yes or No and spare us your usual extremist lunacy. 1) Is Glen Beck's job to get as much media attention as possible for himself and his network? 2) Does he have a political agenda? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  13. This has just about as much credibility as the "offer" made by Donald Trump. Both are media whores with an agenda and should never be taken seriously. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  16. I disagree, you are basing your statement on anecdotal evidence which in no way relates to facts. http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/The-Simple-Dollar/2011/1219/How-much-will-charity-help-your-tax-bill Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  17. You left out the last part of that statement which is "as long as they get a tax deduction for that donation". Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  18. So it is ok to nearly bankrupt the country while providing for the common defense, but not while promoting the general welfare? I am just thinking that maybe we spend too much on the former and not enough on the latter. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  19. Many if not most Americans do not like the government telling them what they must do or not do. We don't like being told what we must have or can't have. We believe the government should provide for the common defense and that is about it. BTW, that includes sealing the fucking borders. What about the line that comes after "provide for the common defense" did you forget that part? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  20. That argument makes way too much sense and doesn't try to make one side better than the other. You must be new here Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  21. Unfortunately not. Actually the first year of the fight was just about jurisdiction. We were based in CT, She was in CA and we were a DE corp. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  22. Not necessarily true. I was sued by an ex business partner about 15 years ago. I offered her a settlement of $75k at the time which was a very fair offer. She sued for 7 figures. After 3 years of court battles and my spending $250K to defend myself, the judge awarded her $15K. In that case she won and would not have been responsible for the $250K in legal fees it cost me to defend myself. As a matter of fact, using your logic, I would have had to pay her legal fees. I do not know the details of the issues you had so I will ask a question IF, looser pays had been in place when all of that started, knowing the case as you did/do, what, if anything, would you have done differently? There was nothing I could have done differently. She filed a suit against me. I made her an extremely fair offer. She filed a ridiculous suit for an absurd amount of money that she knew we did not have even if we wanted to give it to her. The problem is that if you are being sued, you have no choice but to defend yourself, so I had to spend $250k to defend myself over the course of 3 years. In the end the judge awarded her a trivial amount (far less than I offered her in the first place), but since the judge awarded it to her, that would be seen as her winning. Understand Do you think, again, given your knowelge of the issue, if it was a risk for her to have to pay your legal fees, would she have acepted your offer or not sued you at all? Probably not. She was entitled to something so no matter what she was going to be awarded something. According to the judge she was only entitled to $15K but that was still something. No matter how you look at it she was going to win, it was just a matter of how much. There was no way I could have or should have offered her any more than I did, so I can't see how the outcome would have been any different. In this case though, she had to loose money unless her lawyer was working for a percentage If so, the lawyer lost The only winner was your lawyer Her lawyer was working on a percentage. About every 6 months she would have a new lawyer once they realized that she was full of crap and they would never get any money. She would then just find a new lawyer and continue on. You are correct, in the end my lawyers were the only ones that benefitted from it. That and the fact that she made my life hell which I believe was all she was trying to do in the first place.
