  3. My question had nothing to do with changing any gun laws whatsoever. My question was exactly what I asked. You defended the man's statement by claiming that he had mental issues. Clearly from the man's statement, he is armed. Do you think that he should be allowed to walk around armed given that he is mentally unstable? I understand that he served his country and is a hero but that doesn't change the fact that he has mental issues and is walking around armed. Just to clarify, I own guns, I am actually sitting at my desk cleaning one of them as I type this. I have no objection to people owning guns. You are the one that brought the man's mental health into the discussion, so I want to hear where you stand on someone like that walking around armed. 5. No problem, I respect his heroism and forgive him for his weakness. That being said, you yourself claim that the man has what sound like pretty substantial psychological issues. Do you think that someone with those kind of issues should be allowed to own firearms just because in the past he did heroic things? Every time there is a mass shooting, the gun control folks say things to the affect of "crazy people shouldn't be allowed to own guns" and the pro gun rights folks say things like "how are we supposed to know if they are crazy before they start shooting up the (insert location of choice here)" So in this case, according to you the man has a documented history of mental illness, regardless of the cause being PTSD from a military deployment, those issues do exist, so should be allowed to walk around armed? 6. Congratulations! Each time I think that you couldn't possibly post anything more vile and disgusting, you prove me wrong. At least you are good at something. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  12. Sounds like the TSA agent that told me that because my boarding pass said "Elite Access" on it, I HAD to go in the elite line even though it was longer than the regular line. I insisted that Elite Access was a privilege not a requirement and she didn't want to hear it. I figured if I argued any more I would end up with a "highly invasive screening" and got in the longer Elite Access line just to avoid problems. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  13. Instead of listening to what you "here", you might want to actually read something for yourself. That is not what happened in Texas. They did not rule in favor of requiring ID to vote. They ruled that it was too close to the election to change it now, so it would have to stand through the November election. It will be challenged and most likely ruled unconstitutional after November. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  14. So what is your point? There are plenty of places that you need to drive. There are plenty of places that you don't. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  15. My grandmother died at 82 years old having never driven a car in her life. She grew up in NYC. I know dozens of New Yorkers that never got a drivers license. There is just no reason to. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  16. Hadn't spoken to my parents for years, wasn't about to start then. Even if such a thing were issued, I can pretty much guarantee that my parents were not the type that would have kept a copy. I probably could have gone through more govt agencies to try and get a copy of it, but I assume they would have wanted me to prove who I was in order to get a copy. You also seem to be focused on the ways that I could have gotten ID without paying any attention to the point, which was that I lived just fine for 4 years without any ID. 17. No its not clear you should have gotten a Consular Report of Birth Abroad which is your birth certificate and would not expire. Did you? I may have, I was 1 year old at the time. Hadn't spoken to my parents for years when I moved to Miami. I have no idea. Never needed it. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  18. Thank you, I thought that was pretty clear but I guess not
  19. Agreed, I was just giving an example of how you can live without ID. I did it for 4 years. Yes, it was a long time ago but from the perspective of my story, nothing has changed. You could very easily live the same way today and I am sure many do. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  20. My parents are American, I just happened to be born in another country. I was born a US citizen and got a passport when I was 1 year old. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  21. From ’88 to ’92 I lived in Miami with no ID whatsoever. I had moved down from NYC where there was no reason to drive. Most of my friends growing up had no driver’s license. I worked in the restaurant industry at the time and most of my salary came in the form of tips. What I did receive in a paycheck was cashed right at the bar for us as soon as we were handed the check. I didn’t own a car, didn’t really have any need for a bank account and paid cash for the apartment that I lived in. I spent my days on the beach and my nights in the restaurants and bars. I lived like that for 4 years. When I finally decided to get a DL it was a nightmare. I was not born in the US so I did not have a birth certificate, I was born to American parents so I originally had a passport but that was long since expired and not accepted as proof of anything. It took me a total of about 3 months of running around from govt agency to govt agency and fighting with everyone that I could to try and get ID. I finally ended up going to the police dept and after a whole lot of hassle they fingerprinted me, ran a background check and issued me a “Police ID”. With that I was then able to get a new passport and then get a DL. Again, that took months, cost me a bunch of money and a whole lot of hassle. This is not some story that I heard from a friend, this is my actual story. Almost all the people that I knew and worked with at the time had very similar stories. Most of us just didn’t have or need ID and it wasn’t worth the trouble to get it. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  22. See post #214 in this thread. I think he covers that pretty well. Next? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  23. Let's put this a different way. There are roughly 316 Million Americans. There are roughly 30,000 skydivers in America. If the Majority of Americans felt that skydiving was stupid and dangerous and they decided to vote to abolish skydiving, would you be ok with that? The founding fathers of this country went to great lengths to ensure that the majority would not be allowed to vote to take away the rights of the minority. Your entire concept of put it on the ballot and let the people decide is what got us to this point in the first place. Numerous states have put it on the ballot and the majority voted against gay marriage. It is then the responsibility of the courts to decide whether that majority vote is infringing on the rights of the minority. So far the courts have decided in favor of the minority (as they should). I understand that you feel that this is a waste of time, but you probably wouldn't feel that way if it were something that you cared deeply about. Go back to the skydiving analogy.
