    SURPRISE!

Actually, it can't. That being said, let's pretend for a minute that what you say is true. Do you think it is right for one couple to have to go through a process of writing said power of attorney (extra hassle) to get the same level of protection as another couple can get by just getting married? I agree that the government should get out of the marriage business, but that has not happened. Maybe someday it will. Until they do, why should one classification of "couple" get different treatment than another? Until the government gets out of the marriage business, marriage laws must be applied equally to all. 2. Just in case anyone missed the old thread. According to Ron (our friendly neighborhood Christian here in the forums), Catholics aren't really Christians. So the pope doesn't matter anyway. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  4. If you want to claim that PP should be classified as a "for profit" business because they take in more than they need to operate, I am good with that. My only condition would be that this is applied equally to ALL non-profit organizations including any church/mosque/synagogue that takes in more than they require to operate. We shouldn't be selective, if we are going to redefine how non-profits are categorized it should be across the board. Would you agree, or is it just the NPs that you don't like that we should single out and apply different rules to? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  5. Not replying to anyone in particular, but I am just going to leave this here. Man accidentally shoots self at military recruiting office: http://www.cbs46.com/story/29573194/man-accidentally-shoots-self-at-military-recruiting-office# Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  7. No, When my existing stuff stops working and I need something new, I can understand the need for a visit, but when I use the same stuff for years on end, then still make me some in for a "check up" just to get a renewal. They usually give me 6 months at a time, but then I have to come in before they give me another 6 months. When I come in for the "check-up" it usually goes like this. Dr - Any changes to your condition Me - Nope Dr - Is the cream that you are using still working for you? Me - Yep Dr - Ok here is a new script for another 6 months Now that doesn't sound like a big deal, but I am not able to take time off of work to go to a Dr appt. Because of what I do, I can only take an entire week off and not a few hours or a day. I am a contractor, so I don't get paid when I don't work. So I end up missing a week of work/pay in order to get a renewal for some cream. I do understand about liability and I know that they probably have patients that aren't able to figure out for themselves if things need to be tweaked, but it is frustrating to say the least. 8. I do call the doctor and they tell me that I can't get a renewal without coming in for a visit. I have no idea about how liability works in that case. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  9. I get the liability issue, but we are talking about topical cream here. Most people with psoriasis have to change prescriptions from time to time as they become less effective over time. Guess what, anyone who has psoriasis will know very well when the cream stops working. It is pretty obvious when the scales don't go away after application. At that point I would expect a doctor visit would be required. Even then it really shouldn't be required. The Doc will ask me if the cream stopped working and they will respond with, ok let's give this one a try, if it works, great, if not we will try another. Really that shouldn't even require a visit but I can accept that. But when the current cream is still working, there is no reason I should need a doctor visit to renew the script. 10. I was born with Psoriasis. I have used certain topical creams and lotions for as long as I can remember. Every time I need a renewal, the Dermatologist will not renew the script without me coming in for a visit. This is not just my current Dermo, but every one I have ever had (many over the years). It is absurd that I have used the same stuff for over 10 years and yet they will not renew without a checkup. It is an auto-immune condition, they know I have it, they know the topicals that I have used and what they do. There is absolutely no reason for me to come in there for a visit unless I have some new development and yet, there I go taking time off of work to make go see the doc just to get a script. There is no question, that is just about revenue for the Doc. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

  12. I also find it funny that if I made that exact statement and replaced Health insurance companies with Oil companies pushing hard to keep renewable energy down, you would disagree and jump all over me for it. Not looking for a debate about climate change, just pointing out your hypocrisy. If Health insurance companies are making record profits and want to keep things the way they are, it must automatically be bad. If energy companies are making record profits and want to keep things the way they are, we should trust them. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  13. Thanks, but I am really interested in what Ron has against it. Judging from the things that he has posted in the past, I get the impression that he doesn't know what he has against it other than it came from Obama so it must be bad. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  14. I am really curious to hear what exactly your problem is with Obamacare. I mean what specifically, please don't link to an article that tells me what someone else's problem is with it, I am interested what YOUR problem is with it. You have been complaining about it since it's inception but other than the fact that it was "created" by Obama, you have never said what your problem is that I can find in your posts. 15. Not to speak for normiss, and if I am wrong about his statements, I am sure he will correct me, but I think you misunderstand. It is not that he doesn't understand scripture. He understands it as well as anyone can understand a work of fiction. What he doesn't understand is why anyone would believe it to be the truth. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  16. I would say LONG before 2008. Here are a few examples: The Reagan administration sold missiles to Tehran to secure the partial release of seven American hostages held in Lebanon. In fact, it was known at the time as the “arms-for-hostages” deal. After the North Koreans captured the U.S.S. Pueblo in 1968, President Lyndon Johnson apologized for spying as part of negotiations to secure the release of 83 American prisoners. In 1970, President Richard Nixon pressured Israel, Switzerland, West Germany and Britain to release Palestinian prisoners after two airlines were hijacked by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. During the Iran hostage crisis of 1979 to 1981, President Jimmy Carter agreed to unfreeze $8 billion in frozen Iranian assets after more than a year of negotiations with the Iranian revolutionaries. President Bill Clinton’s administration sat down with Hamas in attempts to negotiate peace with Israel. His administration also worked directly with the Taliban nearly two decades ago on several occasions to see if the group would hand over Osama bin Laden and other al-Qaida leaders. 18. Send him an email to complain about it. Oh wait, that's right this is the same guy who announced proudly that he has never sent an email in his life. He is clearly a forward thinker and exactly who we want in the White House. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  19. Way to ignore my question. Are you saying that the spouse doesn't love their partner or care about their partner because they want to help them get healthy? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  20. So if a wife says to her husband who is morbidly obese that she wants to help him change his eating and exercise habits so that he can become healthy and live longer it is because she doesn't love him and his heritage? When a drug counselor (something that you claim to be an expert on) tries to help a person get off of drugs and better themselves it is because they hate them and don't want them to get better? 23. What makes it sad? One of the parents is staying home to make sure the children are brought properly and looked after by a parent. What possible difference does it make which parent that is? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  24. My cousin and her husband had a baby 2 years ago. They both worked full time jobs at the time. After deciding that they didn't want to put the baby into daycare, they set about deciding which of the two would quit their job and which would stay home and take care of the child. They decided that she would keep her job and he would be the stay at home dad. They have just decided to have a second child and they will continue on the current path. He will stay home and raise the children while she goes to work. Are you saying that there is anything wrong with their situation? Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
  25. What is it then? A method to encourage an individual to talk...give up the goods that can be confirmed by other operatives that in fact what the individual(s) are giving up is true. From many sources, its was very successful. The best thing that I can say about this response is that luckily most of the people with attitudes like this are old and dying off. Can't happen soon enough. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
