  1. Hey op5e, if you're around on the 2nd, you can help judge the swoop competition! Grab me or Jules when we're down there. Everyone knows Jules .
  2. Exactly. You're there for the sex and so the other person can feel nice and attractive and sexy and all that. As long as you're aware of and cool with that, no worries .
  3. I can't seem to find much on that. All lines of enquiry seem to lead back to the site of the Skytruck's US importer. However, this article, originally from the Baltimore Sun, has a really interesting bit in the last few paragraphs... according to the importer the M28 got its FAA type certification as part of a huge quid pro quo deal in which the US effectively bought Poland's support for the Iraq war. edited to add Skytruck usa site
  4. Yeah, but I'll bet you find it bloody hard to switch off from work....
  5. Come down to Moruya and give us a peek!
  6. Last four years were 15min door to desk, which was nice. In this country my visa currently depends on my job, so quitting over a 1hr commute would be silly... wait a few months though and we shall see!
  7. I have a 1hr each way commute. The company is moving, but it'll still be a 1hr commute . However, it's all on public transport, so I can read a book. Gives me nice chill time that I might not otherwise have.
  8. According to the manufacturer, a Skytruck can drop 17 paratroopers. There's a Skytruck Plus under development that can drop 27 paratroopers... so maybe even more civvy jumpers?
  9. It looks like a Skyvan and a Twin Otter had kids - the front half is Otter, the rear half Box.
  10. In most countries there's no tax on basic foodstuffs. Wages are taxed because they're only temporarily leaving the country. If you were a resident of the UK and worked in Australia for a month you'd only pay tax in the UK. Couldn't tell you on fuel for international flights, but I'd be pretty sure it's taxed .
  11. Can I second this? And Firefox isn't that small anymore - they passed 25,000,000 downloads yesterday!
  12. Y'know the easiest way to tell the difference between an Irish person and an Irish-American? On St Patricks Day, one is dressed in green and drinking green Guinness, and the other is paralytic by about 4pm. Guess which is which? .
  13. There's gotta be a first time for everything .
  14. It's not the only one - there's another FS thread just been brought back from the dead by the same bloke . Nice container though. If/when I downsize, I'll probably get one.
  15. Are you going to be called 'Screw This Event'?
  16. If bandwidth or size is an issue, BitTorrent is a solution...
  17. Ditto. That's why I do 4-way - to keep my mind off just how stupid I am .
  18. Virtual Dub is basic but entirely free.
  19. Damn weird, isn't it? I'm sorta-seriously saving for the first time in a long time. Mainly to pay for overseas trips and skydiving tho .

    ouch

Just to provide a little more background: it doesn't have to be a full-blown paraglider-suitable hill. It could be a slope no more than 15ft long, rising no more than a couple of feet, and you'll still have to modify your landing. I'll leave the explanation of the technicalities involved to someone with more experience than little ol' me.
  21. Call them and get the limit reduced. If you don't need instant access to that amount of credit, why tempt yourself?
