The nerves will go away again right?
bob.dino replied to Punky_Monkey's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That's the perfectly normal tendency of people to want to look cool . I'd suggest spending one whole jump repeatedly getting unstable then recovering. It's really not that hard (if it was, I couldn't do it ). Once it's clicked you'll wonder what all the fuss was about! Go be safe and have fun! -
Trying to match levels with your opposite 55m away could be difficult . In my limited experience, stars get exponentially more difficult as the number of folk grows. (Assuming each person takes 1m of space, 180 people gives a circle diameter of 57m).

All that is fair enough. But, in the end of the day, I don't know you from Adam, and neither do I know how good your server admins are. So, I'm not going to expose myself by visiting your site using IE. Sorry. For those who don't want to be IE-bound, there's a RW dive planner at digitalskydive. -
I'm thinking of canning my trip to the Cockatoo Island festival so I can jump on Good Friday... after all it's only an $80 ticket and the goodwill of some friends that'll go down the drain .

:6:0 Six comp jumps on Saturday as a sub for a four-way inter team. Flew Inside Centre for the first time. Spent Sunday doing nothing and watching The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Damn good film. Oh, and Frenchy & piis: no boasting about absinthe!

any sydney siders going to Picton over easter?
bob.dino replied to ljwobker's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Your best bet is to send a message to the skarsy email list. There's always folk heading down. I'd offer a lift but I don't have a car . And, as Travman mentioned, there's a bus that leaves from the City Office (Wentworth St, near Central Station) at 7am. Call the office (02 9791 9155) for more details. -
Surely eating yellow snow is Remster's job?

In layers: 0.5 shot Kahlua 0.5 shot Amarula 0.5 shot Absinthe, on top. Light the absinthe. Dunk straw into drink. Drink. Rinse. Repeat. (You bastards. I've not been near the green fairy in almost two years.)

I've taken a disposable camera into freefall with me. Pictures are slightly blurry, but ok. Most mobiles have a little hook/eyelet for a carrying cord. Attach the cord and slip it over your wrist and you'll probably be fine. Just be aware of the impact it might have on your emergency procedures.

A group of skydivers gathered together to party and jump. Often it involves a special location (eg. beach) or special aircraft or similar. The Dropzone.com Holiday Boogie is a good example: everyone heads off to Skydive Arizona and jumps and parties for a week. For some folk it's an opportunity to jump larger aircraft, or to get on more difficult/unusual skydives. For others it's just a chance to run around naked .

You'd think he was a Skydiver...

You're out of date, mate. There's lots of scientific research going on. -
The USPA SIM is available online. For jumping from an airplane, yes. BASE jumpers. It's possible, but not something that should happen unless you screw up. Tricky question, and it depends on the circumstances. Use the Forum Search link near the top of this page to search for "two out" and have a read.

The FS is definitely made in Australia too. Nice containers, and there's something to be said for having the factory 20min up the road from my DZ...

Definitive proof you're not Irish . I've never seen green beer in any real Irish pub. It's solely for yanks .
-
Not much; going to a work function. Otherwise I'd just be down the pub. And unlike most here, I have an Irish passport.

Looking at August for a round-the-world-via-Perris trip. -
Nope. Not on mine...

Well said. Rare to see a voice of reason here .
