Is that $50 fitted (velcro etc), or just for the RSL cord? You could always ask Parachutes Australia (they also make Talons) for a quote.

Could we keep the Speaker's Corner comments in Speaker's Corner please? It'd do wonders for my blood pressure. dustin19d: stay safe out there and don't do anything silly.

Shit. Remind me not to date you - I wouldn't get away with anything .

I know my view doesn't jibe with many on dz.com, but to me the fact that the military involves going places and killing people would be a fairly significant downside. As for the corporate world, what are you qualified in? Can you switch jobs and/or locations pretty easily?

Congrats! What was your degree in?

At my DZ, the end of the AFF program is three consecutive hop n pops: 5000, 4000, and 3000ft, dispatched by an instructor. Once you've converted onto sport gear, you do five solo conversion jumps, the last of which is a hop n pop, usually from about 2500. Many folk then don't do another hop n pop for years at a time.

Too right. Unless you believe in reincarnation it'd be a good trick.

Are you pregnant?

What kind of canopy pilot are you?

I'll be an optimist and say the first weekend of September. He'll be onto 270s by then . -
My 200th was the first time I turned 16 points in time. Which was fun . To be fair, it was a fast random jump, but still, I was pretty damn happy

It took me until the end of your post to realise you weren't talking about personal assistants .

Oh, you're going to get flamed to death on this one! My reading of your post is that you're more interested in the effect that a fatality would have on the dz rather than on the actual incident. Is that correct? I'd confess to occasionally wondering what my dz would be like if someone went it. I've no desire to find out first-hand though. My idle curiosity isn't, in the big scheme of things, worth squat. Wonder what those who've been around the sport 20+ years think? So far I notice it's the new folk that have been the harshest in their condemnation.

Yup. This. Occasionally go to movies, art galleries, coffee shops. But usually it's the heavy drinking.

You went through the trailer frame by frame?! Jesus. You make me look sane .

No shit .

...that it's all about having fun. ...that it's harder to launch an OC exit than I thought. ...that I should be more alert at spotting when a teammate's had a chop.

So have I! Got it at the last nationals and promptly spilled beer on it .
-
Yup. This. I doubt I'll continue jumping at the same rate as now, simply because it's too all-consuming. Maybe I'll slacken off a bit, or maybe I'll just stop jumping. We shall see.

And Airtite are the current Australian Champs and represented Australia at the last World Meet.

Does a cutaway flag fall quickly or slowly? In other words, if one found oneself in the situation of having to cutaway a main post-flag-deployment, after cutting away the flag how would one determine when it was safe to cut away one's main? (using one to emphasise that I've no intention of jumping a flag; I'm just curious).

Which Kate? We have a few . edit: would it be Dr Kate? Tall lady, into CRW, originally from Zimbabwe? She rocks.

Since Squeak is being slow on the go tonight: :4:0 Four nice 4-way jumps today. A bit on the slow side, partly due to a chop by the rear float. All the bits and pieces were recovered and no-one was injured, though we did scare a wallaby For the hard of hearing, the required details are number of humps : jumps : beer owed. Humps can be replaced by something else, as long as you have a note from your mother.
