A good friend of mine useta insisit that the really crazy stuff happened two days before the full moon. I never really checked up on it, but he's a pretty together guy, so I'd give it some credence.

- Insecurity drives a lot of people's actions. - The change in the seasons makes lots of people sick. - You have to work hard at most things. - The more you work hard at things, the easier working hard at things becomes.

Well said. About five months ago I did a downwinder in 15-20kts of wind. Probably the stupidest decision I've made in skydiving so far. Without a good PLR I'd have been in really serious trouble. As it was it was just my ego that got bruised. As an aside, in Australia there's a move to promote the term PLR - Parachute Landing Roll - instead of PLF.

Twin Otter Incident 05-11-2005
bob.dino replied to diverdriver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
How strong are a Twin Otter's wings, structurally? As in, how much damage do you have to do to one before the plane is a write-off? Is all the structural strength in a single spar, or is there something fancier? (I realise this is a pretty open-ended question; feel free to answer with as much or as little as you like). -
The main alternative to Premiere Pro (at a similar price-point) is Sony Vegas. They both do similar stuff, and which to use is really a matter of personal preference.

Incidentally, shouldn't it be "...Dropzone.com and Lake Wales are pleased to offer you the following:"?

Three times: Once after a long spot. Once after an aircraft emergency - had to bail out of the Skyvan and landed in a field, dodging the camels! And once after a two-way sitfly jump - there was cloud from 8k->5k, and my mate corked at about 6k. There was no way in hell I was pitching 'til I saw him come through the cloud, so I ended up open at 2k, about 3-4km off the DZ. Picked a nice field and landed safely. No big deal.

:9:0 Same as Travis: 9x 4-way jumps. Won the little mini comp on Sunday, but all in all didn't fly quite as well as I'd have liked . Ah well, c'est la vie. Lovely margaritas on Saturday night though!

We use verts on Stardians and Dan T Murphys, as do most intermediate Aussie teams. -

ANY Ideas for my A license graduation JUMP!!!
bob.dino replied to jasonRose's topic in Safety and Training
'Tis just that I've never seen Stardian-Stardian turned without verticals - it's bloody slow otherwise... but yeah, fair enough. If you're not talking verts, it's a cool dive. -
It's not possible if the CD player is working correctly. Tell the boss to stuff it and buy a decent CD player . And go get the guy .

Yes. I've got my head resting on my hand. Reading about COM Clients and Serverstecchy stuff does that to me.

To redneck males: "This is the only time in your life you're gonna love having a man strapped to your ass." To TMs in front of the passengerstudent: "So, did they give you your licence back? Really? Not guilty? You must have a good lawyer!"

Sneezy Barffytush. Are you sure you want to jump with me?

ANY Ideas for my A license graduation JUMP!!!
bob.dino replied to jasonRose's topic in Safety and Training
Isn't that a little advanced for someone with 25-ish jumps? Verticals on a Stardian are a bit serious... My thoughts would tend towards something less serious and more fun. A horny gorilla exit perchance? -
I'm not going to Byron tomorrow. Obviously I'm not a true American .

It's the Bonfire; there is no reason .

It's a self-enforcing rule.

Ask for a change in your contract so that if you get laid off between Oct & May that you get paid out the three months wages. Then it doesn't matter what corporate headquarters thinks .

They also go like a bat out of hell. Nice cars.

Have you given any commitment (verbal or written) to the new hospital? If so, I'd go there. If not, ask them if they can match the offer your current hospital has made. If they can, go. If not, it gets trickier. My conscience would say go, but $20k/year is a powerful incentive to stay. If you do decide to stay, maybe ask for a contract extension?
