  9. I second that... your body NEEDS carbs. Major fuel source for the body. Why do you think cereals, grains, etc are at the bottom of the food guide pyramid and are mostly carbohydrates? Glucose (contained in carbs) is the preferred fuel for the brain and most body cells. Protein is not a substitute... protein CAN be used to produce glucose and fat can be used to produce ketone bodies, but a sufficiency of carbohydrates prevents this from happening. Your body needs 50-100 grams of carbs daily to prevent ketosis (when ketone bodies are produced faster than they are used). It is recommended 250-300 g CHO (carbs) daily. OK, sorry for going on there, but geez, Atkins is bad news IMO. Not a substitute for eating right and exercising right. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  16. Believe he walked away with nothing but a wee scratch on the arm. Oh, I also have video of hookitt in the tree retrieving his main with a golf ball retriever... classic And I will post pics of that as well when I get to my home computer. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  17. The video turnout is really good. However I don't have an apparatus to hook up my camera to my computer. Maybe Tim does. I was under my reserve pulling my toggles out at 2500, Tim I'd say around 2300. As Tim went to take the dock, he sank (or I vouch for deepening my brakes slightly) and cratered into the left side of my canopy. Quite a scary sight looking across and seeing him engulfed in my parachute. 2 revolutions and I cutaway as quickly as possible. Slowed the spin down and pulled the little silver. (my first reserve ride, beer ) Tim untangled as much as he could and executed emergency procedures as well. Wraps happen and for the situation given, I believe we did as well as we could have with the circumstance. I even have Tim's cutaway and reserve deployment on video... I will post a link as soon as I can. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  19. I picked up my rig and it felt awfully heavy. Put it on anyway and stumbled to the plane. Exit timing was a little off, and my fall rate was off the scale throughout freefall. After opening I hear this loud voice from above... Surprise!!! Guess who? _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  23. Thank you for expanding on what I was trying to say. Lol, just didn't have the time to write it all out in format as you did. Again all I was emphasizing was yes, it CAN be done, and in a relatively safe manner... however seemingly impractical and once again, still IMO not the wisEST choice. And Tom, thanks for clarifying. You're right, I didn't mean to assume that everyone should know something. Thats why this discussion is here. I was assuming however, that experienced base jumpers should know smart decisions from rather dumb ones when it comes to first timers. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  24. Well of course it can be done, we all know that. Is it the wisest, safest route? Come on now, I think we all know better than that... ignorance is beyond me in this situation. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
