Dude whats the tough question? If its asking what people think about BASE w/o skydives then thats an easy question. I'm going to echo what everyone else is saying is right, ummm, because it IS right. That BASEing w/o prior parachuting experience is much higher of a risk than with parachuting experience. Wow, that was amazingly simple. Does YOUR logic not tell you that? I've refrained from posting here because you're right, it IS the same stuff over and over... but damn you're a nut and I just had to tell you that. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

1. Your husband deal, don't know what to tell you there, but I'm sure ya'll will work it out just fine. I've seen it work many a times. 2. Ya, it'll probably take away from your other hobbies for a while, you may be in 'obsession mode' like most everybody gets at first. Time will let you get back to your 'normal' life again. You'll be happy the whole while though I believe. You wouldn't enjoy jumping so much if it didn't make you happy. Best of luck

If anything I would come to believe an heavily loaded canopy would open faster. However I don't believe wing loading makes much of a difference when you're talking in the range of +/- .25. Experienced wise ones, correct me if I'm off. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

Just for the record Michele, your harness and container are 2 seperate deals. Container is what you place your parachute in, harness is what you put your body in. So for example when you're ordering a harness/container from a manufacturer, they need harness size and container size. One to fit your body, one to fit your parachute. Hope that helps

If so, I support the 180 day cycle. However, how do you go about getting that changed by the FAA? I'm sure its quite a process... _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

The most I've heard is 1600. Lines looked pretty crappy. 3K may be feasible, however I would guess its extremely out of trim (duh) and the openings suck. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

Sorry I just now read this, don't keep up much on talkback. anyway, glad you're alright. I was struck 2 1/2 years ago and didn't notice it as quickly as you. Doctor wrote it off as a mild concussion. It wasn't until 3 days later that I went back to the hospital because i couldn't lift my head off my pillow. Brain was swelling so bad... anyway, no gory details but yeah the spinal tap sucked. Had vitamins and morphine injections for a week, and a few more days in the hospital before I could stomach food again and go home. Fun times and had to share

I might get slammed for soundin like a wishy-washy Christian over here, but hey I've gotten drunk, high, and laid and yeah its all good stuff. Heck yeah I'll have a drink (within reasonable limits) and enjoy the occasional puff . I'm 21, I'm enjoying life to the fullest no doubt. The Bible is clear on its boundaries of sin. It doesn't say drinking is bad, yet getting excessively drunk is. And it does not mention highness, so I'm going to leave that topic alone, hehe. And well the laid part... thats a toughie and without going into any personal details, yeah premarital sex is crossing Biblical boundaries... however can obviously be enjoying within those boundaries. *sidenote* And dude of course I'm not imposing anything upon you, these are just my beliefs and I'm just statin my side of the story *end of sidenote* As far as the struggle with sin goes... what about greed? Selfishness? The list could go on but I'm tired and going to bed. Hehe, hope this helps explain what I'm tryin to say. C ya! _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

I rarely surf Talkback, but saw this thread and just had to say I'm so glad and comforted to see so many openly sharing their faith. My biggest struggle is "living the life" in an environment in which I tend to 'conform' to rather than stand out in. My prayer is that Christ will shine through me in actions and words, yet I never seem to do it well enough. However we are in a fallen world, and "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." I totally praise Him for His grace. I'm also extremely thankful we live in a free country and have the ability to voice our gratitude to the Lord and beliefs without imposing them on others but merely sharing our joy. I'm no holy roller, always open minded, and I'm cool with everyone despite their personal beliefs... but God rocks and Satan's a nerd. Ok, /rant. Peace out yo's. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

When I was younger, not too long ago like 15 and 16 (hehe), watching RealTV and seeing the jumpers go off cliffs and such, I said there's no way I'd ever be stupid enough to do that. I changed my mind after my first BASE. When dad asks the question, 'if your friend jumped off a bridge, would you?' The now proper response is "Hell ya!" _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

who has had zero g in a jump ship?
brits17 replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Mullins... ain't that plane the sweetest Sunset load he cranks it and its the bomb. Lol, we could turn points in the plane before we exited... great stuff. And yeah, and this one time (at skydiving camp) got the pilot to do one at 1500, just to shake up the rest of the jumpers on the load, it was a hoot. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com -
I have modified a regular F111 slider by cutting out a coffee can sized hole in it. Seems to be a known method, as I have heard this trick from several jumpers around the US. As far as I can tell, its created ventilation is the same as a mesh slider, and equivilant to a bikini slider found on PD reserve canopies. Are there any downsides to this modified method? It has worked beautifully for me every time, then again, I only have 15 base jumps. Good topic discussion Yuri. C ya! Edit to add: 32" pilot chute, and packed exactly like a reserve, no rolling, nose exposed. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

howdy, just so you know, i put about 500 jumps on my safire 109, loaded barely over 1:1, and learned to swoop the shiznits outta that thing. seriously... put it this way... a good swoop on my safire equals a crappy swoop on my velocity. if you're wanting something else though, i'd say somewhere along the lines of a fully elliptical, like a crossfire. but again, learn to swoop that safire first, it works i promise! _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
