    Opening Shock

Ditto. Hardest opening, well its a tie. FX 79 and Velo 75, both times I let a new packer pack it, go figure . I always make the locking stows 5-6 inches wide on these canopies to avoid dumpage, however I forgot to tell the packer this concept. Talk about seein little stars all the way to the ground and massive migrane-like headaches, ugh. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  2. i've jumped my board with the velocity a few times, opened fine, however it made me nervous every time. i would recommend something non-ellliptical or non x-braced, in case of line twists it will make recovery MUCH easier. anything to reduce your chance of a main malfunction is ideal. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  6. yeah but i have to wait for mirage. not knockin them or anything, but i ordered my cutaway handle early last week, and it was supposed to be here already. i called them yesterday to check on the status and thy had lost my order. as to not pay for overnight shipping, i'll just hold out till next week _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  7. I second that. In all honesty, I think it's better than going out and getting drunk. When you're stoned, you're just hanging out not doing much of anything and usually not putting anyone in harm's way. You can't overdose on it (like alcohol). And in my opinion, alcohol alters my thinking and actions (usually in a negative manner) more than pot does. I don't see anything wrong with lighting it up at the end of the day, etc. Like anything, obviously any mood altering type drug should be used in moderation. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  8. ya, but this weekend's supposed to rock! heh, and i'm still unpacked _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  9. LOL! I'm sure there are some FF'ers out there who'll show you how to hang, its really not that difficult. If you can sit/stand alright, you can hang. If you're really paranoid bout screwin it up, be in the belly base. Hell, hookitt can probably show you... and then ask him to show you crw too _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  10. yeah, your vertical scr. 4 way base belly and 4 hangars will get it i believe. throw in some stingers for a good looking picture. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  14. Daaaaaaamn, you people gotta help me understand ya'll... I know so many people who constantly drink coffee all day long, like its their 'fix' or something. I just don't like it all that much except on occasion. Whats the deal? _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  15. 1) Athletic (in shape) and 2)no pudge factor (no belly). Those are requirements to make someone "attractive" for me personally. Personality and other traits enhance, but the first two are a must. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  16. OK this just sounds really, really bad. Just so there are no misunderstandings, he's talking about the elevator folks. ROTFLOL, oh stop it you two, ya'll don't have to hide what really happened _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  17. Yeah, not a prob, the velcro over the guide rings and securing the excess lower control lines was snug (but thats not a bad thing ) _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  18. Quote from Tim: We were both in deep brakes. I'd asked her to let it fly faster but that didn't happen. Rather than staying at the side, I tried for it any way. This is something I know better than to do. I, brits17, should have let my canopy in full flight instead of stayin in brakes. Timmy should not have gone for it. Any more input Tim? _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  19. Umm, on a scale of 1-10, I'd give that a scare factor of 9.5. The fear was short lived however, as you can see everything happened in seconds. In my head at the moment, time slowed down to nanoseconds. I think the adrenaline somewhat overtook the fear in saying "act now, or you'll both die" kinda thing. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  20. OK guys, here it is, turn that sound up

  23. Ted, Good post. You seem to have hit the nail on the head with the 'situation.' I don't believe there is anybody in the area willing to take on the responsibility for these people... except for one, however he doesn't jump enough for their liking apparently. Another problem I have, is that I have to see them close to every weekend at the dropzone, we all work there. With the several phone calls I've received this week regarding us taking them to the site so we can show them "the ropes," I'm having a hard time dealing. As of now, I'm dodging the situation, saying I'm really not sure when we're going to jump next, etc... but it would be nice to come to a conclusion. One conclusion I came up with was to allow them to jump with us, but again, they can't go out on their own and start jumping the site. Sounds political doesn't it? Geez, I just want to wiggle out of this one, but am at a loss. Sorry to enhance confusion with my venting _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  24. Yes, I think Sid was correct in saying what the previous rigger probably did was adjust the closing loop length and taking it entirely out of the container with the pull-up cord now out of the loop and through the freebag. (Long sentence, hope it made sense). IMO, it'd be best to leave as much pullup cord routed as possible without disturbing the pack job, and if you have to redo something, always double-check your work. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
