  2. In my limited experience, its been the opposite. Only the super gung-ho have been accepted and able to find a 'mentor' to show them the ropes. I suppose its a different atmosphere in different parts of the country however. ie: Moab, Twin Falls, etc. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  3. what did you come up with for your first derivative that makes the 2nd one off the hook? _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  4. Ok ok, I feel your drift now. I was getting the image of ol crazy on the street waving a sign, "you're going to hell, REPENT" type thing. In no way am I trying to say to not witness by word of mouth. Thats a given. I've done my share of mission trips, and sharing my faith in public. My first major was ministry for goodness sakes. Thanks for clarifying. Once again, I never stated that I care about being 'liked.' If I gave a crap, I wouldn't be posting here. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  5. ? See nightingale's post above yours, she might have said it better than I did. Anyway, its not a matter of being un-truthful, its a matter of living out that truth. Actions speak louder than words is all I was trying to say mate. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  6. Heh, I see your point, however, is the 'world' responsive to the 'in your face' attitude? In general, from my limited experience, no. As Christians, we want to see people drawn TO God, not drive them away. People are skeptical, they want tangible proof, they want to understand 'why,' etc. It's a delicate subject, and each person responds differently to approaches. Versus telling them "this is correct, this is what you should believe," why not show them first? _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  7. Hehehe, reminds me of something I did a couple months ago... I was making slider bumpers for a main and I really had to go gung-ho on the scissors. Well I was holding the vinyl tubing in my hand and trying to crank down the scissors (bad idear) and took a slice out of my hand, in the palm. Wow, did that suck. After gobs of Neosporin and gauze, it was still oozing blood (yucky). Fortunately I was at the dz and the wonderful manifestors were my doctors. What sucked worse was that I had to continue that guys reserve repack, basically with 1 hand 1/2. My take from the pic is you'll be alright, like I did, buncha gauze and neosporin. You'll prob have a scar, but hey, chicks dig scars _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  8. yeah, probably haylee, and heims (sherry's handle on here), and jen, and a few others... i'll pass the word if they don't see it on here. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  9. i posted this in women's forum, but "count me in"
  10. I'm not afraid, although yeah I'll admit its intimidating. I don't openly profess my faith all over the dz, I'm sure most don't even know where I stand. However, if a jumper asks where I'm going Sunday evening, I'll tell em I'm off to church. Even had a few tag along at times. Was listening to my old Michael W Smith CD yesterday in the truck and a couple tunes definately spoke to me. One was "missing person" but the other is related to your question called "live the life." For the world to know the truth, there can be no greater proof than to live the life. So very true, and so very convicting. We're passengers aboard the train Silent little lambs amidst the pain That's no longer good enough And when it's time to speak our faith We use a language no one can explain That's no longer good enough And God knows it's a shame 'Cause if we look to pass the blame We are not the worthy bearers of His name For the world to know the truth There can be no greater proof Than to live the life, live the life There's no love that's quite as pure There's no pain we can't endure If we live the life, live the life Be a light for all to see For every act of love will set you free There's something beautiful and bold The power of a million human souls Come together as one And each, in turn, goes out to lead Another by His word, His love, His deed Now the circle is done It all comes back to one For it is He and He alone Who has lived the only perfect life we've known. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  12. http://www.paragear.com/frame.asp?menu=group%3d193%26level%3d1&main=templates/base_template.asp%3fgroup%3d193 Ok for the life of me I cannot make a clicky directly to the ripstop tape, but underneath the category "Raw materials/webbing" click on the subcategory "Ripstop tape" and there you go. I cannot make an informed decision on whether a 'real' patch is recommended or if tape is a good alternative option since I am not a rigger who has seen the damage. I do think tape is a faster, easier way to go for pint sized holes however. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

w/o naming names, if i had the opportunity to jump that (and get away with it), it would be my biggest internal pride and joy, all things considered. best of luck in your conquest. and as far as the drop, no its not a base, but stellar nonetheless
  15. Hey hey Aggie girl. I'm a junior at the University of Houston, majoring in Kinesiology: Exercise Science. I switched from ministry, to mathematics, to where I am now, and I'm sure its what I want to do. I have a passion for athletics, health, and how the body operates. Not exactly sure what I want to be when I grow up, but the options are present. Maybe a personal trainer, maybe a coach, or who knows. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  23. Star Crest Recipient. Its an award for your first completed 8 way, on a freeflown exit, no grips. The recipient buys 2 cases of beer upon completion. One for drinking, and one for pouring. Only those who have been poured on for their SCR may have the honors to be pourers. We sing a hymn, and proceed to drench the maggot in beer. Thats basically how it goes. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
