Got into BASE and completed the acronym. Started golfing again. Learned to dance semi-well. Traveling places I've never been. Witnessing God's blessings in disguise. I had heard, now I've seen. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

Donnie, I'm going to stand my ground on the bridge day thing, or a course. Its the only logical choice. You've got good awareness and such in the air, but in my humble opinion, those are your best options for picking up base. And in response, then please consider keeping your current skydiving parachute and not downsizing so quickly. You're a friend and I don't want to see you hurt. Hence my suggestions on keeping it safe out there. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

good words dave! sometimes we want to hang onto our dilemmas so badly, but when we realize we have to 'let it go' into His hands, amazing how everything falls into place. catch ya on the flipside yo _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

As many times as I've taken my skydiving rig with a cypres on commercial airlines, its not once been checked. I take my base rig one time, and they practically pull apart my pack job. But otherwise, like a skydiving rig, just carry it on and the most they'll probably do is take it out and admire it. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

LOL I have to second that. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

I think that the BR chart and manufacturer's recommendations place PC sizes with delay times so that it should be undisputable for all. I'm sure with a proper 1-1 1/2 sec delay a 42 will be just fine. However, like I was saying yesterday, I've always been one to not press anyone past their comfort zone in a sport such as this, including myself. For my first 300, surely I was not going to use a 42. Although I was determined to take a lil delay, I had never experienced an object of this height and wasn't 100% sure of what my reaction time would be. Better safe than sorry. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

If all packing methods fail or are inconsistent, have a rigger put a pocket on your current slider. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

Likewise. I have since sold the Safire, but if I remember correctly, he lengthed the outside cascade line, hence making the flare input more even, instead of folding in the corners. I hope that made sense I was only the 2nd canopy he did this 'test' on, but it worked great for openings and landings. Toggle turns weren't as crisp, but I could swoop it better than before, and reiterating that the openings were/are sloooooow and snively. Derek may be able to be more specific in describing his method. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

If the cameras are similar in size (width/height/length) I wouldn't forsee a problem in using a box for a PC5 vs a PC101. As far as lenses go, what type of camera flying are you wanting to do? RW, 4 way and that type of stuff, even tandem/AFF camerafolk, I see many of them using a .5x lens. Freeflyers who are up close and personal on jumps prefer a wider lens, in the .43x and .42x range, but you may get frustrated with these at first if you're not very close on every jump. I would start out with something in the .5x or even .6x and downsize from there if you choose to do so.

I like the comments posted thus far. I have to agree it depends on what type of skydive is in the mix. Seeing the HD Texas record attempts, many of the guys were down to t-shirts and FF pants, the average was 165-170 on this particular day. I was thinking of a jump with flippy doo's and such integrated, so that slows the average rate down by roughly 10 mph I would assume. The ball I jumped falls 155. Perfectly comfortable for me, but I suppose I'm a wee one. However, the same one has been jumped by several other FF'ers with no complaints. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

What kinds of jokes would Jesus have laughed at?
brits17 replied to Deuce's topic in Speakers Corner
Moses, Jesus, and an old bearded man were out playing golf one day. Moses pulled up to the tee and drove a long one. It landed in the fairway but rolled directly toward a water trap. Quickly, Moses raised his club, the water parted and it rolled to the other side safe and sound. Next, Jesus strolls up to the tee and hits a nice long one directly toward the same water trap. It landed directly in the center of the pond and kind of hovered over the water. Jesus casually walked out on the pond and chipped it up onto the green. The third guy gets up and sort of randomly whacks the ball. It heads out over the fence and into oncoming traffic on a nearby street. It bounces off a truck and hits a nearby tree. From there it bounces onto the roof of a nearby shack and rolls down into the gutter, down the downspout, out onto the fairway and right toward the aforementioned pond. On the way to the pond, it hits a little stone and bounces out over the water and onto a lily pad where it rested quietly. Suddenly, a very large bullfrog jumped up on the lily pad and snatched the ball into his mouth. Just then, an eagle swooped down and grabbed the frog and flew away. As they passed over the green, the frog squealed with fright and dropped the ball which bounced right into the hole for a beautiful hole-in-one. Moses turned to Jesus and said, "I hate playing with your dad." _______________________ aerialkinetics.com -
