  1. That's what my last WARP coach said before taking me out to learn RW... Poor guy, they reckon pretty soon he can take the cork off his fork when he eats. /s

    Lift Price

Where I jump in the UK (Langar) JTs are $19 on a Friday and $24 all other days. This is for '13 000, but we usually get a bit more (one memorable occasion we got '14 800!!!
  3. Hi Pammi The backflip cannoball is LOADS of fun, but better suited to a Caravan than a C-182. You squat on the edge of the door facing into the plane with your arms stretched to the side holding the door edges. Then you do a quick in-out count and flip yourself out backwards. As you exit grab your legs behind your knees and keep yourself tucked into a spinning little ball until you reach terminal velocity, then just arch out of it. It is loads of fun. For an even bigger rush, do this with your eyes shut for about 10 seconds. V. scary but lots of fun.
  4. Hey FFF Since your post about all your guns and life-time NRA membership, I am running scared! /s Hmmm, is that the sound of a polar bear revving?? must run FASTER!!! lol
  5. Hey Pammi I you ever jumped the suit, would that make you a Birdchick??? /s
  6. Please, don't make me laugh - try just under $4 per gallon here in the UK. Also with Supply and Demand - don't those alpha and beta curves dictate that with continued demand prices should DROP as suppliers increase (ie competition) and production costs decrease? So are these price increases the direct result of a monopoly developing in the industry? /s PS Sis do you work nights and then drive 6 hours to the DZ???? Yikes!
  7. Dude, Next week you will be smelling jet fumes and tasting sweet crisp air after some awesome exits from the kick-ass Let at Langar. Knocking back Stella after Stella after Stella at Chuckles and talking absolute bollocks. Then on Thursday you and me are going to get on that plane to Amsterdam, hook up with Ben and Wingi and then HOOOOOOOO-WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! partypartypartypartypartyparty Hmmmm, maybe somebody should warn the good folks at Texel : "INCOMING!!!" We are going to get rat-arsed and we won't 'please explain' ourself to anybody. You and I will grab Ben and wingi in a death-grip and take them on the 4-way from hell (hee hee), our hawaii shirts are going to reach legend status on that DZ. Only one week to go, so don't sweat it man! /s
  8. Aaaaah man, that is excellent Alex! I am so looking forward to trying it too, hopefully next year summer. Were you shitting yourself the first time? How difficult was the exit? How loud is it at terminal? Is it hard to see your alti? You used an audible I presume? Weren't you worried about the burble when you dumped? Didn't your body clock start screaming after 60 seconds of freefall? How hard is it to run off your landings? Man, I have watched footage of the masters in action, Patric De Gayardon and Adrian Nicholas - they make it look so effortless and easy. Sounds like you had a blast!
  9. Why??? Nobody has been abusive, some very differing opinions have been expressed and everybody is now a little more aware of the world around them. Damn fine thread IMHO! /s
  10. Alan, that is taken from the header to this forum - if you don't like the topic of a particular thread, then don't read it or post to it. It really is as simple as that. /s
  11. I get strange looks too when I do that, only thing is, I don't even own a cell-phone!!! /s
  12. Sell it and put the money towards your impending AFF course. No, that would be Charles Simonyi and Paul Allen (remember what happened to Paul Allen after his sickness layoff?). Familiar with the term 'sweat-shop'? /s
  13. Hey cloud9 Get your facts straight : Forbes 500 ranks Microsoft at 22 and General Motors at 15. In terms of market value General Electric is bigger than Microsoft. So, do you know where over one third of the world's tailpipe emmissions of CO2 originate from? Do you really care where your Nikes got made and by who? But I should probably be careful what I say to you, because you probably own lots of guns and have a lifetime membership to the NRA. /s PS the fact that dubya and DICK got so many votes is one of the things that scares me about the states (that and seeing the hotel's 'eat all you can' breakfast buffet in Vegas)
  14. Dutchboy makes some good points. If those SUV drivers used their cars the way DZs utilize their planes, they would have 8 people inside the car plus another 2 hanging off the roof-racks for EVERY trip they made - plus they'd have a little harder time getting a license to drive their monster mobiles in the first place. /s
  15. OK, Emma if getting implants is what it is going to take, then that is what I will have do! (then again if I did have breasts I would probably never leave home) I work up near Wembley and you are right, it is a lovely day - really warm, no wind - hope it lasts till the end of the week (could it be? has summer finally arrived?). BTW Ben and another jumper have both offered to do 2-ways with me, and I have a friend visiting soon from Germany and she gets a good laugh from jumping with me too, so it is not as if I am entirely without RW partners. /s
  16. Or, you guys could build some cycle lanes and start getting some exercize! I have noticed that in Europe cars generally have economical fuel-sipping engines, but in the states many people drive around (on their own) in huge trucks or sports cars. If you cycled more, you would save money, help reduce exhaust fume pollution and get some exercize. Obviously there are times when you have to use a car, but there are also short trips where you could walk or ride a bike. But of course some people are in too much of a hurry to get back to their couch, their TV and their snacks. Something to think about the next time you drive to the gym... /s
  17. Is that yeeeeeeeew John Waaaaaaaaaaaayne? Hmmm, a mooooooooose-head stuck to the grille of the Bear? I think that would look awesome! /s PS mooooose, wingi is from Texas...

    MY 1st rig

Hey Omri Something just occured to me : you are 16, did you allow for the fact that you will be growing a lot in the next couple of years? It would be really crap if your custom rig didn't fit you so well a year from now. One advantage I can think of, is that as you grow, your wing-loading will increase without you having to downsize - so you should have lots of fun with your hornet in the next couple of years! /s
  19. Hi Frank Yes I got video too, I brought the video into work and organized screenings every lunch break in the training room. Now I have 6 people signed up for their tandems - one of them is a flat-mate of mine. I almost feel sorry for him, because I am pretty sure he will be one of us shortly and he is always going on at me about how much wiser he is than me financially, blah blah blah. Hee hee just wait until skydiving destroys his little nest-egg! Will
  20. Yes, he peroxided his hair for the boogie. When I mentioned moooooooose to him he knew who you were. Do you know where we can buy hawaii shirts ? The louder the better. Also I want to wear mine over my jumpsuit so will be making some mods to the shirt to make it safe, ie where can i get CHEAP hawaii shirts? /s PS I just thought up another cool beer rule : if you sound at all like John Wayne when you talk then you have to drink!!! hee hee
  21. I would like to add to what somebody said earlier about the misplaced hole in the bonehead for your audible. I resorted to cutting some of the padding, because when you line the original hole up with the hole in the hard shell, the padding protrudes from the helmet. At the price you pay for a bonehead, you would expect better attention to detail. Also, why not keep the audible on the inside? One guy at my DZ lost his pro-track because a riser slapped it off. I would much rather have the bulge on the helmet and know my pro-track was safe. Other than that I really like the helmet and it is really comfortable. Also for a beginner like myself it is great because I can use it for RW as well (no frap hat for me thank you very much!) I would've given it 9 out of 10 if I didn't have to hack the inner padding with a pair of scissors and my pro-track was better protected. Will

  23. Way cool Andrea! Did you repeat an AFF level just to get photos for an article? (please tell me you didn't have to pay for it yourself!) Also where were these taken (apart from at between '13 000 and '3 500? Because that looks like a desert beneath you? Was it in Germany? Its a pity about the sun in that one pic, the one with the plane diving in the background. Was it the pink BTW? /s
  24. Too late Zennie! I found myself a GREAT CRW coach and I am making my first CReW jump this Friday. He has well over 1 000 CRW jumps and is just an all-round top bloke. He is one of my DZ's instructors. And guess what? He won't let me pay for his slot either! And he is giving me all the briefings and coaching as well. Hmmm, now let's see, how many belly-fliers with over 1 000 RW jumps would take a newbie up for 2-way coaching and insist on paying their own slots? All I need is my IC1 Plus and then I can get signed off to start learning sit-flying. So even if get scared off of CRW after my first couple of attempts, I don't think I will be doing too much RW anyway. /s
  25. Hi guys 'n gals Here are my first ever skydiving photos - I got them taken last weekend and got the prints this weekend. I am going to mail a couple to my family back home, they have never *seen* me skydiving, so it should be fun. However there is one pic I won't be mailing my mom (I think you will know which one...). skreamer BIG-way RW pics /s
