Hi Joolee I actually have a toggle on my old Vector as well - but I am getting that super-cool pud handle on my new Wings (still a BOC though!). About the waiting at Langar, I don't know about that... One of my mates made 9 jumps in one day! I did overhear some people whingeing, but I also noted that they did not have the balls to go to manifest or an instructor or the CCI (DZO) so bollocks to them... The pilots flew their asses off, both turbines were used constantly (changing pilots at refuels). Langar also provided an organizer AND camera to intermediate RW groups as well (ie Cat. 10's who were not yet experienced enough to join the 30-ways going up). This was provided FREE (the organizer AND the camera's slots). Anybody with half a brain could have manifested themselves (and their friends) for every third or fourth load in advance (on either the caravan or Let). V-Max did this and I didn't hear them complaining about waiting 2 hours to get on a load! I am up to my 3-ways on the WARP programme and will be having another go at them this Friday (note to self : don't fcuk up!) /s PS I see you have learnt how to change the font colours - you girl you!

WOO-HOOOOOO!!! Go Pammi - kicking ASS and then some!

So what happened in the Super 12 then guys??? Hmmm, two South African teams in the semis and two Australian teams in the semis... So, what excuse are you going to make this time? Were all four your teams *poisoned*? If rugby is a religion in New Zealand, then does this make you all atheists? hahahahahahahhaha This is almost as good as that little French wing 'The Mosquito' running rings around you guys in the world cup! Hope you can get a decent team together for the Tri-Nations! (will you get some (more) Tongans, Fijians and Samoans to help you out (again)? /s PS trolling can be fun!

Hey wingi I just had a GREAT idea! Bring your fubar main to Texel, we can cut it up and make boxers out of it!!! Hmmm, might be bad though cause that silky smooth ZP would probably cause permanent hard-ons!!!hahahahahahaha Still I think it is a good idea, so what colour is my new pair of underpants (oops I meant your old main)? /s PS alternatively we could use the WHOLE thing to make one pair of panties for mooooooose's next girlfriend, cause according to the boys at Langar he likes 'em BIG!

YIPPPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! I just got an email from Mads Larsen. I explained what happened to him, and they are going to send me a replacement FREE OF CHARGE!!! How awesome is that??? I LOVE LARSEN AND BRUSGAARD AND IF MY BODY TEMPERATURE WAS RIGHT I WOULD HAVE THEIR BABIES!!! I just rung up the DZ and told them the good news and they have just announced it over the tannoy!!! happyhappyhappyhappy /s PS Ric and Gus : Bite me!

Hi Frank I am a skinny little fella, I only weigh 158 pounds (72 kg) in my birthday suit (by far my favourite outfit). I will be loading the '150 at about 1.18 Apart from losing my Pro-Track, I quite enjoyed the ride under the Hornet '170 and managed to stand up the landing. So I am confident in my ability to fly the '150 safely. Plus I am only getting it the 29th of June and will (hopefully) have in the region of 100 jumps by then. I have received lots of very good advice from people like Chuck (thanks dude!) and I can hardly wait to get my new toy. I am currently jumping a Vector 1 made in 1987 and with my Cruiselite '220, canopy rides can get a bit painful (especially when they last as long as mine!).

As soon as I landed the jump master came to me and grounded the rig (not me thank goodness). They called the owner to manifest and he took it to the riggers immediately. Thing is, he is a student (with custom kit already!!!) and he had had the rig shipped to him. I am actually going to the place I am buying my Wings from and will be skydiving with that rigger the next day. I am still going to stick with the cordura pouch, but obviously will check it out VERY carefully. I am there for 10 days so there will be lots of time to get any mods done. I didn't like the fact that the chest strap was the wrong way round, but that is not such a big deal. I had fun this weekend, are you guys going to be there Saturday? We can try launching that 4-way again - myabe if I could go head-down I could match your fat bastard fall rates! Either that or strap the kitchen sink to myself. Also, don't tell anybody but I haven't logged that last jump yet, so I will need an autograph. Damn, this manual logging is just no fun at all and I suck at the maths (what altitude did we exit?). /s PS the jumpmaster on that load happens to be the owner of the Time Out audible company, so the irony of that wasn't lost on me either!

Dude, I can think of one little problem with that plan of yours... /s

Hi guys Well, I had heard about it and now it finally happened to me. On Friday there was a guy at the DZ with a BRAND new Wings/Hornet '170. We started chatting and then when I told him I had ordered the exact same rig (except I ordered a Hornet '150) he very kindly let me take it up for a *demo*. I wasn't very happy with the BOC (cordura and definitely not enough elastic in the lip). However it had been jumped twice that day and it passed the flight-line check. Then when we got to altitude and stood up (the caravan), the jumpmaster saw it and was NOT happy. That hackey was damn near pulling the PC out with just its own weight. So he stuffed it in and I kept my hand over it. He considered making me ride down, but since I was going belly down he let me jump (he later told me he wished he had made me ride it down). That's when instant kharma stepped in. I dumped at '4 500 to have a little extra time to play with the Hornet. My body position was fine, but then 'THWACK', riser slap from hell and some line twists thrown in for good measure. But my Pro-Track got launched into a low-level orbit never to be seen again!! The jump-master later had a chat with me and pointed out that since I was unhappy with the PC I should never have got on the plane in the first place. He then pointed out that I was not a student and I needed to take responsibility for everything about the skydive - gear included and that if I wasn't 100% happy with anything, then don't jump. He did it in a really nice way, it was more of a one-to-one, but the message was definitely taken to heart. He said he almost felt bad because if he had made me ride down I wouldn't have lost my Pro-Track. I just see it as losing the Pro-Track re-inforced a very valuable lesson which I will never forget. I was a bit miserable after that, and then made matters worse by snapping at somebody and being out of order. I subsequently made a sincere apology, matters were discussed with me and it was settled. I am still a beginner, and was in too much of a hurry to get my Cat.10, B.license etc. and things went to my head a bit. I think it is safe to say that I learnt some valuable lessons this weekend and am glad that nothing bad happened (Pro-Track's can be replaced). /s

uhhhh, wingi, could you please pack for me in Texel? NOT!!!!!!!! Well done dude, even though I think you staged the whole thing just so you could get a 'Raven saves' T-shirt to impress the chicks!!! /s
-
And you jump with weights why exactly? As for that 4-way we almost launched, if it wasn't for my death-grips you and Ric would have been NOWHERE!!! Also, less of the touchy feely stuff in the plane next time, I respect the fact that you two guys are *special* friends, but don't try and get me involved in your nocturnal dirt-diving!!!hee hee /s PS and thanks for not reminding me about my Pro-Track every 5 minutes!!!

Hi guys Just read a quick Langar boogie update : Over 115 lifts (caravan and Let) have gone up so far this week (plus quite a few on the 206). Two 30-ways have been built (with more to follow). Organized sunset-load tracking dives every evening. DJ in Chuckles tomorrow night, then Rolling Stones cover band Saturday night. I am driving up there shortly to make some more of my now-famous solo RW big-ways (me and all my imaginary friends that is) and then get blotto with the boys in Chuckles. Anybody who wants a good laugh, keep an ear open tomorrow late afternoon when I will be making my first CRW attempt (and re-earning the 'skreamer' alias, hee hee). Emma, get off your lazy arse and bring all your Hinton friends to Langar - Joolee, we all know you Scots can't drink and are too scared to come down to Langar for the weekend and (try to) prove us wrong! Allan, I'll drink a couple on your behalf tonight. Later /s [Gone Skydiving]

Wesley that is so not true. You people need to practice a little moderation like myself. You guys are pathetic, there is life outside these forums you know... Now I am going to go wash my glass house before hitting the road to Langar. /s
-
What he actually means is he would LIKE some cyber... nyeeehahahahahhahahaha /s

I only have 50 jumps and don't even have my packing certificate yet (how embarassing is that!!!). I had jumped all over the place (South Africa, California, Germany), but now I am settling in nicely at Langar and hopefully I'll get some help getting my packing certificate soon (I'm a little lazy). /s

Don't think I can toss my caber far enought yet!!! (but I do practice a lot ) Ooooooooh, you meant SKYDIVING nationals!!! Nope, somehow I don't think that the world of skydiving is ready for my spastic RW solos yet, and unless solo RWs are an event, I won't be able to participate. Unless you mean accuracy, then I can be relied on to hit the biggest puddle or cow patty every time, hee hee. But if you have an event for drunken high-jinks and talking absolute cod-swiddle I believe I will stand a good chance for the gold (I am v. well trained in that event). /s

Donna makes some good points, I lurk rec.skydiving - mostly I just run searches when I have a specific query or problem. I then email people directly and generally get very good, very detailed replies. And some of that stuff like the on again/off again dust-up at the Ranch is just too funny! Personally I don't think slagging off the entire rec.skydiving here is called for or needed - don't whistle down the wind... Just like these forums, if you don't like a thread don't read or post to it. (but Donna is right, it is not for the fragile ego) /s

Hi Joolee I jump at Langar, in fact I'll be heading up there in an hour or two. About the prices abroad, I'll be jumping at Skydive Naples the end of June : $13 to '13 000 - nothing wrong with that!!!

Nice one Dutchboy! /s

Welcome to the jungle dude!

Joolee £16 = $22,70 And considering how much more heavily taxed fuel is here than in the states, we have no reason to complain. We owe a big thank you to all the UK dropzones because they do EVERYTHING possible to keep Jump Tickets reasonably priced for us. This is one of the reasons why tandems are very expensive here (approx. £200 at most UK dropzones), if it wasn't for them we probably would be paying $28 per jump ticket. Now about the weather... /s

froggie Right now Zimbabwe is not really a safe tourist destination. At the moment South Africa is still fairly safe, if you use common sense and be careful about where you go (and what time of day/night). Actually being a tourist to Southern Africa is not too different from skydiving - you pay your money and you take your chances. That said it is really beautiful and I miss the place (and my family and friends), but it is going down the toilet rather quickly. /s

Bill Dear? Well for starters I am going to use his FULL name whenever I talk to him... No can do on the pre-flight drinks, I am working that day, I will go into work early, skip lunch and still be taking the piss in a big way. Don't think Alistair is going to be up for it (Lisa heard our names, Alistair and Amsterdam in the same sentence hee hee) Me, I prefer jumping from the planes. (what kind of *altitude* does Chuckles give you anyway...) Please remember to try get me some hawaii shirts, the tackier the better. OK, gotta go get some sleep now, driving straight to Langar from work tomorrow (only 5 days to go till your turn!) /s

Right now there is a bear taking a massive dump in a wood. Empuria in July, middle of summer, cheap cerveza, costa brava beach... Hmmm, I'll have to think about it.... Ok, done thinking : HELL YES, I AM SO TOTALLY THERE! I will have finished my normal leave after Florida, so I will just pull a mammoth sickie. /s

moooooooose I'm going to fetch my new rig (using skydiver logic it is cheaper to take a holiday and fly there than it is to pay customs and P+P). I am getting my rig the Friday evening, having my cypres installed, then jumping at Naples that weekend. Then off to probably Lake Wales for the week, then back to Naples for the weekend. So, yes, I am going to jump my little nut off while I am there. When you start considering buying your first new rig - check out Rigs 'n Things (www.para-service.com), I have got excellent service from Roy. Hey, if you aren't stuck on an oil-rig, you should come along - it'll be a hoot and a holler, mmmmkay.
