In any case, I am right along side you guys who think that your heritage, something you cannot help, is not important.     Yeah, thousands of years of persecution just might do that. There has argueably not been one racial group that has not had itself as singled out as much over all of history for persecution. And yet I fail to see the complex of which you speak. THere are those who want rememberance but I don't see many with the "why me? attitude. I do not see it from the MAJORITY of jews I know. And I know quite a few. So it is not say that a FEW might have a complex, but I dare you to find ANY group which has none like that. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome.     This kind of outrage make me laugh and laugh and laugh. How exactly does what a store decides to calls it light affect the way one celebrate the season? Is one's faith so unstable that it is rocked by the exclusion of a WORD from colored lights which actually have NOTHING to do with the celebration proclaimed? From the way "Christians" complain about the lack of words and the way everyone else complains about the inclusion of words, it would appear so. What a worthless thing to worry about.     Oh yeah? What did Bush say about Miers again? I believe it was "I know her heart." Notthing to do with this, but don't try to pin that not thinking thing on just the Democrats. On this issue, it can be said again. The Senate does NOT get the same info the prez does. They did NOT get all the same intelligence that he got. Therefore, even if they agreed at one time, the data that they did not receive may have made a world of difference in their decision at the time. Or maybe not. The key is that they did not have as big a picture as the prez. In any case, are they going about it the wrong way? Damn straight. But I expect nothing more from such a limp party.     Personally, I don't think the administration lied in all cases. I do think the truth was stretched some...but probbaly no more than the average politician. In anycase, the 1st was created to ensure that the radical speech that was being proclaimed during that time was allowed to continue. In the context of the time, yes, it was mostly white men.
