  1. Never once said that Christians didn't commit attrocities during the Crusades. They did. So did the Muslims. Just refuted the notion that the Christians just suddenly came up with it in the name of conquest and conversions. No, they did not JUST come up with it. It had been par to of the system for some time. Opression and control was pretty much modus operandi. And as for the atrocities, the books I have read make the Christians were FAR worse in their actions than the Muslims. Once again, there really is not need to defend them. There was alot of stuipid shit that went down perpetrated by zealous church leaders. All we need to do is acknowledge it and move on instead of trying to make excuses for inexcusable behavior. 2. Are you mad that they changed a HEADLINE to something that actually fit better without labeling one enthin group? I don't like Fox myself, but man, that is stretching the complaints. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  3. What the Crusades Were Really Like Gee, catholic.org saying the crusades were not that bad. I guess the books I read about the horrible atrocities committed by Christians during them were all wrong. Now, personally, I don't hold any christians today accountable but come on, they were not a good thing, even if most of them were failures. There is simply no reason to defend them or many other actions of the early church. A simple, 'that was stupid, glad we learned from that" will suffice. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. 4. whew. I am glad you said "I'm" in that last sentence. For a second, I thought you were the Borg. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  5. I find this logic delicious though. If Liberals hate her for being right, why do Republicans hate Al Franken? (I know who I am quoting....just directing this ponderous question at you for your amusement Rehmwa. ) Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  6. Purgatory....artificial or spiritual. "they were on the good list." I am going with that theory for now. Lost is awesome. If you want another absolutely great show, chekc out Veronica Mars. Little late now cause there alot of plot lines, but check the first season DVD. One of the most underwatched shows in the world. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  7. Since you mentioned Al Franken. You need to complete the statement to say something accurate. Like She is like Al Franken except that she is attractive and does not speak complete non sense. She deals with facts, is not a complete liar and proves that liberals in general are full of themselves. That is why so many them hate her. Actually come to think of it she is nothing like Al Franken. You can't even say that she believes in her side as much as he does because he knows he is full of it. If he believed in 1/10 of the his position, then what he said would not be 90% flat out lies and 10% half truths. . I laugh see --> Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  8. Is that even possible? wow, you REALLY have not seen Ann Coulter then? seriously, the woman is utterly vitriolic in her hatred of anything democrat. Even more so than rush. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  9. While I don't know if this would be the best idea, I would LOVE to see opposition party members in the cabinet...of any president. Just look at Lincoln's. The man put all his political ENEMIES in his and then worked with them. And to those who say wrong party...there is no requirement that a cabinet member of an adminstration be of the same party. Or maybe you meant wrong party as in the Democratic party sucks? Well, I concur, but the Republicans are not proving much better. Maybe if we mix em all up, something MIGHT happen. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  10. mountain dew...bleh. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  11. or Michael Moore, but conservative and less slovenly. or Pat Robertson but less religious and just as wacky. mmm, extremist. Idiots. But this game is fun. Lets do some more!! Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  12. Did I say it does not? The fact is that we are talking about drug tests, not alcohol. There is no test for alcohol use like drug use. Alcohol is legal. That is why I did not mention alcohol. yes, but the topic at hand was the relation of drugs to performance, not its legality. At least that is what I was talking about. I even conceded the point that in jobs where accidents could happen, drug tests may be a good idea for legal purposes. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  13. ooo, I think I owe beer for this.
  14. ooo, I think I owe beer for this.
  15. Some think that a drug test is a good indication of how the person will perform. Studies have shown a correlation between drug use and poor employees. Plus if it did not work companies would not spend the money to do it. sigh. well, at least you ignored the part about the drinking. Because that has NO effect on work. Like I said, good in some job areas. Not worth it in others. Companies can do whatever they please. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  16. ammmmmmuuoooooosing indeed.... What is up sinker....err, micro! How goes it today? Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  17. Would you please not bother me? There is no rule against what I am doing. you don't like it, don't read it. My posts carry as much weight, maybe more, than your posts. And they carry more than you bitching about mine. Wow, feel superior much? But they amuse me so carry on. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  18. You had a guy saying he had a bomb, reaching into a bag, refusing to obey a marshal. If he had done anything differently he would be alive still. He was acting like a threat and he was delt with as a threat. Shame it happend, but he is at fault, not the cop. If I walked into a courtroom and said, "I have a gun". Then ran from the cops while reaching into my pocket. I would expect to get shot. Would you PLEASE read the EINTIRE thread before responding. This too has been covered. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  19. If you have a good hiring manager, I would hope the interview is done well enough that the person's skills and qualities can at least be somewhat determined. For years companies got by without drug tests in just that manner. Do you think our workforce has gotten BETTER in the years since drug testing has taken to such popularity? You don't test for drinking. And I am not talking about being drunk at work and the legal ramifications of an accident. I am talking about the effect of heavy drinking on performance. What about alcoholics? There is most likely a STRONG corrolation between alcoholics and poor work performance, yet we don't ask questions about that do we? Because it is legal to get so blitzed every night that you can barely function the next day. Being legally responsible is a different argument. I agree there. For jobs which have that potential (say fork lift operator or truck driver), drug testing may be a valid option. But I don't think it needs to be done in every area. In any case, it is up to the company. In the same way the government should not MAKE companies give drug tests, they should also not MAKE them NOT give them. Ya don't like it, ya find another company. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  20. And how will you know if it will affect their job performance? Simple. If I tell them, "get this done". and they do it to an acceptable level, then quality of work is just fine. Call me crazy, but I think good project results would be a pretty decent indication of good performance. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  21. I use Comet, Pledge, and Drano. Good going down but it leaves you empty inside. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  22. "I played around with it a bit, but it's just another browser, and IE [Microsoft's Internet Explorer] is better," Mr Gates told me, and challenged my assertion that Firefox's 'market share' is growing rapidly. Oh MY GOD!! How can he say IE is better??!?!?!? oh wait.....Something about it being his product might do that. I use firefox. What we are going to see is IE co opting everything Opera and Firefox do for their next release (as usual). Of course, they will probably still avoid the standards THEY HELPED WRITE and use proprietary shit. Of course, I don't blame them entirely for making stuff wacky when it comes to stanards. While the ydid just plain ignore some things, W3C standards are just too fucking loose and leave alot of interpretation. Unfortunately, MS chose the way that makes everything harder when it comes to cross browser web development (which is what I do). And for that reason, IE is the bane of my existence. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  23. And I will say THIS again: Anyone who gets disturbed over the LACK of such items should join up and get that counseling as well. If the lack of publicly displayed items (in stores or otherwise)of a particular holiday affects the way YOU (the proverbial you) celebrate with family and friends, then perhaps you need to reevaluate yourself. Worrying about the way Macy's phrases holiday displays or the way a city designates its decorations is such a fucking waste of time when one should be focused on what the holidays are actually for: friends, family, and life. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  24. What the hell is wrong with everyone one? From what I can see, Rebirth is saying that is sucks that terrorism has us so wound up that this happens. It sucks that a man's life was lost. He is not blaming the cop nor does he say that the cop should have done anything different. And neither am I. Jesus. Damn -- after you posted Rebirth. Oh well, I will keep the post in for emphasis.
  25. I got what you are jamming on home skillet. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
