By the way, you owe me $89. ( $89 for opinions, $289 for correct opinions.) Sounds like your shower valve is limed up. There, earned my $89. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

What type of shower valve do you have? Approximately how old is it? Do you have hard water? (I am a plumber, or plumbologist, as we prefer to be called.) Also, as Cochese mentioned, a service call and a group shower will most likely be required. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." I had a cat that drank water constantly and pissed by the quart. Also, when she walked her hind legs splayed out. Turned out she had diabetis. I currently have a cat that yuks up hairballs. Never takes more than a few minutes. Take him to the vet. Something major is wrong. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Get "The First Jump Course" produced at Airohio a few years ago. Very complete malfunction section. We use parts of it in our FJC. Good luck! "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Wow--where to begin? Butt naked after getting out of the shower after gym class jumped up and swung from the chinup bar. Face planted after trying to land on my slippery wet feet and my front tooth slid across the floor. Fell asleep on my motorcycle afer not sleeping for 24 hours and then worked a double. Hit a telephone pole. Woke up just in time to avoid running my face into it. Major shoulder trama. More recently, and more dumber, installed gutter screens on a hot day. The roof was so hot you couldn't touch it for more than a few seconds. Burned my butt while sitting on it. (My wife wanted to take a picture of it, but I thoughtfully declined.) I"ll stop now. A friend and I travelled from Indianapolis to attend a Crew camp that we discovered was re-scheduled for July. My hotel room was paid in advance and non-refundable and the weather looked good so we went anyway, expecting to just spend a couple of days doing Crew by ourselves. Nothing of the sort happened. John Hart, the DZO, and Travis, one of his instructors, spent the entire day jumping with us, giving us private Crew lessons, essentially for free! My friend, an experienced Crew Dog, learned some new tricks, and I, a pup, got 14 docks in four jumps! Awesome! I've heard many good things about Start Skydiving, and many reasons why it is such a great place. I think it's outstanding because of John Hart. We'll be back! If you live within a day's drive of Cincinnati you gotta check out this DZ!

(Dusting off my Elements of Style, Third Edition): If two or more clauses grammatically complete and not joined by a conjunction are to form a single compound sentence, the proper mark of punctuation is a semicolon. Also: In a series of three or terms with a single conjunction, use a comma after each term except the last. As I have understood it, a semicolon is used to separate independent clauses, not lists. I went to Flora this morning and got to see what their windsock looks like at 30 mph "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Yeah, I'm going to try to get there, maybe later. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

I called the airport but got no answer. The dam broke at Prince's Lakes. Very bad. My brother-in-law said airport road was flooded but another friend said the water has already receded some. Name 3 things you're looking forward to in the near future
Croc replied to maestrabella67's topic in The Bonfire
1. Getting my AR back from the gunsmith 2. Crew Camp at Start Skydiving and, um, let's see... Oh yeah, 3. pedicure "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy -
Many hangups, but by far the biggest was night jumps. Had a real big story going on about them. Then I did them. They were great! Had no trouble at all seeing. I think sometimes we invent things to be worried about. One bad landing and"I can't land." a few missed targets and "I suck at accuracy." Hangups are mental things. Don't listen to the little voice in your head that tells you what you can't do. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Just got a chance to look at the dvd. It is not method specific but all the examples they show of students on their first jump is AFF. Also all the EP's are done with a two handle system with a BOC throwout. We probably will use parts of it. There is an extensive mal section and good sections on flying and landing. I just bought the dvd by Winkler. I'll post some info as soon as I have had a chance to look at it. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Does anyone know anything about the video, "The First Jump Course" by John and Linda Winkler. Doesn't say anything about the method in the ad in Skydiving magazine Anyone use it? Thanks "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Anyone know if there is a modern static line instructor's dvd (FJC)? The one we are currently using was made in Skydive Chicago probably 30 years ago! Thanks "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Do some CREW. It will become immediately apparent how your canopy is flying--i.e., what toggles vs. rears does, how much fronts do you need to get down, etc. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Checking my 2008 SIM,section 4 categry A, D.2 offers nothing specific. Of course I'll bring this up wth the DZO, but I'd like to hear how you would handle. Sorry if I'm highjacking the post. How do you deal with a planeload (3) SL students? The one in the student position is hooked up, so he'll use his main. The other two students have SOS systems with a static line in their hands. How do you get them out. Thanks. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

What Dropzones in the USA are NOT affiliated with the USPA.
Croc replied to Amazon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think Xenia, OH is not a USPA dropzone. Nice place, too. I don't remember ever signing a waiver there either. LOTS of corn. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy -
I'm a plumber and our company is a Rinnai dealer. After more than a year we have sold one unit. When the Rinnai seminar was over we all looked at each other and said, in unison, "I'm NEVER selling one of those things!" In a new house with a softener, maybe you'll get your money out of it. As a retrofit--you won't. The biggest problem is the flue. The tankless unit has to be located where the flue will work, and that means usually in a garage, which means you have to get all your piping out there, greatly adding to the cost if your tank type heater was in a basement or otherwise inside the house. Also there is a flow restrictor on the unit. If you have, for example the dishwasher and a shower going at the same time you'll notice a drop in flow. Think lifestyle change. Installed, these things are four to five times more than a replacement tank type. You won't get it back. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Should D license requirements be changed?
Croc replied to Croc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just for the record I did two night jumps in Flora, Indiana this summer. I no longer have any opinion whether or not they should be a requirement for the D license. I see a trend, however. Considering how difficult it was to find a dropzone willing to have night jumps, I humbly predict that they will go the way of balloon jumps, water jumps and jumping rounds--something offered occasionally and for fun only at boogies. Flame away. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy
