Monkeycndo is right. I've been a licensed plumbing contractor since 1984. Don't EVER pay a contractor in advance. Pay when the job is complete to your satisfaction, or pay according to a previously agreed upon schedual as the work progresses. Professionals will give you a written estimate up front, will show up ON TIME and do what they said they would. You'll pay for a professional for sure, but you'll pay a lot more for shoddy work that eventually will have to be redone. The plumber you described is surely in the latter category. Dump him NOW. Good luck! Dave Crocco PC810629 "Protecting the health of the Nation since 1984." "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Did a couple of night jumps there two weeks ago. Had a great time--can't wait to go back! "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Did two night jumps there last night, plus one earlier to get aquainted with the landing area. Owners Terry and George have created a little gem of a DZ on a shoestring budget. But there is no scrimping on services. Besides instruction they offer things many bigger DZs don't--like regular night jumps and get-wet actual water training. Well worth the drive to find a DZ that caters to the fun jumper. I will definitely be back!

Check out the S&W model 342. I've got one and it is so light that you can forget that it is in your pocket. Loaded with Buffalo 158 lead HP (1040 fps out of a 2" barrel!!! ) and you've got something. Don't get a 25. I was working with a guy in a housing project when he was hit IN THE HEAD with a 25 round meant for someone else. Shooter was 30 yards away. Round did not penetrate his skull, and he didn't know he had been shot until some one found the bullet. Just got a gash. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Brubeck, Miles Davis (Kinda Blue is jazz like Everest is mountain.) Also I'm surprised no one has mentioned Van Morrison. Check out Celtic Excavations on Poetic Champions Compose. Got three freefly coach jumps from Pip and was sitting in two jumps! Friendly staff and rigger, easy drive from Tampa Airport. If you're in central Florida this is a must jump DZ!

This guy made you pay for a reserve ride when you were renting student gear? Are you joking? You need to find a new DZ pronto! "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Liberalism in the Classroom (Long, but I need your opinion)
Croc replied to Michele's topic in Speakers Corner
Sit tight. You can't get to be a dean in an American university unless you're liberal. He (she) will not be sympathetic. It is, after all, a chem class. Don't take the bait. If he talks trash just don't reply. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy -
Balloon jump at the WFFC this summer. Have no idea where I was. Never saw any of the people I jumped with again (I was solo, and last. We had to drift quite a way to find a good landing spot, and then I ended up landing beside the road anyway.) I guess everyone else hitched a ride back, but the chase truck found me. We were 30 (THIRTY!) miles from Rantoul. The woman driving the truck was from the area and didn't know where we were. Got back using the compass on the dash until she recognized some landmarks. Got back at noon from a morning jump. Best jump so far. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Believe it or not, my first canopy was an early Lightning that didn't have the logo on it. Everyone thought I was jumping a PD 218 and couldn't figgure out why I was having such horrific openings. You could hear it open from inside the hanger. After about one hundred terminal openings I sent it to PD for a reline and Rusty Vest informed me that it was a Lightning, so I sold it and got a Spectre. Anyhow, I learned to handle those openings by sitting up upon deployment. Perhaps a bad habit, but it sure helps with opening shock! "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. I think I paid $99 to jump the Perris jet at the WFFC. $65 dollars would certainly be worth it. I'd like to jump it again. I flipped on the exit but didn't have any trouble getting down to my buddy. Definitely go for it! "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Colored, non blinking LED. Also I like the Dollar Store fiber optic trees. I have one in every room. Keep the X in Xmas. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

College degree - do you do what you went to school for?

Degree in Enlish literature (1974); master plumber since 1984. Pays the bills and I like it. Can't beat that! Published a novel in 2002 that you all should buy RIGHT NOW. (Search my name on Amazon.) I have a true liberal arts education, which I use every day. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Children as young as eight or nine can be taught to safely shoot a .22 rifle as long as it's a youth model. This does take the mystique out of them, and children learn to respect the power of firearms as well as how to enjoy the sport of shooting. I taught several of my nephews and two nieces to shoot at around that age. They all enjoyed it tremendously. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." My 2 cents. I think DaVinci has it right--a loaded .357. I recommend a Smith and Wesson model 65 loaded with Glasers. No fumbling (think of 3 a.m., dark, etc.) Pump and auto loading shotguns have springs that will take a set if kept loaded and possibly misfire. That goes for magazines as well. Bushmaster makes a fine rifle, but a .223 will penetrate an interior and possibly an exterior wall, although Magsafe makes ammo that would work indoors. Still, fumbling, springs, too long. .357 loaded with Glasers or Magsafe gets my vote. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Are you saying that a Spectre can be relined for CReW? What exactly do you ask for? Will it still be OK for terminal openings? Just did my first 4 stack and can't afford a second canopy, so I'm thinking of getting a smaller Spectre. Should I get a Triathalon instead? I guess I'm in the same spot as the poster. Had a Colt Commander that never jammed, stovepiped or malfunctioned in any way, even with my reloads using unpolished brass. But my favorite "1911" is a Glock 19. We don't need no stinkin safeties! If I remember Gun Tests rated Kimbers generally ahead of Wilson Combat custom jobs because they were too tight. Somebody help me out here. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Will is an aspect of desire, a desire to be or not be something. Man does not have free will because man is not free; men are slaves of their desires. Were men free men would have no desire, no will. Thus the term "free will" is an oxymoron. God, who IS (your definition, I think) has no will, no desire. What could God desire? God is ALL. (Again, your definition, I think.) Perhaps your thoughts would be clearer if you dropped the "free will" idea and just say that when our minds are focused we are "nearer to God." A focused mind is very "quiet," having only one subject. "Be still and know I am God." Isaiah, I think. In that sense, I think you are right. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom.
