This specifically, and prostitution generally, does not dehumanize women. Look at this another way: At Sheri's Ranch the women choose to respond to the electronic bell which signals the arrival of yet another pig-man, unable to control his impulses. This inability renders the man ripe to be taken financial advantage of. The "inspection" is advertising and/or competition between the women involved to see which of them will be able to take advantage of the mark and gain a significant monetary windfall. VERY bad thing in and of itself; incredibly bad, incredibly scary thing for a presidential candidate. It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention -

So two weeks ago Billy Boy Clinton state that "stand by your man" Hillary needs to win both Ohio and Texas to win. Now, tonight, with Texas too close to call and Ohio not completely a consensus call(*), Hillary is claiming victory and a win -- WTF? Generally yes. The mortgage company is free to offer you a mortgage with PMI with slightly different terms -- which you are free to turn down in favor of a better offer. In today's market, 20% down should pretty much guarantee you a "good" mortgage (good being relative to your local housing market to some extent). Also, if you house appraises for $90 and your loan is for $70 (77%) you should be able to make your first X (until you reach 80%) mortgage payments and than apply to the loan company to drop PMI. HOA contracts - what to do with them when buying
MikeMcLean replied to tetra316's topic in The Bonfire
Another option (one that I am in the process of doing) is to purchase with the HOA and than become a member or president of the HOA! It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention -

If it is a deed-restricted community, where the deed to the house grants the HOA its powers, your choices are sign it or not purchase that house. It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention -
The death of any online community happens when the moderators(*) decide to flex their muscles and "enforce a standard". This ultimately will create a battle or show of wills between the moderators and a segment of the community -- which will drive the regular quality posters away and poison the online community. Unfortunately this is what is starting (last year or so) to happen here. The decline is well underway -- and unless there is a sudden surge of tolerance, respect for all contributors who create the economic value, and a realization that the relationship is absolutely 100% not "guest in house" but "customer to business" -- and is nearly inevitable. The moderators flexing their muscles (aka penis length contests) are the result of the site owner forgetting that the posters to the site are what create economic value -- we are customers and contributors regardless of how many times people repeat the "guest in house" false mantra. All online communities, as they grow, will go through a shock value stage -- where a subset tries for notoriety by shock. It takes a brave site owner and moderating staff to realize that that stage is a growing pain and that the best response to that "teenage angst" is to let it be in the realization that it will die itself if left alone. The worst possible response is to actively fight it. To date, this site has shown no such bravado nor maturity. What is so special about the 800skyride debate that a) caused it to be mentioned in the previous thread and b) caused several individuals to send me private messages to me about it? Has that topic become this message board's "Godwin's Law" ? Note: I get the general sense of the background and debate itself and am sure I can search for specifics in the forum should I be so inclined; my question is more of a meta question on the special place this debate obviously has on these forums. No need to warn; I responded in a adult manner with no moderator / nanny intervention required. Interesting how that can work, huh? It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention

I wasn't / haven't been challenging anyone; I consider that a personal attack and I ask that you please refrain from that type of commentary. It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention

On the flip side of that you could say: "The mere fact that there are continued threads about "why my post was deleted" or "please explain" indicate that a degree of childishness is occurring." Challenging moderators, whining, name calling, etc. are indicators of childishness. Questions, more likely, indicate a moderation issue (heavy handedness, conflicting policies, bias, elitism, etc.) It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention

For there to be an appeal to fear, there needs to be a presentation of an argument or position (to which the appeal to fear is used as a fallacy to support). A thought experiment is useful precisely because it is not an argument, not advocating a point of view. Questions about consequences (i.e. "fear") in a thought experiment are not using fear to support an argument and therefore not a fallacy. Never said there wasn't ... but like all things the devil is in the details. Is repetition of various unproven -- and likely unprovable because they are false -- statements to the point of nearly religious fervor followed by application of those statements in a heavy handed fashion the right details? Or, would/could looking at the problem from a different angle be extremely helpful? There would need to be critical thought about the memes as step one, acknowledgement of an inherent risk in the memes themselves and the moderation style they promote as step two. From that step a rational healthy discussion about what constitutes and how to achieve an open, but controlled, forum may result. As the Zen Master says, We'll See. Why does it matter what other boards I post at? Is it a matter of you not believing what I'm saying? I assure you I am not lying. And besides, the only reason I even mentioned the other boards was to validate why I think this board is heavily moderated, and it is, compared to what I'm used to.

We learned that heavy handed moderation is a largely untested area of law; there may be money to be made there may not be. The corollary is that there may be less-risky -- to both the site and the individual moderators -- methods of maintaing order; at the very least discontinuation of the heavy handed repetition of un-tested (legally) memes would be a step in the right direction. Anything that reduces friction between the elite privileged class and the masses (who generate the value) is a good thing.
