Sounded fun! Its never too early to hook it!!! Seriously, its never too early to learn how to flat turn. Its what will make the difference between a really bad mistake and a really well executed good last second decision. Dont plan to do a low turn (whatever low is in your book) but always have the flat turn as one of your outs. Remi Muff 914

Its eh, not ay!!!!! But as far as controls for canopies, its not a rule, its a DZ thing... and that is the case for any gear... if a DZ decides not to let jumpers jump what they see as a dangerous rigs, like, say a Reflex or a Wings (JK folks), its their call... even if its TSO'ed up the ying-yang... which is pretty much the same in the UK, CDN and the US. Hey Gerald, I wouldnt say to loudly that your from SA (you'll be guilty by association of being like Creamer!.. Seriously, I wish we were purely joking about this.... In the good ole USA, Canada and many other places (I think the UK too), you can jump whatever you want, as long as the DZ lets you in the plane... and some people do... Remi Muff 914 Lemme edit this before I get misunderstood... I'm not sure putting a blanket statement like "no eliptical under 200 jumps" is the right answer either. Designs may change, maybe a 1.1 loaded large cobalt is fine after 100 jumps (dont know, never seen one). But the same way you know sleeping with your sister is wrong (alledgedly, I'm a only child ), so it should be for a 60 jumps person to jump a Vengence at 1.4.

Richard, I really dont mean to pick on you (between this tread and the RSL one, it sure seams so, but trust me, I'm not). I'm not talking about the specific of the jump you had (as you said, we weren't there)... I'd rather keep it general. Triatlons (and pretty much any canopy) sometime snivel. Depth perception is VERY diffcult to master especially when you've got other things to worry about (like keepin g on heading in a track, and watching all around you for traffic). What may look like 1,000 feet may be 1,500 or 750 or 500... Again, maybe you can. I know I dont want to trust myself with that kind of a call. Bottom line: Dont open directly above someone else. If you can see them in a scan while tracking, you're close enough to colide into them. Remi Muff 914

I hate to say that the Brits DZs have something right (I love you guys, really! ), But at some DZs (I'm sot sure if its a standard rule at all BPA DZs) you have to sign in after every load. Glad to see you're alright Lew... Remi Muff 914

I feel I have to fule an official protest on Phree getting CN#2.... This was a direct result of a post of someone with 60 jumps flying a Vengence at 1.4.... COME ON! EVEN PROST WAS AGREEING WITH PHREE!!!!! Remi Muff 914
