I though the same thing, but took pity! 70s is nice in the UK .. even in summer!!! so never mind Canadian winters! Remi Muff 914

Polypropylene undies are modern version silk... Silk may feel "silkier" (allegedly) but the wicking properties of Polypro are far better. Its also cheaper then silk (yes, you can still find real silk termal undies, but its more and more rare) "Lifa" are a good brand name for it. It comes in various weights (the ligher one is a good start, but they also have a pricier heavy weight that borders on Polar fleece). On the subject of polar fleece: beware of cheap imitations! The real stuff (made by Polartec) is IMHO best. I am a sweaty bugger, and found that the cheaper versions do not wick away moisture as well as the real stuff. And, I think that now all of Polartec's fabric are 100% recycled form plastic coke bottles! warm and enviro friendly.... A great outdoor equipment site is http://www.mec.ca. Its a coop, you pay a one off $10 canadian for lifetime membership, their stuff is of extreme quality, and the price is a fraction (remember, the prices you see are canadian pesos) of the comparable stuff from, say, Mountain Hardware, North Face and the likes... And I can confirm they will send the catalog abroad, even to the UK... Remi Muff 914

This is more netertaining then a good X Files.... lol All joking asside, I hope that whatever they do is the right thing (whatever that is...) Remi Muff 914 -
Chuck: this is exactly inline with what they were advertizing... a tri cell xbraced for the rest of us... only I dont want to pay for all the negatives of such a canopy (high price, volume, packing, and best performance at very high wing load) if I dont get the extreme input capability to swoop hard.... If i swooped hard that is... time will tell if it gets the market acceptance... Remi Muff 914

Don't take my word for it! http://www.actionair.com/actionair/cnt_.html I haven't contacted them, so I cant say for sure, but looks promissing for us poor orphans.... And folks: if you think after sales service is bad in North America, try the UK and France! The concept hasnt reach these shores yet... heck! pres sales service or general customer service either! I though it was on this forum, but it might be on wreck... There have been several people flying in the US lately with no problem whatsoever with their rig as carry ons. Remi Muff 914

Good to have an open discussion about this... I'm of 2 minds on the subject.... Yes, any escape is better then a certain death, but I am sure that if these systems were widely available, the people using them would expose themselves to more risk then witing to be rescued by the fire/polie/ambulance people (whatever)... Lets be rational here: you will not very often end up with planes crashing into skyscrapers causing fires that will weaken the structure enough to cause a collapse.... IMHO escape parachutes would probably have saved a few lives in NY on Sept 11, but that was an extreme situation. But now imagine a regular fire in the Sears Tower, and equip 1/2 the people in it with escape parachutes....Lots of people may panic, and end up puting their lives in more danger then witing for help... Justin, Fliteline has in deed gone bust, but you can still get parts from Bomber manufacturing (do a quick search on Bomber in this forum for contact details). The parts aint cheap, but the same can be said for some other brands from what I've found out. I lost my freebag (and bridle, and pilocute and poptop...) and got replacement ones all the way in the UK.... took a few weeks (lost them just before Sept 11), but I still got them (the pop top cover color matches well the rest of the rig too) But I share your frustration:owner of an orphan rig.....some lucky bastard will probably get a good 2nd hand rig if and when I sell mine... That being said, I think Bomber has started to make Reflexes too... They have an order form for the CReW version of the rig available.... Remi Muff 914

Micro lines are in deed dangerous.... but thats not to say that Dacron isnt either, just less so... And if you are really getting into CReW, you want a real knife, not one of these $5 plastic thingies.... either the metal hook knifes, or imitate the CReW dawgs out there and carry 3 or 4 full blown hunting knives! Remi the CReW expert with all of his 2 jumps.... Remi Muff 914

Tease... lol Remi Muff 914

I wont get into the wingload thing (150 sq ft sounds right, and if people who know you suggested it, should be fine!) As far as which brand, PD is pretty expensive in Europe. You migh want to look into Parachute de France. Their Electra (sabre like I think, allthough it may be constructed of F111 for the bottom skin, and ZP for top skin) or Springo (Stileto like) are, from what my rigger said, lot less expensive in europe.... Hi Alphons, yeah... some DZs do that because of either flight restrictions or not wanting to fly over the neibourhing town to keep the relations good (Empuria in spain for exemple) Remi Muff 914
