I think there are EXPENSIVE gizmos that allow you to take 360 deg pics that later need to be digitally processed to shape them back to a "normal view". It kinda souds like what Dan eluded to, but I definatly seen 360 deg pics from them.... and seen a pic of one of those set ups... Think of a normal SLR, but looking straigth at the sky (vertical). Then a funnel shapped mirror in front of the lens (the small end of the funnel against the lens, the wide end away from it, and the outside of it being mirrored), and voila.... you end up with a "donut" shaped picture that you now need to "unroll" to see a normal view. Now back to reality, 12 jumps, having a combursome case strapped to you, not a great idea IMHO. As an instructor, I would not let a non licenced jumper do it. Sorry Viking... Remi Muff 914

If you have graduated from a student program, get a licence. Period. Most DZs will not even consider letting you jump there without a A licence at least. As far as "X"PA membership goes, lots of DZ will require it, and if you go abroad, some will demamd you sign up with the local org (the same happens with us sometime when we visit the US, and we are asked to get a temp. USPA membership, and when we moved to the UK, the 1st DZ we went to dequired BPA membership). Remi Muff 914

***USPA has this rule for a reason.*** be it 3.5 or 4, USPA has rules about that???!!!!???? rules???? as opposed to recommendations??? man, you folks in the US are evn more F-Uped then these brits I live with now! Back in the land of the chosen (yes, thats Canada, actually, Quebec is the land of the chosen (dont tell my Albertan wife that I said that), but I digress), there are only 10 basic rules ( BSR Basic Skydiving Rules) for licenced jumpers.... the rest are recommendations... Clay a 1.47 loading is ~fairly~ aggressive, expecially since it would be your 1st ZP.... Borroe a ZP 190 1st just to see how different it can be, then try demoing a 170... and as far as landing a canopy straight in... most people can easily land a canopy a couple size smaller then what they fly if all the conditions are right in a straight in approach... its the other landings/conditions that will hurt (try this.. long spot.. yea I can make it back.. yea i can.. shit....)... I'll be the Eurotrash here then (remember, I'm a canadian, a french one, but a canadian none the less...)... I am no conaisseur, but everytime I've tried US wines, I have been greatly dissapointed..... It aint a Eurotrash thing either: I've found some really good Ozzie and Sout American wines... maybe I'll need to try again.... PS: just did a booze run to France last week, and I hate to make you North Americans winge, but I bough 4 dozen good bordeaux and bourgognes for the equivalent of US$3 a bottle.... I love France....
