when I chopped in the begining of december I lost my reserve handle. I had a new one on my rig 5 days later from Wings. when the fallinwoman chopped on her Mirage it took them almost 3 months to get a reserve handle too her.....hence the reason I'm not a big fan of that particular manufacturer. the excuses they gave were the best though. they kept changing. love it when they lie to ya..... I have seen several canopies open just fine after being in a brick state. I jumped a navigator 280 that hadn't been repacked in several years. opened just fine. DiverDriver jumped a velocity that really did look like a brick and was hard as a rock in the D bag...hooked it up to his rig jumped it...it opened fine...after a small delay...I doubt your canopy would of mal'd. the opening sequence is very very dynamic. sitting on the ground opening a canopy that is compressed for so long is very static...not the same at all. just my two pence. advice for someone with darth vader's helmet...
skymedic replied to PackerBarry's topic in Safety and Training
Ummm..most women that I know of can't see there handles due to there built in equipment..I just dont see his problem as being that big of a problem. you can work on the issue and fix it by feel. hence the beautfy of having a pillow release and a metal reserve. two totaly different feelings. I may be wrong...but the way I read the FAR's is that the risers are not part of the harness/reserve container/reserve system....Because the FAA doesn't care if you cut away or not...they just care the reserve deploys. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

HOLY CRAP...I think it just set in....I'm NOT IN MY 20's ANYMORE!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!.... really it isn't that big of a deal...I had fun in my 20's can't wait to have an even better time in my 30's. FallinWoman treated me to an awesome dinner...and then the STL card's fan that she is even bought me a Greg Maddux Cub's Jersey...isn't she the bomb. I know I'm not on here too much lately....but I'm still in the top 35 posters still But' I'd like to say thank you for all those that I've met and those that I will meet lets have some beer. the one thing that is surprising about my 30th birthday is, it was 9yrs ago about this time, that I was first diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma....and the Dr that I first went to said I'd never see my 22nd birthday...well FUCK him is what I said...and here I am. Never in my life did I think I'd make it to 30...now here I am with my 10yr old daughter living with me...me living with an awesome woman...now all that's left is a skydiving wedding...hehehehe...dont tell Anne... LOVE YOU ALL...and GOD I LOVE TO BE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can only have one or the other..I'd say skip the stainless and go with the articulation. although I am a freeflyer and I love the way the wings feels as I go from head down to sit to stand and back again...I have both articulation and stainless and it is very nice indeed....but if I had to give up one I'd give up the shiny for the comfy.... What was he doing "cruising along" towards YOUR airspace during your opening...seems to me he should of seen and heard your opening...and avoided that area. also kinda sounds like he was flying up or down the line of flite...is that a possibility? Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I had about the same jump numbers as him when I was recomended a safire 1 from Simon no less, back on 2001 when I started jumping. A safire can be flown and safely flown at that wing loading. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I'm a fan of white or neon yellow(lemon) top and bottom skin's and dark ribs red or black....I'm all about the white and red now a days...or the red and yellow would be bomber... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman.... -

what is the most relaibly softest opening canopy?
skymedic replied to Tinkerbelle's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
sure does...but then again ask the fallinwoman about her personal experience with a spectre as it exploded over her head. so much for letting the sunpath boys pack there own demo rigs. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman.... -
