reserve:Raven DashM 218 loaded 1.18 flew great, on heading openings both times. flew straight, sunk compared to my stilleto(7cells)even landed real nice with stand up landings both times out and on a field one time with high beans. toggle stuck and high G spinning line twists with RSL deployment. the Fallinwoman(my fiance) and I just got home from the WILCO concert here in ST.Louis. it was awesome. I love this band. So glad I decided to pickup there album yankee hotel foxtrot a few years ago. it is awesome. funny thing is I work in the town that Jeff Tweedy(lead singer) grew up in and that his parents still live in. very odd. check out www.Wilcoworld.net Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I have performed several surgical cricothyroidotomies in my career. one was on an obvious neck fx with a full faced helmet on a motorcyclist. and that was on the side of a road with the rider stuck inside the car that hit him. it is a relatively easy way to obtain an airway...in my opinion. But you open up other problems when doing that. especialy in the environment I work in. and you are right they are not complicated. sometimes less complicated than some intubations I've had to face in the field....especialy with traumatic injuries. In my experience with full faced head injuries. easiest way to see if someone is breathing is stick your hand as far up into or down near the nose/mouth while still maintaining Cspine. you can feel heat and moisture. I work as a fire/medic when nascar comes to our local track and have taken care of a couple of knocked out drivers and this is a very easy way to check the abc's in one shot...well the a's and b's at least... I could never figure out these kinds of rules...I just dont know how the parts of the rig. be it container, harness, reserve, main...goes bad on that first day past 20yrs. so it is safe to jump at 19yrs and 363 days...but a few more days and it's bad voodoo. I dont get it. if its airworthy its airworthy.... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

Well I had my second cutaway today. Dumped at about 3000 or so, got lazy, dropped a shoulder is my best guess and found out the joy of what they call a spinetto. I was on my back in a flash, with a diving spun up main canopy and my ditter yelling at me. all good fun. I did what any sane person would do. I cut that crap away. perfectly nice open Dash-M 218 over my head. on heading no line twists and WITH an RSL. under a good canopy about 1000ft.Nice stand up landing with lots of flare in the beans. thing flew grate for me. it's not overloaded...maybe that's the key to good landings on the Dash-m's and ravens.YMMV. I'm glad I do very regular mainenance on my cutaway system. I had line twists below the slider down to the risers and had a very easy cutaway. proof that paying good attention to your gear will save your ass in a pinch. this was my first cutaway that was a FAST one...it had to get done now...and I did it with out panic with out fear and smoothly. like it was all slow motion...even though it definately was not. thank's to Jason Mark for the save...now I gots to go buy da good stuff for him.

I have seen two katana's at my DZ and a few vengence's with vectran. I dont like the fact that when the stilleto gets out of trim it starts to spank ya. I have been used to vectran lines for my skydiving career as all I have jumped is icarus products with vectran installed. I would like to stay with that. thanks for the replys Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I sent an email recently to PD about getting my new to me stilleto relined. I would like to have a Vectran line set put on the thing. the Email I got back was they will not do this. I am a little confused as to why they can't do this but whatever. Any one know a rigger out there that would be able to do a vectran reline on this thing? thanks, marc Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I'm sorry but even if the student had a soft helmet on a hard hit to the jaw of the TM could knock him out. I have seen this often when I am with people that have no apparent injury to the jaw but got knocked out by a lightweight punch to the jaw. I think soft helmet or not he'd of still got punted had he been hit the same way. also to say that someone "deserves" to be hurt isn't so nice now is it? the TI in question isn't a "too cool" guy at all.
