  2. Negative Ghost Rider, A quick look at the Cypres manual show's the following.... "CYPRES 1 works with a battery that is calculated to last for approx. two years or approx. 500 jumps. The battery is a high-energy density type, with long life, low self-discharge and has a long shelf life (approximately 3 years), as long as it is stored in a cool, dry location (below 68°F). It consists of two round cells, and does not contain heavy metals. Each battery which has been installed in CYPRES 1 has to be replaced after 2 years at the latest. In case that the rig or CYPRES 1 will be out of use the battery should be removed and disposed of after 2 years to prevent possible damage. The battery can be replaced by the user, however, the procedure is tricky and demands considerable attention to detail. The 2-year maximum period does not start until the battery is installed for the first time. After installing a battery that has been stored for more than 6 months, it is recommended that the CYPRES 1 be turned on and off 4 times in succession to “activate” the battery. " I hope this helps the original poster...I think it's important to prevent disinformation from being spread. also here is a better Cypres Site. it is Airtec's own... http://www.cypres.cc/Sites/englisch/Frameset01_engl.htm Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
  3. You'd be wise to just pay for a new repack...I've seen some pretty scary stuff bought "used" with a "new" repack. If it was me or someone I knew there isn't a chance I'd jump it with out knowing the rigger personaly. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
  4. Here's my wings...love the split tye dye look...
  5. same as me...would of been pretty damn ugly...but I had faith in my skills and training. Cross wind would have been kind of out of the question due to other traffic and obsticles in the area...but it was in my thought process. I just knew I'd be able to do it anyway. faith in training!!!
  6. just a little biased huh??? Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
  7. Well not really...I saved my self. just to prove that I could do all the things he has in his "before you downsize list". I hadn't flat turned to final at low heights. well I found my self out last(sucks being a freeflyer sometimes) on a loooonnnggg spot with some decent winds. I knew I could make it back but I'd be well below pattern height. well when I made it back I was sub 250ft...I know not very smart. downwinding the thing would of been pretty painfull at the windspeeds of 18-20mph. so I did a nice flat turn to final. ended up on final at about 50feet or maybe a tad less. just enough time to set up to flare...well what was left of my flare. since my toggles were down half way as it was I didn't have much punch in my flare but I didn't hurt my self which is good. it is nice to know that instead of freaking out...the fact that I practice flare turns, stalling my canopy and such on every single jump helped me to do what was right not what was instinct. training pays off...once again.
  8. there will be a size to fit you for sure....just remember there is a difference between harness size and container size...

  11. I dont see what the issue is....your eyeballs and a back up altimeter is what you need. whether that is a visual altimeter or an audible is up to you. but you should rely on your eye's to tell you how high you are. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
  12. Nope I've seen it done....you have a grate of small barrs over the end of the vaccum so the material isn't sucked in. you use it after you have flaked and straigthened your lines, pulled the tail up and around the nose, and lay it on the ground when you have your triangle. you stick the vacuum in at the point you have ths slider and tail wrap...suck your air out.....then...take vacuum out....proceed to fold under and do your Sfolds then into the bag...does that describe it well enough. a plane old shop vac does the trick. doesn't need to be too big or powerfull at all.
