Hey mike, I collapse it and roll it tight behind my neck. it never pops up with constant head pressure. problem was this time I lost that toggle then I leaned forward to try to get it at the same time the slider went up and the whole thing knotted up like a beehive hairdo. NOT fun. worked on it and worked on it. but with all the recent slink, steering line deaths...I wasn't gonna play that game for much longer. so i did what I did. oh and who ever says raves dont have much flare...there right!!!!
-
Oh yes...it was very interesting that this was the first time I've landed out at Archway....and I lost my DAMN HANDLE...GRRRRR...last I felt of it was the cable of the ripcord slipping through my big ol mitts.... oh well...its a great skydive when ya walk away...

I've been treated like crap by quite a few DZ's on that list...and great by others. but to say there ALL friendly is a bunch of BS. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I have a wings built for a DashM 218 and a Xfire 2 149...that's a mismatched combo...but then again I dont jump a cypres so chance of two out goes down a bit with that...even though it is not impossible. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

vibes vibes vibes.... I have beaten cancer...not once..not twice..but three times. and as far as the Dr's doing it...well if i believed the first opinion I'd of been dead a lonnnggg time ago. just remember a positive mental attitude is where it's at. constantly stay positive. even if it feels negative you HAVE to push it away. I am comfortable with dying...THAT took a long time to grasp. but I am much more comfortable LIVING. and that is what I did...I lived...and still live due to my positive attitude. vibes to your friend JT...and tell him/her to NEVER GIVE UP!!!!...EVER!!! No where have I ever had to get orders to push med's untill I started this last job. everywhere I have worked we had relatively free reign to do what had to be done. the only time I had to call in my past jobs was to place a chest tube, do a cut down for a line, or some other invasive Tx..and that wasn't a can I do it...it was a "this is what I am going to do" call. when I worked in FL, if I were to make my radio report in and had to "ask" to do something the Dr's on the other end would have writtem me up in a heartbeat. granted I was flying down there...but I know the FD's were the same way in many places. the FD's I worked at out of the chicago area were the same way's. "DO NOT DELAY TREATMENT TO CALL THE HOSP." is labeled on all SOP's. Do then tell what you did is how it is run. the feeling is if you are a paramedic...you should know when and how to apply your skills. granted stupid medics do not last long and are quickly ousted from the systems, and there are no dual trucks(1medic,1EMT)...my last FD up there almost everyone was a medic from the fire cheif on down. BUT...alot of what you said on the negative side is very true...abuse, hard work, crappy hours, FAT people....blah blah blah...but on the other hand...I like my work, most of the time. the last post I had up there was from 2001...I was at a low point in my life...thought I was burned out..but somehow I am still here. I have been a medic for over 10yrs now an EMT for almost 2 yrs before that. but like you...I have no where else to go...I have worked fixedwing, rotory wing, tactical, critical care ground, privates, FD...and it just isn't a challenge any more. time for me to move on. I ended up not going to nursing school that year due to my Ex wife losing her job...that happened to me multiple times with her..thank god I am no longer with her... anyway...be safe out there... USPA Temp memberships & traveling skydivers
skymedic replied to tkhayes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
TK...what are you going to do if USPA drops insurance for us this next meeting? After talking to Gary Peek the other day...I am rather nervous about this issue.... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman.... -
I have also observed this very behaviour...maybe this is why people at my DZ think I'm nuts for psycho packing...but then again we have quite a few flat packers here too. some of them think PRO packing is nuts. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

yep...already thought about the climate control issues..that is good to go...good temp right in the middle of the house...we no water lines behind it. thing I was the most worried about was deformation. I put plastic caps on the end of the pipes to protect the rigs in that way. made sure they were cleaned of any grease. but I might just go out and get a PVC cover pipe...or maybe some tape...but then I worry about goo coming off the tape...through the other side. I was thinking maybe some hockey tape...not friction tape but the other stuff. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

DiverDriver jumped a velocity that had been packed up for a LOOONNNGGG time. we are talking year plus....it was literaly a brick and then some. well it opened just fine for him. there are alot of forces on that canopy when you open...I am sure it would have opened for you guys... a hop n pop to me is the single most fun thing I do as a skydiver....it rocks...well other than a kiss pass from the fallinwoman

Lisa, I'm like you lately...and dont know why, I dont really jump any where close to the amount of jump numbers you get....yet I just don't log all that much. I do log that I jumped...and what type of jump..but that's it. oh well, Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I can't post a pic as I dont have a digi cam....all I can say is it is 1 1/2 inche steel plumbers pipe. cleaned off real good. and attached the the wall with a 1x4. it's the same set up they have at the DZ. hence the reason I used it. I just didn't know how it is on rigs that STAY there...althought I know sever DZ's that use this method to store there student/instructor gear. marc Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I miss XRT... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

Now I know it's been on here...and eather I don't know how to search correctly or just having a bit of operator error...BUT...here's my ?. I have recently installed some piping in our closet to get our rigs up off the ground. Fallinwomans is installed just above mine. This has really helped clean up this closet from hell. now I dont see any problems with it....but maybe I'm not looking at it in all the ways possible. anyone see any issues with this storage/closet from hell taming method? Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I find that when some people pro pack as they are pushing material under and into the cocoon they can loose control of there lines and push the control lines around in front of the nose. I just dont have this problem when I psycho pack as I can feel the lines all the time...there right there. just one of my observations....
