Good for you. Are you taking any supplements like Omega 3 fatty acids or flax seed oil? Isn't Whole Foods great. There's one by my work and I aways get lunch there. Try the three bean chili, it's so damn good.

Outside some clubs here in LA they have hotdog vendors. Anyway, the dogs are wrapped in bacon and served on a bun with grilled onions (almost carmelized) and ketchup. IMHO the best drunk food when walking out of a club or bar at 2am and theyre only 3 bucks.

Netherlands Hospital Euthanizes Babies
Casurf1978 replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
I seriously doubt that. As stated in the first part of this thread several doctors were involved as were the parents. Any society that address such a sensitive topic as this would not apply it to mentally retarded kids. Look at their society in general, overall very proggresive. Now what I see happening in the next 20+ years is genetics rearing its head into this picture. I could easily see parents with enough money saying 'I want my kid to be 6 foot +, blue eyed, brown hair' or genetic testing of certain diseases. -
Just curious, so basically instinct or what you've done naturally for 13+ years took over: go for the main. Still a very damn scary story.

I grew up in El Salvador and during Dec all my fam would go to the beach house we had on the coast. My extended fam also had one a few hundred feet down from us and we would spend the entire month of Dec there. It was a freaking blast. Yeah, they would have presents, but mainly for the kids. Plus down there we would buy firecrackers, m80s, m100s, REAL bottle rockets and crap that could blow a barn door off its hinges. My cousins and I would either be playing in the pool or on the beach, while the parental units played poker or pool all day long and got pretty damn tipsy. To me that's what x-mas will always be about, spending time with the people you love and enjoy being with.

Netherlands Hospital Euthanizes Babies
Casurf1978 replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
It's not as simple as that. Each case is different. In this case with the Netherlands it's a society that's mature enough to look at this issues and make a choice. I cant begin to imagine how hard and painful it must be for a parent to face such a decesion. -
For my mom I'm getting her a day at the Spa. She seems to like it a lot and she started hinting that she needs a 'Spa day' ASAP. Plus the whole being pampered for a day cheers her up. Downside is her bday is 3 weeks away and guess what she wants. Now for me I'm getting my self a brand spanking new safire2 169 or sabre2 170. AGH the choices. The rest of my relatives are getting x-mas cards.

I agree with you there, you have an excellent point. I wonder though if Kellog offered them some sort of retraining program. I know some companies offer it, others just hang 'em out to dry.

Never said that. What would you have done with a plant that was out dated and losing at least 50+ mill a year. You're also in a market that's decling with 75% of your profits coming from that market. You're competitors are literally kicking your a$$ with products that suit the 'eat and run' lifestyle. A trend in the market which previous CEOs ingnored. Lay-offs are horrible, never did I say the workers were at fault. On the contrary they are the ones who usually pay for bad management decisions. Overall from what I've read about Guiterez and the corporate culture at Kellog he is a good CEO.

Why are so many American jobs being shipped overseas?
Casurf1978 replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
I think the American consumer has a stake in it too. We want more bang for our buck. Take for example a pair of Jeans. You have one made in China that sells for $75 and lets take a name brand like Lucky which are made in the USA (almost 100% sure they are) and retail for at least $100+. Which one are you going to pick? When people shop at Wal-Mart they shop with their pocket books regardless if the American made product is superior in quality. . -
That plant was 93 years old and out dated. He did something none of the other previous CEO's had the courage to do: close that plant. Lay-offs are horrible, but it wasn't his fault. He was handed a company who got side swiped in the whole 'eat and run' life style we have. Kellog didn't see that coming. Before Guiterez Kellog derived 75% of its profits from breakfast cereal (a market that was and is still declining). Talk about putting all his eggs in one basket. Then he purchased Keebler Foods for 4.4 billion and brought that down to 40% of its profits from breakfast cereal. It use to take Kellog close to 2-3 months to roll out new products, now they can do it in less than a month. Overall I think he's a good choice.

Also get some spanish magazines or books. Dont start of with Don Quixote, just something to exercise your mind and start getting use to the structure of sentances in Spanish. It will also help out your vocab too. Barnes and Noble and Borders have magazines from Spain and Mexico also newspapers too. Good luck.

Not really. Not once did I mention budget in my post. I'm talking specifically on Presidential influence on the financial markets. Someone mentioned the dot com bubble burst and it happening during Clinton's Presidancy. Was it Clintons fault? Hardly. Even before Bush v Gore 2000 the economy was already showing signs of a slowing down and whomever won that election was going to deal with an economy that was heading south.
-
You cannot blame Clinton for the .com bubble burst. PLEASE. What was he supposed to do? Tell VC firms not to throw money at any business plan that walked in with a '.com' at the end of the company name. Or tell investors not to pay $300+ a share for Broadcom when it was worth maybe $20 a share. The POTUS is not responsible for how the makets perform, he can 'influence' but he cannot wave a hand and have the S&P500 shoot up a few hundred points or come crashing down. Also the economy is cyclical, what goes up most come down.

Me too. ALSO be very carefull with Kazaa. I downloaded a Trojan horse and it jacked up my computer pretty damn good. Keep your anti virus software upto date too.

I love it. When science and researchers disprove a myth all of a sudden its 'left-wing'. As to socially 'unacceptable behavior', well how prevelant is infidelity amongst married couples? How does that impact kids. Once again a statement is made: gays should not adopt and when asked for proof as to why none is given.
-
It did, but also remember the mid to late 1950's: Jerry Lee Lewis, Chubby Checker, Elvis, Fats Domino, Bo Diddly, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly. These musicians and others are the fathers of Rock and Roll. The 60's kicked ass, but w/o people like those mentioned the 60's would've sounded very different.

Boy Scouts of America and Religous Discrimination
Casurf1978 replied to Unstable's topic in Speakers Corner
Check this link out. I dont see too many other organizations coming to defend people like the Vegas street preachers. http://atheism.about.com/b/a/125225.htm -
Here's an even better one for you. PETA has full disclosure of financial statements since they are a non-profit. Penn & Teller did a Bullshit story on them, they found out PETA took in 4700 strays one year and only adopted out a few hundred. The remaining strays were put-down. The manner in which they were put down was not too humane either. They basically found out PETA has a huge ass freezer, kindof like the ones butchers use. Penn and Teller also showed PETA's offices. WOW, pretty nice place for a non-profit org.

DAMN! I love a good burger, but to do that to Angus beef. That just aint right. They probably overcook it too.

More like a two year old with ADHD. Great pets, but also require a huge commitment. What type of Macaw do you have? We have a blue and gold.

LMAO. Kindof reminds of that Looney Tunes Cartoon where Bugs is the matador and he's in the ring with a very pissed off Bull.

Try Tylenol PM. I know a few people who get migraines and this helps them out. It seems the sleeping agent in PM helps them relax.
