  1. How is it riduculous. Do you know anyone who paid $20 mill to go up in space? If so then get back to me because I use to work for one of them and worked with him on a daily basis.
  2. I do not agree at all. Two totally different regimes, heading in totally different directions. You are right they are different regimes going in different directions, but there is enough commonality between the two to necessitate(sp?) them being allies. Hey, Stalin and the US weren't exactly best friends during WWII, but we needed eachother. The thing is China does not need Russia. What economic benefits would an allegiance with Russia bring? What does Russia bring to the table? Look at Putin, the guy had a boner for Lukos Oil ever since the CEO funded his opposition. Putin literally sunk Lukos Oil on allegations of tax fraud. Granted they might have skiped a few laws, but to say they owed more in taxes than what their revenue were. Here's a link I have on Chinese IT industry. Granted its old but still relevant. http://www.infoworld.com/article/03/12/09/HNchinaict_1.html Hell Russia is selling seats onboard their rockets for $20Mill a pop. That's how bad they need money.
  3. Come on.. nothing is better than a Michelobe Ultra Nati Lite is pretty damn good though.
  4. Hey just curious to see if anyone here has an IPod and what they think of them. Apple just came out with a smaller version, a little smaller than a pack of trident gum and it's around $100. I'm thinking of getting one now. http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/
  5. It's a two way street. If we start offing political heads of state and other figures sooner or later we would lose ours too. I personally have no problems with assasinations, but to openly support them Hell No. Keep them under the table. Also this whole we train special groups to carry out assisnations and other special ops does not work. One, who's going to control them, and most importanly what's gonna prevent this person or group from using them for their own political gain. It's way to easy to say that person might be a threat to me so lets off him and his family. It's happened before and will happen again.
  6. Being from that country, El Sal, and having family member killed by both sides, also talking to fam member who lived there and still are there this is not an solution. The country is still a shit hole where banditry, kidnappings, torture and corruption are prevalant. We have a coffee plantation down there and can only travel to it during the day mainly because of banditry. Once my mom and relatives were held up at gun point coming back from our farm. Its gotten to the point where we are about to say f-it all sell it and not invest more money in that country. We use to have a coffee and sugar refinery, but during the land reform, mainly led by the USA, it was taken away and given to a co-op. Now that refinery has to have annual subsides to keep it a float. Most of that money comes from our tax dollars. Last time I was there we drove by it, it was a shame since it was pretty much falling apart. My uncle was going to sign a multi-million dollar deal with a major mexican corp, the corp pulled the plug when they too almost got held up. The deal would've brought hundreds of job to the region. I had a good laugh with that article, the country is still a shit hole and there is no 'solution'.
  7. She was on Haldol, I'm not talking about Valium or Xanax. Haldol is strong shit and from what I've read used in severe cases of Schizophrenia. They use this shit with people who have severe LSD flashbacks. She's not evil, she is very VERY f-ed up mentally. You cannot hold someone who is insane to the same standards you and I are held to. The one who should be strung up is her last shrink. He took her off Haldol, released her while she was on suicide watch (this is right before she drowned her kids) and told her to think happy thoughts. That the guy who I wanna see strung up.
  8. I dont think she should be put to death. She was cleary f-ed up mentally, haldol isn't given out unless you really, I mean REALLY need it. I would hope the state medical board sits down with her last shrink. She had a past history of severe mental problems, suicides attempts and he tells her to think happy thoughts, pulls her off meds and go see a psychologist. I would say that is beyond negligence, bordering criminal behavior.
  9. I found a profile on her, hope you peeps find it intresting. http://crime.about.com/od/current/p/andreayates.htm
  10. Body fat % and composition differ for men and women. Here's a link that will help you out http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/body_comp/a/aa090200a.htm. The best advice I can give you is get a body fat composition analysis either with the water tank or the Bod Pod link here http://www.bodpod.com/. Call them up and see if theres one near where you live. Also visit a nutrionist since your diet reflect close to 70% of what your body looks like. You'd be amazed how simple things like cutting out simple carb and sugars will do. Also incorporate an exercise regime you enjoy. After about 6-8 weeks go get another body analysis done. Give your body time to adjust too, dont expect overnight results.
  11. Get a speed rope for your local sporting goods supply. Easy to use and you dont need a lot of space. Start off slow like 1 min rope, 30 seconds rest for 10 minutes. Then up it to 2 min rope, 45 seconds rest, finally try to get 3 min rope with 1 min rest. Do this for 15-20 min. I find it gives me a better cardio and overall workout than running on a treadmill.
  12. No.... Agreed. Just look at this article, it proves we are not a litigious society. http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=oddlyEnoughNews&storyID=7258041
  13. I have some pics I sent over to RI if you want me to email them to you. Thanks for the advice Aggie. I'll get the risers and have three things taken care of with one visit: risers, HH and canopy installation.
  14. Would you guys recomend this type of riser to only those who are flying highly loaded ellipitcals or if you can get them then install them. I'm asking this question since I just bought my first canopy sabre2 170 (wl of 1:1) and my rig, Talon2 made in 1997, has the hybrid hard housing. I already have the mod to make it full hard housing and might has well drop everything off so my rigger can put it all together at once.
  15. You can also check out body fat calipers. http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/Pages/Calipers-pages-new/Accu-Measure-Fat-Calipers/Accu-fat-new.html Inexpensive ,11 bucks, and easy to use. I've gotten some funky readings with body fat monitors scales.
  16. BS BS BS BS BS. The second wave was 10 meters, thats freaking 30+feet, so how big was the first. This paper is telling me a new South Wales surfer paddled intoa 30 foot plus wave and rode it. A handful of surfer can ride those waves, they get towed in and are riding 10 foot plus guns specially desgined for huge ass waves.
  17. How can you compare Thailand, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka to us? You could combine all their GDPs, natural resources, and technology and take it to the 10th power and still that wouldn't come close to ours. Is this all of a sudden a quid pro quo or a pissing contest? If they didn't help us out in Fla during Andrew, NYC in 9/11, LA in 1994 why should we help them out. While surfing once someone got pulled out by a rip tide, I didn't sit back and go,"hmmm would he save me if I was in that position" I just jumped in and went after him. When I see pictures of people in these regions I dont see Muslims, Jews, Catholics, brown, yellow, white or black skinned people. They're freaking human beings who need help and if I can help them I will. I could care less what France, or Saudia Arabie do.
  18. Not slamming you at all, but I doubt those pictures are altered in anyway. It's brown due to all the mud, and debris. Also look at the color of the ocean, thats pretty damn close to what it looks like here in So Cal after a severe storm when all the crap gets washed out to sea.
  19. Same thing happened to me. Didn't want to buy into the hype but they are excellent books. All I can say is they keep on getting better and better. I enjoyed 3-5 more than the first too.
  20. Couldn't you also say that Japan after the civil war, if you can call it that, of 1868 was on its way to democratic process. The Emperor was supreme but the Meji restoration ushered in extreme changes that one could say planted the seeds of democracy. You're also not taking into account the huge western influence in the late 19th century. Also remember that even though Japan was utterly demolished in WW2 the underlying structure for democracy was still there. It would be intersting if we could talk to Gen MacArthur about this.
  21. Personally I wouldn't go. Even if I spent thousands on a vacation there. One, I wouldn't feel right knowing that around me tens of thousands of people died and millions more are suffering. Two, my health. Disease and pestalince are looming. The UNICEF director stated that thousands if not tens of thousands of kids will die within the next few days from daireha. Many also state that diseases might whipe out an equal amount of people. If people still want to vacation there let them, but they better know what they are heading into.
  22. Go see it. It's a good flick, like someone said very non-hollywoodish. The movie was made with a small budget and from what I read in Rolling Stone filmed on weekends and most of the shark you see in that movie are real. They couldnt afford fake ones.
  23. DAMN. Prices are crazy all over. Here in Hermosa beach I saw a small two bedroom one bath beach house built around the 1960s, around 950sq feet $650K. It's on a huge property though. Sometimes I wonder how the hell is a single young professional like myself gonna afford a house in So Cali.
  24. mine is included in howeowners insurance Is it pretty easy to add my rig to the homeowners insurance?
  25. IMO the ones who will get hurt are those who bought more house than they can afford. Case in point my co-worker, he can barely afford the mortgage for his current house. He should've bought a condo for half the price. Overall from what I've read the real estate market is healthy and growing. It might slow down, but crisis like what happened in the early 90s is highly unlikely. Also even in a hot market an overpriced house will still have problems selling. http://rismedia.com/index.php/article/articleview/8806/1/1/ http://rismedia.com/index.php/article/articleview/8807/1/1/
