My girlfriend can tell all sorts of stories about that. (but won't do it on the forum again to avoid being blasted by holier-than-thou types) witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

So, if you get something you never really wanted and will never use (and doesn't bring you any great joy), is it ok to re-gift it to someone else? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

my brother got me a small yet indestructible safe (of course it's not here yet) also under the tree were: two dress shirts with a tie usual BS a warm camo jacket for January a kite with a skydiver on it some serious cold weather clothes some very possible re-gifting items The best part was having some of my stuff returned to me from Alabama and some loaner items from my brother. Seeing my mutt and the two loveable little shits from bama was nice, too.

Should I make up a story that i just saw the old version of The Wizard of Oz, then comment on how much some on the left sound like the tin man before he got a brain? As to your little christians and christmas comment, just llok to some of your buds on the left to explain that one. According to recent posts, most christian holidays, especially christmas, are nothign more than hijacked pagan celebrations. In that case, isn't it the true christians who would forsake the jolly old fat man for a hearty "Bah, Humbug?" ps - Merry Christmas, professor witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

These posts were also for Shotgun's benefit, as she was unaware of people using firearms effectively for self defense. If people don't know why I might need it, I'm more than happy to discuss it with them. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

To jcd11235, the "immaculate member" Seeing as you can't differentiate between freedom of religion and a complete ban on religion, can't differentiate between welfare of a country and paying "welfare" to private entities, can't differentiate bewteen regulating commerce and stockpiling gold, and several other fairly simple issues, consider this notice that from here on out I will ignore you and your posts completely, unless you offer up more personal insults. You, sir, are no gentleman. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Since you're new to the boards, let me be the one to tell you that disagreing with a self proclamed "prgressive" does not make a person conservative. I am a Libertarian. I happen to understand that individual freedom is a worthy goal, and that government is by it's nature ill-suited to controlling social change (and most other enterprises as well). You don't have to believe in it, unless you are a party to the government and have sworn to uphold it (as all military, police, judges, and representatives have). Yes, it allows for change. Those changes are called amendments. Simply claiming that it says something different does not make it so. The SCUS interprets the constitution. If they haven't decided that a simple phrase means something complicated, then I'm not inclined to believe it does, either. ps - don't think so highly of yourself. I am attacking your ideas, not just your posts. Talk to kallend, or dekker, or phillykev (outside a gun thred) and you will see that I dispute and discus their ideas fairly often. They don't believe I'm singling them out for any sort of conservative persecution. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I am not here to give you a remedial reading class. Try forgetting about the trees long enough to see the forest. Right, everyone knows the words in a law aren't that important, just the most convenient twisting of them. Of course, there's not difference between palm trees and pine trees. I guess they're both the same, live in the same places, feed and protect the same species... Yup, no significant differences. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
That says provide for the welfare of the country, not to pay "welfare" to people or groups. That's defense, not social engineering. Stockpiling gold is hardly regulating commerce. I don't even know which issue you were trying to address with that. I hardly see how jurisdiction over WDC and running the militia when it is actually being used has anything to do with the question I put to you. Again, what are you addressing here, interfering in education, the reserve, gun control, or paying "welfare" to private entities? edit for two spelling double taps witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

First, check This Website. You will find it useful. Second, please tell me you can see the difference between "there is a complete separation of church and state" and "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -

If you don't see the Christian connotations of a nativity scene, then you either don't understand the concept of Christianity, or you don't understand the concept of a nativity scene. OK, try to follow this. Allowing a religious group to express their ideas in a public forum (where all others may do so as well) is freedom of speech, not establishment of religion. Please tell me you can see the vast gap between "no establishment of religion" and your version of "separation of church and state." I think you don't understand the issue. The public land has been declared a public forum. Christians can have their nativity scene if they want to, but anyone else can also put up displays. Have any christians popped up to say the other displays shouldn't be allowed? If not, what is "the issue," according to you? Really? So I'll ask again. Where is separation of church and state written in the constitution or SCUS decisions? hint: It's not the same as 'no establishment of religion.' witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -

Uh huh, so you're going to tell me that allowing citizens to erect a nativity scene is establishment of religion? Yeah, so let me know when they begin executing people for preaching judaism and islam. I just want to know why you think people exercising another first amendment right, freedom of speech, is so terrible when done on public land. Afterall, even bogus festivals were allowed to be represented. I didn't see anyone saying "this is a christian display, all others are forbidden." What's the deal? I can say anything I want, as long as I agree with you? Freedom of speech with an asterisk? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -

I have never seen or been shown law or SCUS decision that shows a "constitutional separation of church and state." For those who believe it exists, could you please show me where those words are written? I really want to know where the idea comes from. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
In your proposed scenario, I question my own ability to do so, as well. I don't ever want to have to answer the question with paniced people crossing my line of sight. However, your scenario doesn't match the details of the incident that sparked this thread. The CCW holder was five to ten feet from the shooter with no one else between them. Had I been in theshoes of the CCW holder facing Gale, I don't doubt myself. Like Kevin said, what stops him, really? I don't believe in punished things that "may introduce a slightly higher level of danger." I support punishing people for doing something wrong. I don't support secondary laws that try to prevent people from being able to commit the (real) problems. Prior restraint is NOT a good thing, in my book. I wonder if you'd have said that about Joel Myrick. To paraphrase the bard: "I'm trained by the government, and I'm here to help." Of the many cops I know or have known, there were a choice few who took every opportunity to "go into hero mode." They're the ones that worry me. (don't worry, I'm not one of those nuts that hates every LEO out there. Hell, I plan on being one myself in the not too distant future) witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
