The Teuller Drill is meant to show that a person can close with and strike you in the same time or less than it takes you to draw and fire. The lessons that you can take from this are as varied as the... colorful statements people make after they screw it up the first time and "die." What I take away from the drill is that footwork is equally as important as practicing the draw. For responding officers, who can't always move the same ways, it justifies drawing or resting a hand on the grip. For injured or less mobile people, it can show that the gun is not always the best choice in a violent attack. It's not a priveledge, it's a RIGHT!!! I'm just glad you mention that there are benefits as well as costs. Just about every person that wants to ban guns only wants to talk about the costs, and refuses to discuss the benefits. That's because we are trying to keep the thread on the topic it was intended to cover. So of course it couldn't have happened, right? The fact is a lot of people bitch when they get hit with those repercussions. They cry about freedom of speech and censorship. The fact is neither have anythig to do with the situation. They were free to say what they wanted. No one censored them. I told him that I would be ignoring him and his posts in the future, unless he insultedme or anyone I care about. I doubt anyone could honestly take that as a request for more personal insults, even him. Also, before siding with jcd, you may want to read some of his posts. He belongs in the Corner as much as kallend or tuna. So according to you it is better to have a bureaucracy that syphons off money that would have gone to charity? I happen to believe that giving to charity should only involve a person and the chairty he wants to give to. I don't see the advantage of pying out hundreds of millions of dollars to the government so it can waste money and not be held responsible. If a charity wasted the way the government does, no one would give thema dime. However the state can take it by force, and they do. I don't believe in socialism. Some people want to believe that the First Amendment offers free speech with no consequences. That's just not the case. If someone says something unpopular, then it is everyone else's right to express their disagreement. THe "protections" of the first are only to say what you want. They do not prevent other people from telling you to take a long walk off a short pier. That's about all that is not covered by First Amendment. The written words has been included as speech, whether on paper, t-shirts, or posters.
