They win a few at the lower court level, but at some level in the appeals process, they have lost every one. The idea of blaming the original manufacturer of a product, for the actions of a criminal who misuses that product, is so whacko that no judge wants to put his name to the idea. Unfortunately that idea does not seem to ha.ve percoloted to other misused products. You mean fortunately it hasn't spread? Or do you actually want to see Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc sued for drunk driving deaths. Ford motors and GM sued for fatal car crashed unrelated to the functioning of the vehicle? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

DHMO is truly frightening. Even terrorists are getting their hands on it. I've heard they even ingest it. The filthy animals. Taking something that is trying to cover our world and putting it into their bodies. Oh, the humanity. Ban it now before the terrorists use it against us. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Nope. They've been used in rapes and kidnappings to keep victims quiet. They've also been used in assaults. (thrown at drivers in passing vehicles) Nothing is so innocent that it couldn't be placed in that category. Using gun banner's "logic," EVERYTHING has to be banned. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I don't understand this reasoning. We have banned driving through a red light, yet people still do it. Do you advocate not having laws against driving through a red light? Or stopping for a stop sign? For the fiftieth time, driving through a red light is inherently dangerous and qualifies as a bad act. The "logic" of a gun controller would say that we need to ban cars to prevent fatal crashes and people running red lights. No one is saying that there shouldn't be laws against assault, murder, etc. What we are saying is that it makes no sense to ban an object just because it might someday be used in a crime. (A) prior restraint is a bad idea and should not be part of laws (B) what objects don't fall into the category of 'might be used in a crime someday?' witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

First off, you completely ignored the second half of my statement. You know, the part that proves my point. Second, my point referred to objects that are available to private citizens on the open market and available on the black market where they are banned. The IRA didn't have much trouble getting one into Ireland, did they? (of course, they couldn't use it worth a damn, but that's irrelevant here) Nukes don't fall into the realm of common and privately available commodities. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Yes. They are referred to as "convicted felons." witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I figured out the R, H, I, and F, but I'm reaching for the "W." Care to enlighten me? ps - no, .50s should not be banned. People who belive banning ownership of an object will prevent bad people from commiting crimes with that object are delusional. Anyone care to guess whether convicted felons (who are banned from owning firearms) still commit crimes with guns? I think that just maybe it might be a "yes." witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I know, that's why I left out group/country names. I think that's the one thing any rational person can agree with. Terrible things are being done by both sides. That is war, and that's why we need to AVOID them, not START them. They want to make their money and concession stands are big bucks. It's their choice. It is their place after all. Restaurants and movies don't want outside food or drink either. It's not the state that prospers, it's the wealthy prison corporations who keep the politicians in office with contributions hwo get rich and "share" the wealth. If the money went to the state, you and I might actually benefit somehow. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

The teams are private entities, right? The stadium security isn't discriminating or seriously incoveniencing anyone are they? People will still pay to go to the game with or without the seraches, won't they? The only problem I have with this practise is that the fields are not truly private property. If government would stick to the scope of government and leave entertainment to the private sector, then I'd say search whomever you please, as it's your land and your right, and their right to leave and not enter if they chose. Whoever, because the government is involved in one shady way or another, we need to involve the courts and make lawyers a little bit wealthier. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Put those two together on a ticket and there isn't a chance in hell they'd go anywhere. Unless it's a plane ticket to eurasia. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Hypothetical for you (feel free to not answer, I do it all the time to hypotheticals) You lead a soveriegn country. You are facing an armed a violent enemy that uses terrorism and guerilla tactics on your soil. You want peace, but know you can't lay down your arms because they won't. You have been trying to keep the fight "clean" and doing so with one hand tied while your enemy goes at it tooth and nail. Attempts at diplomacy and turning the other cheek fail, and special forces and intelligence fail to stop the attacks, and you decide enough of your country's blood has been spilled. You know where they stash a good amount of their leaders and their weapons. The problem is those weapons and leaders and support are placed in places you cannot attack without causing severe damage to local infrastructure and population. Do you (A) Attack by dropping large bombs on the targets which blows up innocent things along with the target (B) Attack the targets with ground troops which destroys innocent things along with the targets and a lot of your soldiers (C) Continue with old tactics that have not accomplished much of anything which still results in innocent things being destroyed now and then (D) Surrender (E) Institute the ever "popular" glass parking lot solution witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I've been turned to the Dark Side by YOU EVIL, EVIL GUN PEOPLE!!
Kennedy replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, you can rent a gun at many ranges. Some even rent those horrible "destructive devices," machine guns. (the real thing that goes full auto, not some "evil" looking semi-automatic rifle) I took Robyn (RoadRash) shooting just before we left corn country behind for North Carolina, and she loved it, too. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
Why is he a crook? Because he took advantage of things that are written into the law of the land? Doesn't seem all that illegal to me. It will end when tax law is changed. See above post for when that is likely to happen. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Yes, it figures that people with money and power are making use of the legal loopholes to benefit while most do nothing but bitch about it. If I had the money and the time, I'd be using all the legal tactics possible to increase both for myself and my loved ones. Until people convince congress to change the tax law*, this will be standard practice across the country. * - of course this will never happen because (A) the congressmen in both parties have just as much money and take advantage of the same loopholes and (B) the supporters that pay for them to get re-elected take advantage of the loopholes and would not look kindly on loosing their legal but dirty tactics. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Israeli Tanks lined up and ready to roll
Kennedy replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
You're not exactly showing an even keel here. I wonder what the numbers would look like if you included death on each side for the last year or so. How many suicide bombers, car bombs, and other attacks have been launched against Israeli non-combatants? How does that compare to the number of Arab* non-combatants killed? I honestly don't know how those numbers would work out. I'm just stating that you can't only iclude deaths from the retaliation. You have to consider all the recent actions of both sides. Otherwise it would be like someone who disagrees with you talking about the number of Israelis killed in the last wave of bombings without considering recent Arab* deaths. * - for lack of a better all inclusive term to describe Israel's neighbors/enemies ps - Both sides have committed terrible acts, but when attackikng foes I can understand, if not condone, attacking infrastructure that allows them to attack you. It's happened in nearly every major war for as long as there have been wars. I can't understand or condone is detonating a car in a busy market targeting civilians. Both sides are doing "bad" things, but one seems demonstrably worse. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -

What odd/cute behavior does your pet engage in?
Kennedy replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
Our six pounds pekingese is about four months old. Sometimes she even has more energy than our one year old (as of last week) great dane. Often, when the little one wants to play and the big one is lounging, she will lunge at the great dane's head. Unfortunately, more often than I' dlike this leads the pekingese to hump the great dane's head at warp speed until she is stopped. Pictures and possibly video to follow. (disturbing) news at 11:00 Pekingese = Mae Lin (phon = May Lynn) Great Dane = Bella Nocce The cats are pretty standard issue devil spawn that you can't help but enjoy worshipping and loving every now and then. PS - RoadRash is a poohead witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
The one thing you absolutely must do while in NYC that doesn't get any attention is visit the Magnolia Bakery in the Village. It is the single best desert anywhere in America. It's located at 11th and Bleeker, and the phone number is 212 462 2572. YOU MUST try the Red Velvet cupcakes or cake. The pleasure is indescribable. Also, and great place to stay is Ye Olde Carlton Arms. Rooms are unique to say the least, just be sure you don't get the scary room. Prices are reasonable. Downright cheap for lower midtown NYC. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Is UNITED STATES, INCORPORATED founded on christianity?
Kennedy replied to hairyjuan's topic in Speakers Corner
(1) It is freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. If you need clarification, just ask. (2) I challenge you to find the phrase "separation of church and state" anywhere in the consitution or other laws of this country. Finding a phrase in a letter written by a founding father hardly makes something law. Even a concept that seems universally agreed upon when mentioned by the founding fathers (no infringment of arms), is not the law of the land today. edit: mistaken identity of poster witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
Q: How many Democrats does it take to change a lightbulb?
Kennedy replied to dorbie's topic in Speakers Corner
Gore didn't invent the lightbulb, he "took the initiative in creating it." Just ask Bill. And Bush didn't create anything, that would be a positive act. So he didn't create the darkness, he just made it all mean and scary and then lied about it. But Clinton got a BJ in the dark, so it doesn't matter what Bush did. Besides, he only made it bad to scare away the "ter-RUH-rists." witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -

Kennedy replied to hairyjuan's topic in Speakers Corner
What exactly is "evility?" If you're employing it to mean something bad, and claiming people should disavow association with the creation of the US gfovernment, rather than be proud of it, then I'd really like to hear what system you think is better that our constitutional republic. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
