  1. There's no such thing as clouds. It's "industrial haze".
  2. US is pretty much out on a limb ______________________________________ Well, since the UN and the "global community" have been right about everything else, I guess we should just go along.....oh, wait
  3. Especially Bush!! __________________________________ No, not especially Bush. Bush ALONE is to blame!! Well, I'm sure Tom Delay had something to do with it too, and Fox News of course.
  4. I've ordered 3 computers from Dell over the past 3 months, and each time it was at my door in 1 week or less. I never had any problem with the order number, however. When they sent the confirmation I immediately checked the status and it was always in their tracking system.
  5. I've played drums for like 1000 years. Most known for my band "Watchtower" (heavy/technical rock), recorded and toured internationally quite a bit in the late 80's, early 90's. Also played with regional party band "Retarted Elf" (white boy funk), which petered out a few years ago. I'm auditioning for a new band this week, trying to get back into playing regular after some time off (spent most of the last 2 years jumping every weekend).
  6. I notice you have "freefly" in your screen name. Wait until the first time you have someone swoop in head down and dock on you while you're in a sit. You'll feel the rush!
  7. So how can we lower the heat? ___________________________________ No whitey can lower the heat. It will only happen if and when people start to recognize so-called black "leaders" like Jesse Jackson and his ilk for what they are - dividers who increase their power by creating more division. If more people would open their minds and see they their attitudes and actions have more to do with their lot in life than their skin color, then we'll see some change.
  8. I'll start with an opening offer of $10 to the person(s) who throws Josh in ________________________________________________ Sure, I'll do it. Anyone got a crane I can borrow?
  9. Josh, tighten your closing loop....a lot. My Javelin was having the same problem but between sticking a rubber band on the tuck tab and tightening the closing loop the problem is solved.
  10. Neither. The only Metallica song I've ever liked is "Fight fire with fire" from Ride the Lightning. I can't even say that much about Megadeth.
  11. The lefty professors and administrations at US universities do far more to restrict personal freedom than Bush could ever do. Conservatives at universities are routinely denied their free speech rights, or are shouted down by rabid lefties if they do manage to find a forum. ---------------------------------------------------------- I wanted to make the same case, but it's been beaten to death here. Each side 'feels' the other side is restricting liberties. Can't get around it and the arguments are futile and hot-headed. Perfect for internet forums. _________________________________________________ Yeah, you're right. I'm going back to the Bonfire thread about the guy croaking after screwing a horse.

  13. Buy and read "The Skydivers Handbook" by Dan Poynter. It's got plenty of information and is easy to read for someone with no experience. Also, practice your arch at home on the floor. Get those muscles accustomed to being in that position.
  14. Dude, I started jumping at 39 (2 years ago), so no it's not too late to start. But like the others said, keep your day job. You can enjoy skydiving without it taking over your life. Most of the staff at my DZ have day jobs and work in skydiving on the weekends.
  15. Religion is a creation of people. Therefore, people must be the cause of our problems. Or perhaps. since God created us, we ought to blame him (or her).
  16. I paid like $110.00 for both (total cost) when I lost mine. This was for a Javelin.
  17. 676 hits on my name. Apparently I'm a drummer in a metal band of some sort. Google my name
  18. Someone needs to suck it up and call Barbra Streisand. She's probably got that much in her purse.
  19. "try and tell me that when we couldn't get more than 12.5k ft last weekend for jumping because of the thick haze wasn't caused by all the chemical and coal plants and suvs" You forgot jump planes
  20. Ask some experienced canopy pilots at your DZ about learning how to "sink in" landings. It can save your ass when you find yourself going long. Like flat turns, it's a survival skill.
  21. It's because we care about the kids. We don't want any little boys tying rubber bands around their you-know-what's trying to sound girly.
  22. I dislocated my shoulder the day after Christmas last year. I rehabbed it for about 2-1/2 months and have been jumping with a Sully Shoulder Stabilizer since then. I've had no problems (I've got 84 jumps post injury), but then again it took a pretty major trauma to dislocate in the first place. I got the brace over the internet at a place called Collins Sports Medicine. Good luck.
  23. I think they've redefined "dysfunctional".
