Well, personally, having been around pot smokers and around drunks, I'd hang out with the pot smokers if I had to pick between the two. Reasons:** Pot smokers are less likely to start fights Pot smokers are less likely to want to drive It's a lot harder to provoke someone who's high. It's easy to provoke a drunk. **This is just my personal experience.

It's legal in the state, but since it's still illegal by federal law, a doctor can lose their license if they prescribe it.
-
legalize it with the same restrictions we have on alcohol. 21 and over only, driving under the influence gets you a suspended license, etc. I have no problem with adults doing what they wish, provided they put no one else at risk.

Do the moderators play favorites in deciding who to ban?

well, there was a post above asking for suggestions. I gave some. What you chose to do with them, I don't care. I'm done with this thread. -
very true. the followers of Jesus may have been looked upon as a cult by mainstream society.
-
sometimes, the only difference between a cult and a religion is the number of members.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, but THEY SHOULD'VE CAST MICHAEL CRAWFORD!!!!!!!

Do the moderators play favorites in deciding who to ban?

well, what you posted states that personal attacks are a way to earn time off and won't be tolerated, but it still does not define the term. It appears (no idea if this is actually the case...I have no knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes) that sometimes, the moderators use the definition of "I know it when I see it." but sometimes, the line appears to be drawn in different places by different mods for different people. Again, I am not discussing actualities here, but am speaking only of appearances. Like I said before, I don't believe the moderation is biased, but I do see how it could appear so to people. -

probably a lot of the percieved "bias" comes from a bit of fuzziness on the part of the members as to what exactly the rules are, and how they are being inforced. For example, the "no personal attacks" rule... it says don't do it, but it doesn't define it. Perhaps, when a thread is locked or a post removed, there could be a statement saying, for example, "post removed due to personal attack" or "thread locked due to topic drift", just to clarify what's being done and why. I don't think the moderators are biased, just that the members are sometimes confused over the reasons behind a moderator's actions. -
have they tested him for reading/spatial problems like dyslexia? sometimes that explains why a kid scores high on IQ tests but has trouble reading.

my roommate and I went to Ireland a few years ago. I was shocked at how cheap it was. Our airfare was around $300. (I just checked AerLingus, it's now around $500 for may-july from los angeles. Probably cheaper from florida) We flew to Dublin, had reservations there for our first and last nights in Ireland, and the rest we just planned as we went along, talking to locals about what to do. Our car rental for the two weeks was $600 or so, and we were paying the penalty fees for being under 25 years old. We stayed in bed and breakfasts. You can find really nice ones for around $30 a night per person. They're much cheaper than hotels. B&Bs are also really nice because you can talk to the owner, who generally knows the local area really well and can recommend particular tours or places to visit. In dublin, we stayed in a hostel. There's no age limit on hostels, you just have to be from outside the country. The hostel was around $14 a night per person. I've got my whole trip logged on my website (linked below in my sig line). I'd say that without factoring in souvenirs, we probably did the trip on less than $1500 per person, and we could've gone a lot cheaper. I'd highly recommend any of the rick steves guidebooks (www.ricksteves.com) for anywhere you go in europe. His book saved our tails a couple of times. He lists hotels, b&bs and ranks activities, so you have a really good idea of what to see and what to skip. He also has small group trips that he organizes through his company. I haven't been on one, but some of my friends have, and they give their wholehearted recommendation, if you're looking for a pre-set itinerary and food and rooms pre-paid. I'm hoping to scrounge the money to go back there this summer. Even though I spent two weeks there, there is so much more to see and do!

It isn't just one user, but all users put together. The users provide the content of the forums. Sangiro provides the venue. Without the venue, you end up with a disorganized mess. Without the users, you end up with an empty forum. I think it's kind of like the government providing roads, and the citizens providing cars. If there weren't any roads, but a lot of cars, we'd have chaos. If there are no cars, it makes the roads kind of pointless. However, with roads and cars comes the need for laws and law enforcement. With a well run forum, there is a need for rules and moderators. -
however, students are generally not informed of their option to skip the recitation of the pledge. For my own reasons which had nothing to do with religion, I chose not to say the pledge in high school. My teacher did not even know that I had the option of skipping it until she discussed it with the administration! She pitched a fit in class when I chose to simply stand with the rest of the class and keep my hands at my sides and my mouth closed.

was gonna PM you, but you've got PMs disabled. This f-ing sucks. If you request to view your personnel file, in most states (all?), your employer has to let you. Scan the letter and post it so we all know who not to trust.

it depends. We don't have all the facts. We don't even know for sure if the guy was inside or outside the man's property, and what exactly he was doing there. If he was inside and didn't belong, it seems like self defense might be a viable defense. If he was outside and actively trying to break in, self defense might be a viable defense. However, if he was outside and not doing anything to indicate he was trying to get in, that's another story.

I've found Quade and Billvon to be very fair. -
actually, when you take everything into consideration, the mac is very comparable to the PC. The thing with macs is that because their software is more efficient, you don't need as much ram and processor speed. Also, macs come with so much software, and include the monitor and all that. Plus, they're a lot nicer to have on your desk...no cables strewn everywhere.

I've got a toshiba tecra m2. It handles everything I need to do, and even handles everquest 2, which is very graphics intensive.
