  1. Not the gaming community. The majority of Blizzard games are available for Mac. World of Warcraft is on Mac, as is Everquest, and EQ2 will be released on Mac within the next year. I'll be picking up a G5 iMac tomorrow, along with World of Warcraft.
  2. I got stuck on 15. After messing with it for a few hours, I lost interest.
  3. I would venture to say #3 and #5. Personally, while I don't care if the sport gets bigger or not, I just want to keep jumping, I do admit it'd be nice to have health insurance companies have accurate data on skydivers, and it'd be nice if more people understood why we do what we do, and that we're not insane and don't have a death wish. It'd also be nice if everyone had access to the benefits of larger dropzones, like big planes and wind tunnels.
  4. neptune. does everything a pro-track does, but much more intuitive. It's easy to figure out how to work it.
  5. Hehe... I can't say I remember the 70s. I was one year old when the 70s ended.
  6. I always try to understand the arguments for both sides of an issue. it clarifies my own position.
  7. Looking at the box on amazon, it seems that the PC version and the Mac version are in the same box. The mac store down here had around 10 copies a few days ago.
  8. Funks- Have you ever read "Why don't they learn English?" by Lucy Tse? If not, take a look at it if you have time. It's short, only 100 pages, and written in plain old English. It's a fascinating read and it covers a topic you seem very interested in. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0807740969/qid=1106126013/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/103-9958466-5851063?v=glance&s=books&n=507846
  9. EQ2 here... Neriak Server Lev 17 Rogue, Evalie (half elf) Lev 9 Mage, Solari (high elf) Lev 8 Scout, Selenay (wood elf)
  10. My nextdoor neighbors when I lived in my old apartment didn't speak English. There were six or seven people there living in a two bedroom apartment. I lived in a nice, gated apartment complex with pools and tennis courts and a gym and all that in a nice, new community with good schools and plenty of churches. The area was definitely middle class or higher, and, being close to Orange County, was quite conservative. People complained when those neighbors moved in. My downstairs neighbors were two college students. My other nextdoor neighbors were a lawyer and his family. All three were home one evening, judging by the lights in the windows when I got home. The lawyer and his family were out on their balcony having a barbecue. The college students were watching tv. Unexpected shit happened. I had a guest over who decided he wanted a lot more than I was ready for, and wouldn't take no for an answer. After being thrown against a wall, I screamed. There's no way in hell that all my neighbors didn't hear me. It was a warm night. The windows were open. Guess who was the only one who came knocking? Loudly and persistently. Guess who wouldn't go away until he knew I was ok, shouting through the door? That knock stopped the incident. The guy who was hurting me ran out the door, I guess figuring that someone would call the cops. I felt like I couldn't thank my neighbor enough, especially because the only word I knew to express my gratitude in a way I sure he could understand was "gracias." It doesn't matter what language someone speaks or how much money they have or how many people live in their house. What would you do if you heard your neighbor scream? Would you hide in your house and pretend nothing was happening, like my college student and lawyer neighbors? Would you look the other way? Would you complain to your roommate about the noise? Or would you go knock on the damn door to check on your neighbor and make sure everything was okay? My neighbor and I weren't friends. We weren't unfriendly, and we'd smile if we passed each other in the parking lot, but that was it. We couldn't really communicate, so we didn't really try. I'd had beer and watched movies with my downstairs neighbors, and the lawyer's wife had come over and asked for eggs or sugar once in a while when she was baking, and I tutored her kids in math and spelling. The people who knew me did nothing when I needed help. When they saw me the next day, they asked "I heard screams last night...are you ok?" These well educated, English speaking neighbors who knew me, knew I lived alone, heard me scream and chose to do nothing. The guy who didn't even know my name came over to help. If it's people like him, people who don't speak English, who make a neighborhood "scumville", I'll live there any day.
  11. I've seen some other forums have a "report to mod" button. The report button opens a thread in the moderator forum with the reporter's explanation of why the post is a problem, and a link to the original post, and the moderators can look at the post, take appropriate action, if any, and then close the report thread in the mod forum. It works well on smaller forums, but DZ.com is bigger than the other forums I've seen this system on, so I'm not sure how well it would work here, or if the forum software is capable of it.
  12. did you hit on the top of the door, the side, or the bottom? I could see how you could smack your shoulder on the step, but the top of the door would be kinda hard. Also, are you sure you hit the plane and not her helmet?
  13. I find a warm blanket and grab a cat or two to cuddle. Works every time.
  14. Registering for a wedding is a guideline. It's not telling you where to shop or what to buy, it's just to give you ideas if you want them. Now, sending out a note saying "the new couple is registered at..." in the invitations is a little tacky. If people want to know where you're registered at, they'll ask.
  15. Just send out invitations to a housewarming party. If people ask what you want as a gift, you can email them a wish list or something. If they don't ask, you'll probably still end up with some really cool stuff. When I moved into my first place, friends and relatives just kinda sent me stuff. Good friends showed up with alcohol to stock my liquor cabinet, family came over with a little something. I got some nice china from my grandmother, and some appliances and stuff. A lot of the times people will either get you something nice that you wouldn't buy for yourself (I gave a friend a waterford vase), or stuff that the giver found that they needed when they first moved (toaster, blender, popcorn popper, etc...). If you don't like a gift, just say you already have something similar and ask for the receipt so you can return it.
  16. I wonder if France is planning on tearing up the floor of Amiens Cathedral...
  17. yes. I've been to Canada, Mexico, and Ireland. I think I learn a lot about the country I'm visiting because of the way I travel. I get on the plane with only reservations for the first and last nights of the trip, with no plans in between. I talk with the locals to see how I should spend my time. You learn so much that way. Sometimes you don't see what the guidebooks tell you to, but you see what the people that live there want you to see, which tells you a lot about the culture.
  18. sometimes, if something is very sharp, you don't feel it. The nail could have plugged the hole so it didn't bleed. When I was little, I stepped on a large sewing needle. It went straight through my foot from the bottom to the top. I didn't feel a thing until my mom looked down and said "doesn't that hurt?"
  19. if you can get your daughter to keep up the gymnastics, the added flexibility and stamina will be a big plus to her in martial arts too.
  20. I can recommend a fabulous artist, but you'd have to ship to California. She is a trained professional artist first, and learned to paint helmets when I asked her to paint mine, because I wanted some awesome artwork, so I figured I should find an artist.
  21. To make money, you'd probably have to organize something similar to jump for the cause. A 10K run would probably be a lot easier to organize.
  22. if there's a Sport Chalet near you, they usually offer Scuba
  23. 2::0 and riding the plane up with a friend doing his AFF 1! Congrats, Mike!
